Politics / Re: Who Will Be The Next Godfather To Be Demystified? by johannu(m): 11:36pm On Dec 15, 2023
FreedomfromtheT:
Political office is not a family property.
If predecessors or powerful politicians were picking their family members as successors, former governor Nyesom Wike who was sponsored by Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan wouldn't have become governor of Rivers State.
Just to educate you, former president George H W Bush didn't impose his son on the people of the United States. He had left the scene for eight good years before his son George Bush became elected as president by the US electorate.
The late Saraki senior chose his son Saraki junior to be Kwara State governor after supporting outsiders.
Saraki junior refused to handpick his younger sister Gbemisola as his successor against his father's wish.
A member of the Kennedy family in the Us is just contesting as an independent candidate after decades of J F Kennedy's famous presidency.
Thank you.
Thank you for educating the ignorant fools

"Can you imagine Wike came out to say that no single person from Rivers State who is holding an elective position bought a form? That is a scandal and he said it and got away with it. This means that House of Assembly members, he bought forms for them; National Assembly members, he bought forms for them, and Fubara, he bought the form for him."

"As what," he questioned, adding that "Rivers State cannot be his property."
That is how they capture and put the state in their pocket.

The way Tinubu turned successive Lagos State governors to house boys!

Where is the so called agreement?
Is rivers state now the property of Wike?
If Buhari should treat tinubu the way Wike is treating Fubara, what will be your reaction?

Igbo are the worst set of people who always cherish betrayal than loyalty

That's more reason why we can't trust an Igbo man with national treasure

Betrayal runs I'm their DNA.

When Wike choose Fubara he would have rejected the offer knowing fully well that the structure that brought him must be maintained at all cost

If i sponsor you abroad with the hope that when you succeed you will help my children then you get there and forget about our agreement and you expect me to be happy with you? How do Igbo see betrayal as a norm still battles me

I don't know how old you are. Some "help" people do to "help" you would put you in bondage in the future. It is for their selfish reasons they are "helping" you, and they won't allow you to breathe afterwards.

Those loyal to Wike are equally enslaved, but they don't know. It takes one person to take the lead and break the shackles of godfatherism. Fubara has taken the bull by the horn, and I'm optimistic he will be victorious.

With what we are seeing going on in Rivers one would never expect newly elected governor to perform.
Just imagine that Wike selected 27 out of 32 RSHA members. Appointed all LGA chairmen, appointed about 20 of the commissioners.
May be he selected the deputy governor also.

Now tell me how was Fabara supposed to perform as a governor when the godfather caged him with this type of arrangement?

Please, should there be any governor in this deep mess, time has come to rebel and get freedom. Surbordination is not servitude.
That is the way of godfathers. Terrible!

What I meant by too early is 1. He was Wike's beneficiary 2. He is yet to lean the ropes. He needs to have furtively studied the ground and how to react and which institutions to strengthen or weaken. Hasty climbers have sudden fall.

It's like the benefactor trying to strangulate the beneficiary. The beneficiary must muster all his strength to free himself from the chokehold of the wicked benefactor, or else the beneficiary won't be able to breathe.

Are all these men resigning belong to Wike, if yes Wike is wicked, why would your men hold on the key positions after you have been governor for eight years, why can't him import them to Abuja with him?
No politician have the interest of the state or nation which they govern, they are like devil that give an egg šŸ„š fir a full grown roaster or bull

That's godfatherism. The godfather dictates everything, reducing the godson (a whole governor) to a puppet. Thank God Wike has not grown to become what Tinubu is in Lagos. If you know what Oyo State went through in the hand of the strongman (godfather) of Ibadan politics, the late Lamidi Adedibu, and how the late Olusola Saraki of Kwara held Kwara State by the jugular, you will detest godfatherism. I'm waiting for the day Lagos State will be freed from the chokehold of Tinubu.

A welcome development. The unintelligent folks think the only way to curb corruption in salary payment is by having a centralized payroll platform. I was waiting for them to direct all government workers to open salary accounts with CBN. Idiots. They fail to understand that we can have clusters of interconnected payroll systems, just as we have many commercial banks on different platforms connected to inter-bank payment system. Corruption in government workers payroll is easy to tackle if government can reach out to those who know how best to tackle the problem. IPPIS has not solved the problem.

All of you just keep shouting Ambode lack balls without giving thought to how possible it is to win a war with Tinubu is. Where would he had started from?
Tinubu is like an octopus in Lagos with leg in every sector of Lagos especially where you have a huge concentration of miscreants and louts like Transport and work. The political, elite and middle class also, so where would he have started from.
Tinubu carry everything along in his evil plans so it's hard to get to him. Tinubu is a legion in Lagos. If he had tried to, he might win but lives and billions 'll be wasted. Edo was easier cos Oshiomole didn't have that kind of Power in Edo. Power is a game, you play to win but it's also important to stay in the game as long as possible so you can actually have the chance to win.
When godfatherism is allowed to fester, the godfather becomes a monster. Tinubu is a monster. The late Lamidi Adedibu of Ibadan and Olusola Saraki of Ilorin were monsters; Oyo State and Kwara State were freed only when the duo died.
