Good day, everyone! Thank you for your assistance so far. My brother Visitor Visa was approved today. He applied on the 22nd of March, 2024. He has done biometric in his previous applications. No travel history, he had been refused UK student visa 2wice, Canada student visa once and US visit visa once.
My question is, which is faster and better, to send his passport by courier or go to their office in person. Reason is that I want him to attend my birthday coming up in few weeks
Thank you once again. 6 Likes |

It shouldn’t be a major concern for you since the date on the International passport and NIN are the same, you can however rectify it via a webform, you can submit a letter explaining the mistake and make reference to the birthdate on the submitted international passport and NIN, attach his birth certificate to the webform letter too. Thank you. 1 Like |

Good morning everyone. We submitted my younger brothers application 2 months ago, and we just found out that the day of his date of birthday filled in was wrong. instead of 23 of December, we selected 30th of December, this is in all the sections they asked about his age. Though the months and years are correct. I am a little concerned about this, is there anyway we can get it rectified? Though the date on his NIN and international passport that are attached to his application are same.
Thank you for your response! |

Good day everyone, we have started filling the Canada application forms online, using the new site, but when we got to the documents to submit section, the documents they're asking us to upload does not align with what we are applying for (Visitors visa). for example under employment, documents ask was for someone looking to work in Canada. We got confused and thought may be we should use the old site, sine that one is straight forward.
Please, any idea why it's like that, and is it better to use the old or new site, any different? Thank you all for your responses 🙏 |

MayorOfEdmonton: Pictures are surplus to requirement if we are being honest. It’s usually best to keep visa applications simple. Birth certificates of both siblings suffices as it has the same father & mothers name (except for step siblings), that’s all the visa officer needs. Besides in your PR application few years ago, you listed him as your brother. They will likely visit your previous PR file to confirm name and DoB u inputed.
Remember to add yourself as authorized representative so you can call ircc on his behalf if the processing is taking longer than expected.
More importantly don’t forget to add your proof of status(PR Card/Canadian Passport as applicable). Some add a couple or so recent payslips in addition to bank statements as proof of financial support.
Good point, Thanks. |

slimmsyyetty: I believe the invitation letter should be signed and dated from the person who is inviting the applicant and if necessary and required by the Canadian Embassy, it should also be notarized. So your wife's signature may not be necessary. Also, the signature of the host should be identical to the authentic signature they use in Canada.
Two important dates for getting a Canada visa will be included/confirmed in the invitation letter. One is the date that assures the visitor’s entry to the country. The other date is the scheduled date on which the visitor plans to exit Canada. The invitation letter must mention the visitor’s ties, too. This implies that as your sibling, you will need to submit the birth certificates of both of you and pictures (if possible as little children to teenagers and not adults alone) as evidences

Thanks, always 🙏 |

Hello house, so i have prepared the letter of invitation/ sponsorship, mentioning that my younger brother is coming over for a family visit, that me my wife and children would be glad to receive him. And am planning to attach some of my personal docs. like bank statement and 1 or 2 joint documents with my spouse.
Here is the question, is there any need for my wife to co-sign the letter if invitation?
Thank you for your responses 🙏 |

slimmsyyetty: That means you will have to indicate only on your bro official invitation letter that you would be sponsoring him fully. He alone would submit your bank statement as part of his documents (including evidence of being siblings like birth certificates of both of you, pictures, e.t.c.) BUT he still needs to show his ties in Nigeria, strongly- family, financial and home ties. Everything on his documents must show he would return. In fact, having a US Visa, either past or current would fast track his visa approval as fast as 15 days. Let him submit any travel history he had in the past, too. Start his application now even if you re-consider inviting him for summer and not the birthday because no one can guarantee when a decision can be made. It is better if he had his visa already ahead of his intended travel month
For the rest that you wouldn't be sponsoring(i.e. if you still wish to invite them for your birthday), please give out your official invitation letter and birthday invitation to them quickly so they can start processing their visa application. Some people that applied last year August haven't received decision by now.
Shalom
Thank you, I appreciate your response 🙏 |

slimmsyyetty: You would need to give them an official invitation letter individually, indicating their biodata, relationship, reason for invitation, duration and where the invitee would stay(please check ircc official website on how to go about writing your invitation letter). Then you would also give them your special birthday invitation card (with each of their names imprinted on the card). It is these two alongside other docs (like bank statement, proof of occupation, prove of family, financial and economic tie, e.t.c. All these are to be provided by the invitees) that they would submit to the embassy for visa.
I hope those you are inviting are those that are financially gallant who wouldn't blink an eye crossing the Atlantic to spend millions just for birthday(in VO's mind) because flight currently is 3M and depending on the accommodation availability ( whether you are lodging them and paying for their hotel or they would have to pay themselves). If you would be responsible for their lodging (even if not all), then you must be ready to show your bank statement to prove you are capable to the embassy.
I will suggest you start now so that they can quickly apply for their visa. Don't be surprise some of them won't get response from the embassy until the birthday is over.
Shalom!!!
Thank you for a detailed response 👍🙏 They're about 4 of them in total. 2 are financially okay. And I want to support or sponsor one of them, my brother. I've already started my brother's application and I was thinking may be I should leave it at just invitation to see the family for the summer. |

