Health / Re: Serious Blood In My Stool, Please Help by JESUnifemi4eva: 3:06pm On Mar 10, 2021 |
edo3: Please go to a teaching hospital and speak with a gastroenterologist as quickly as possible; also insist on a colonoscopy test (this is very very important). Don't go to a regular hospital except they have consultant gastroenterologist there. Please don't think of this as simple hemorrhoids or dysentery; treat it as very very urgent. A close relative had the blood in stool issue and kept treating for hemorrhoids not knowing that it was colon cancer. I pray that you don't have the same issue but appeal to you to go to the nearest teaching hospital or a specialist centre with gastroenterologist for thorough checkup and treatment |

justwise: Hi Justwise, It is not the company that pays for maternity leave. It is the government that pays (as long as you meet the minimum requirements in terms of the number of hours worked prior to starting maternity leave) and monthly payment is capped at 55% of pre-maternity leave salary or maximum of $573 (per week before tax) - PS: NOT everyone gets the maximum amount, as it is subject to your pre-maternity leave salary level. It is one of the reasons some Canadians don't want to have lots of babies as it is seen as reduced income for the one year period. This information is on the government website www.canada.ca It might look like a lot of money, but childcare is costly; creche costs about $1200-$2000 per month (depending on location) for a 12month-18month baby, so it's best to save for post-maternity period except you have a family member that will help you with childcare when you resume at work; and you still have to pay for accommodation and general expenses. The child also gets benefits from the government ranging from $100-$650 per month depending on parents income level and location. These might look like a lot of free benefits but remember Canadians are taxed heavily and the expenses are also in dollars; that said, I wont discourage anyone from immigrating to Canada, some people relocate and get fantastic jobs immediately while some struggle to find their footing for a few years before getting settled. Advise for new immigrants - be open-minded and watch the company you keep, try to make friends with positive minded people who would show you the right way and give you information on how to navigate the job market. Don't get discouraged if the beginning is a bit rough; whatever job you get, work hard and don't 'settle'. Don't get involved in illegitimate businesses; avoid people that are not interested in continuous improvement. A lot of Nigerians are thriving in their careers, earning top-range salaries and managing very profitable businesses. LinkedIn is a great tool, package yourself and NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK; please do not restrict yourself to the NIGERIAN community. Canada is a lovely place, and the leaders are interested in serving their community. Taxes are high however we can't complain too much as the government is transparent (google ATIP Canada) about the costs of governance, and we can check how our taxes are being allocated for infrastructure, healthcare, education etc. Please pardon all typo's Above all, commit everything to GOD, and HE will direct your path! 10 Likes 1 Share |
Health / Re: HELP: How Do I Manage Bleeding Hemorrhoids? by JESUnifemi4eva: 2:39pm On Jun 17, 2020 |
Please if you are bleeding from your anus, don't take it lightly. Go to the nearest teaching hospital and make sure you see a gastroenterologist, who would examine you and recommend tests before prescribing drugs or recommending the course of treatment. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT LIGHTLY I lost a family member to Colon Cancer, and the symptoms started with bloody stools, and the person commenced treatment for hemorrhoids, not knowing it was something a lot more serious. It could be hemorrhoids but it is a specialized doctor, that can determine if it is nothing serious. Best of luck. 2 Likes |
Health / Re: Her Stool Contains Blood, What Could Be Happening And Any Solution? by JESUnifemi4eva: 1:39pm On Feb 19, 2020 |
desag: Please let the person get assessment from a qualified doctor, if possible a gastroenterologist (specialist); it could be something simple that can be easily resolved, and it could be an early symptom of colon cancer - which I pray is not the case. A qualified doctor might run some tests e.g. colonoscopy, please do not take this lightly and act fast. Best of luck 1 Like 1 Share |

