SCRIPTURE: Matthew 10:34, ‘Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.’

This statement seems like a contradiction to some prophecies concerning Jesus and some of Jesus’ own statements concerning peace, as well as what was written of Him in the New Testament Epistles. However, the peace that Jesus purchased was peace between God and man. We have peace with God (Rom. 5:1). We are exhorted to take this peace and extend it to all men, but it is also made very clear that not all men will receive it.

Peace can only come when we relate to God on the basis of faith in what He did for us, instead of what we do for Him. A person who is thinking that he must perform up to some standard to be accepted by God will have no peace. That puts the burden of salvation on our shoulders, and we can’t bear that load.

SCRIPTURE:Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

The verse above is part of the prayer format that the Master taught His disciples. He said, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth…”, because when the Kingdom comes, God’s will is done. When Jesus came, He was the manifestation of the will of the Father; He was the will of God in human flesh. Hallelujah!

Jesus was the embodiment of God’s will; He was at the right place at the right time for the right purpose, in the right way. Even when they wanted to arrest Him on a certain occasion, and He sneaked out from there (John 10:39), He was still in the will of God.

God’s will is manifested in His Kingdom, and the Kingdom executes His will. This means that the will of God is Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional April 29 2023

SCRIPTURE: And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” – Colossians 1:18 (KJV).

It is common knowledge that the Church is meant to be for people called out by God. Christ is the Head of the Church because the most important part of anybody is the head. The head is so important that when you want to take a passport photograph, all you take is a picture of your head. The heart, kidney and liver can be transplanted, but there has never been a successful head transplant.

Is Christ your head? If your answer is yes, is He your vision? The eyes are a major part of the head and we know how important vision is. Where there’s no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18).

This scripture makes us understand the power of virtues. I explained last time that virtue is a spiritual entity. It can move from person to person. Virtue can be spiritually transferred. My answer concerns your dreams, and the element in your make-up called “faith.” All that God requires of anyone in taking his first step toward Him and toward total self-fulfillment is faith—faith in His Word, that teaches that God loves you and that you were alienated from Him by sin, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, that when you make a personal surrender to Him as Lord and Savior, He can transform you from the inside out.

SCRIPTURE: “That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:” – Psalms 144:12

Our focus is still on sowing and reaping through the lives of our children. It all boils down to how well the foundation is laid. The foundation of any structure speaks volume about the strength and durability of the structure. The same is true of human lives. How a child has been raised is a pointer to what would come out from such lives. Beloved parent, you cannot lay a foundation of rubbles and expect your son to grow like a healthy plant according to our memory verse. Neither can your daughter be strong like a pillar except it is well cast and solidly built from the foundation. SCRIPTURE: –Luke 22:43 ‘And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.’

We have angels assigned to us. Hebrews 1:14 further reveals that their purpose is to minister to us, on our behalf. In the Old Testament, Psalm 91 teaches on the ministry of angels to God’s people.

Some people who have realized this truth have taken it as far as to say that we are suppose to speak to our angels and they will obey our commands. There is no instruction in scripture to do this nor is there any example of that being done. We don’t have the intelligence to administer all of the angels.

Many of the angels’ protective duties described in Psalm 91 are preventative, and we certainly could not effectively command these activities.

Rather, these angels are dispatched exactly as this verse describes – by looking at the Father’s face (Mat. 18:10). God Almighty controls them for us; however, we do have a part to play. Psalm 91 prefaces all of these promises about angels as ... Andrew Wommack Daily Devotional November 12 2022

God instructed Jeremiah to go to the potter’s house and there He taught him a great lesson that we also ought to learn. Many individuals, families and nations are sick spiritually and physically. They need the touch of the Great Potter. Many are in spiritual bondage and the enemy is not ready to let them go free. They are being tormented day and night. Individuals, families and nations are also in captivity. They are not where God wants them to be. These also need the touch of the Great Potter.

THEME: Submitting to Divine Authority

SCRIPTURE: (Isa. 1:2) “Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; for the Lord speaks”.

We might assume that those who affirm the inspiration, inerrancy, and infallibility of God’s Word would automatically submit to its authority. But that isn’t always the case. Even those who hold to a high view of Scripture may sometimes fail to obey it. We need to be reminded that the authority of God’s Word isn’t simply a doctrine to be affirmed, but a priority to be pursued.

Israel fell into the trap of holding to a high view of Scripture while failing to abide by its statutes. To them Paul said, “If you bear the name ‘Jew,’ and rely upon the Law, and boast in God, and know His will, and approve the things that are essential, being instructed out of the Law, and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the...John Macarthur Daily Devotional October 16 2022

Pastor Rick Warren Daily Hope Devotional November 12 2021

Theme : Taking a Stance on Sanctity

Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.”

Acts 18:9 (NIV)

For the last few days, we’ve been looking together at what it means to develop a Christian worldview. As you’re forming your worldview, it’s important to understand God’s stance on three issues that are controversial in many cultures today.
I’ve chosen these three because speaking up about them requires the most courage. Not only will most people disagree with you about these topics, but they will also passionately argue with you.

It takes an uncommon courage to stand up against that kind of pressure.

There are many parts of the Bible that people don’t have a problem with, such as when we’re told to help the poor. Nobody disagrees with that. But the world hates some parts of Scripture, and that makes it difficult for Christians to stand up for what they know is right.

Here are three issues related to sanctity that Christians today need to stand up for.

1. The sanctity of life: God has a purpose for every unborn child. God planned your life before you were born: “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16 NLT). We are to speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves—the unborn, the tens of millions of babies around the world who would be here if they hadn’t been aborted. If I claim to be a Christian, then I must believe that every life is sacred.

2. The sanctity of sex: Sex is only for marriage. Sex is God’s idea. It isn’t dirty or wrong; sex is holy. “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral” (Hebrews 13:4 NIV). God’s instructions never change: Premarital sex is unacceptable to God. Living together without being married is unacceptable to God. Adultery is unacceptable to God. Pornography and the objectification of women are unacceptable to God.