Hahahahahahaha. I remember embarking on further japa runs after myself and a few friends graduated in the UK. Some extremely Patriotic naija colleagues that had families way up in government where bent on going back home to Nigeria. They believed getting job won't be hard for them back home.
Well, 12 or 13 years after, they now send messages every now and then asking about how they can japa. I tell them I don't know anything about migration again. Last time I ever touched an immigration from or whatever visa application form was way back in 2012 or so when I filled visa application form for my family members to visit me abroad. Funny enough, as I read the comments of the guy you quoted, it reminds me of our days in the Uk too, between 2010 and 2012, and how we left to look for other opportunities in another country, i was just telling this to my wife. I remembered few of our friends too left and went back to Nigeria because it was difficult to extend work visa in the Uk then, some had to stay back to continue schooling. The story is different today. My advice to those students, studying in the Uk, especially Msc, that doesn't want to go back to Nigeria is that they should use it as a stepping stones. Once you're done with your study and you are given the 2 years to work, just use the opportunity to go to another country for example you can apply for Canada express entry, at that time you have more opportunities and you may be lucky to get it within the time of your working visa. 16 Likes 1 Share |

I thought about this same thing awhile back when seeing how girls are jumping up and down shouting thick bt the average Nigerian girl doesn't know how to watch her weight and explodes in size after marriage for unknown reasons even without kids.
I changed my mind about these thick girls immediately cos it's just an excuse to not keep fit. I won't tolerate anybody tripling their already thick body under my roof. Nahh! Hahaha. That's me. You need to see my wife before we got married. She was slim with small boobs, now after 3 kids she's looking perfect. I always tell her if she's as big as some of her friends now, I don't know how I would have survive living with her. 1 Like |

Another thing is the kitchen cabinets covered almost 70 percent of the wall… the tiles at the back of the cabinet is a waste to me… #personal Opinion though Am happy, knowing that am not alone. Few weeks back we had this argument about tilling the whole kitchen wall, everyone I asked, told me that's how it's been done. I said why would I spend so much money to tile the whole area and then later cover it with cabinets. I told them to do what I wanted after all my current house does not have tiles all over the kitchen walls. 1 Like |

Opsy14: Hi congratulations to your niece... Please what's this charge back for and what's the procedural fairness about? Did the embassy request any documents after she got the charge back?
Charged back was on the $235 application fee paid by the agent. She was asked to explain why there was a charged back in the first Place. No, they didn't request for any document. But we supported the explanation letter with verifiable documents. |

My niece got her PPR today. Her application was given to an agent to assist her by her parents since i was very busy back here, unfortunately she got a charged back leading to procedural fairness submission in August and this made me to take total control of her application. Am sharing to encourage someone who is in the same situation. 22 Likes 1 Share |

Hi Jeff,
You need to transmit the documents to IRCC electronically.
Remember the process you took when you initially submitted your application, and you clicked next to make payment and signed electronically with your name before submitting your application. You would need to follow that same process to transmit it to IRCC. The only difference here is that you are not making any payment.
Once you do that, the status on your additional document section on your GC key would change to acknowledge receipt of your document.
All the best. Thank you, it's for my niece. It's been submitted. |

Patocypher: Calm down, you have not committed any crime . Before responding, contact your agent to get details as to why the payment was reversed. This is a very serious issue. The procedural fairness letter Is not a matter of another person writing or drafting it for you. Your agent knows the true story about the chargeback. Just contact your agent and tell IRCC the truth in your explanation letter and attach proof if you have any. Another person who does not know much about the chargeback might assist you in writing it and you will land yourself into trouble. The same letter was sent to me on july 31, 2021 to Specially, Provide an explanation as to why the debts to the crown were incurred. I told them the whole thing because i used an agent and attached the proof i have with me and reply. Please pack your luggage and run away from Agent. Thats one of the disadvantages of using Agent. Is something you can do yourself. It's well.. I have sent you an email, will like to chat with you. Please respond, so that I can send you my contact number. Thanks |