Thank you for this selfless update Dsquare2017. May GOD grant your wife safe delivery.Amen It was an interesting read, and GOD pass all these village (Lufthansa) people. I shared my experience on this thread several years ago, although on a different moniker. You are on the right track, I just want to share my point of view about getting a Social Insurance Number for your child/children - if they are not fully resident in Canada. I feel it exposes them to the risk of Identity theft, as there are unscrupulous elements who are tracking idle S.I.N & looking for avenues to collect government benefits using other people's details; and this is the easy aspect, identify theft can be very serious. You can always apply for the Social Insurance Number whenever you or your children decide to reside in Canada - at least that is what I did. Also appeal to the hospital staff to check you out within 24hrs - if possible, as you a cash-paying patient. Best regards! [quote author=Dsquare2017 post=83336900] Good day everyone in the house. I’ve been a So, this has been my journey so far. I would update you guys when the rest of it is over. And I am confident that the God that saw us through the process up until this moment, we see us through to the end. 1 Like |

kafcakes: If money is not a problem...use the visa once before coming to have your baby. It could just be for a few days, it might make POE easier for you when you come to give birth as you have 'record' of entry and exit. Lots of airlines will have deals/sales soon...Oct 1st, Canada day sales, Black Friday etc...just look for an affordable deal. Best of luck and please share your experience when you give birth in Canada! |

I have just one response to your question. Your son is a US Citizen and does not require a Visa to travel to Canada. There's no need to add him to your Visa application, as he is an evidence of strong family ties to Nigeria for the purpose of your visa application Lol12: |

There's dignity in labour, as long as you are not involved in any illegal activity. You are on the right path by seeking authentic information on this thread; have you done some research about unskilled workers migration or checked if you meet the requirements for forklift drivers? There's another thread for express entry although for skilled workers, try asking more questions there, you might get someone with the answers you require. Best regards centoqoh: |

You can't land a good job without a social insurance number in Canada; and you can't get a social insurance number as a tourist. If you don't want to suffer, don't try the illegal route, either migrate through permanent residency or as a student. Be patient and migrate properly! centoqoh: 9 Likes |

Hi Drpak, Just want to state that your wife should be able to do her Xray with the use of a shield, so it doesn't delay her SOWP. There are several high-end hospitals that have the shield including the ones recommended by CIC in Ikoyi, Lagos... (can't remember the exact name...something Consultants) I can't respond to your question about not misinterpreting intent, but if you decide to go ahead with the tourism route, I would advise that you add a strong and convincing LOE stating why you want your wife to be with you during childbirth and why she can't do an xray, and how you have the capacity to pay for her medical expenses (using the guidelines stated in this thread) plus the fact that she will return to Nigeria after her maternity leave is over, pending the completion of her other application. Above all...commit it all to GOD and pray that HIS will be done! Drpak: 2 Likes |

Samsung works with most telephone service providers. I could not take advantage of a very good deal on Freedom mobile because of my phone. Huawei and Infinix might work with some networks but Samsung works with virtually all the networks. Not sure about Nokia Folafikemi: 1 Like |

If you are using MTN, go to a service centre and request for 'keep my number'. It costs N1,200 for a 3-year cycle. I don't have the details for other service networks. Your MTN Sim will work here but bear in mind that roaming charges are horrendous. You are also charged about N50 if you receive text messages, but you can always recharge your phone using online banking platforms or even short USSD Codes depending on your Nigerian Financial Institution. ready4glory: 22 Likes 16 Shares |

Whatever you decide to do, do NOT use any fabricated documents especially BANK documents, you can get banned for 10years for misrepresentation. Get someone to transfer money to your account and consider getting a gift deed from the person, just incase you need to add it to your application. DO NOT FALSIFY ANY DOCUMENTS, it's better if your trip is delayed than if you are barred for 10years, and delay is not denial afterall your husband is a citizen and its easier for him to file for you. Please apply for the long form and short form; and use the premium online service https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/scr_ServiceStandards.do#section3 Please do NOT apply for SIN or CCB if you are a visitor; just stick to statement of live birth and registration for birth certificate. P.S: use the documents that the hospital gave you when you were discharged in completing the form. For my evidence of expedite, I took a copy of my return ticket to ServiceOntario and explained that I needed to register his birth, apply for a passport and return to my home country urgently to attend to personal issues. Just be confident and don't panic Best of luck FamilyforE4: 1 Like |
