If i am an investor and i see this, i will see a motivated person instead of a desperate person.

But come to think of it, why will a potential owner fear?? Is it the fact dat am a newbie or the fact that am ready to pay Assurance deposit

Or is it that i will abscond with der car or wat??

Lastly is being new on nairaland a credential for credibility of a driver As i said in my post, am a newbie, i dont think u expect a newbie to have been on this thread for a long time.

So oga gazzuz, i wont say your view is wrong, but as u are seeing 9 many partners are seeing 6. Its all about the point of view.

3 partners from here already contacted me and discussion is on going. So u see, this life is multifacet

Joshculler:
Desperation you call it Well we all have different ways of viewing life. In d past few months i av seen many cars but nobody wants a newbie. So if u see someone trying to pave way for himself and u call it deaperation, hnmmm well dats ur view. I am trying to give myself an edeg by offering deposit to assure partners. So any potential owner seeing dis and getting afraid is just not ready. If i am an incestor

With this level of desperation you will create fear in potential owners and the fear will double. To add to it, you are newly registered on Nairaland without any history.

You are forgetting that u have 4k+ cash with u. The total money for the ride. Uber simply included that 4k+ into the transaction log

Gentlelife50:

Bros before I started that trip the balance on my dashboard was 14k plus not 9k something, assuming I didn't do another trip that's what they will pay me.
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Joshculler: 11:02pm On Oct 14, 2018
Oga, ur balance before dat trip was 11k+, uber added 3k+ to ur account which is your money after commission has been removed and since you collected cash from the rider, dey deducted the 4k+ from your account making ur account balance to be 9k+. Add the 4k+ cash with u to 9k+ on ur uber will give u total of 14k+.

Assuming the trip is a card trip, ur balance will also be 14k+ after uber has removed der commission. Though the mathematics is a little bit confusing but if u sit look at it deeply, u will understand it.

Gentlelife50:

Hqave I complained about the earnings and commission before Oga new school? Let me show you the transaction.
Don't be offended I thought they will only take their commission from my balance with them not the whole cash I collected.
I had 14k plus before the trip and I suppose they would take their commission alone not taking away the whole cash I collected from the rider.

Oga dis is simple mathematics. He buys fuel 3k and tells u 4k.

He makes 10k gross profit.
10k -4k= 6k net profit.
35% of 6k = 2100.
Total money driver makes = 2100+1000= 3100
While u make 3900.

If he tells u d truth.
10k- 3k= 7k
35% of 7k= 2450

Total money driver makes is 2450 compared to 3100 he made lieing to u.

He calls dat the mechanic needs 5k, u forward 5k to him, he pays mechanic 3k and locket 2k.

At the end of the day, he makes 10k and u deduct 5k. U give him 35% of 5k which is 1750. He happily collects it knowing dat he has made 2k making a total of 3750.

On the other hand u as d supposedly smart investor only makes 65% of 5k which is 3250. Oga who is smarter

Bro, u will always be at the recieving end. Even transport companies cannot fully monitor der drivers. Der drivers still carry passengers on the road.

Phranex:

Let's say driver buy fuel 3k but tells me 4k

At the end of the he makes 10k (bad day)
10 -4 =6

The driver and I will share 6k .. He gets 2100 (35%)

He tells me the truth

10 - 3 = 7

The driver and I share 7k.. He gets 2450

Who loses if he lies, tell me?

Remember all expenses comes back to the investor as running costs... So from the 10k, the investor has expenses plus 65% of net profit

The driver loses if he lies....

If he tells me he spent xyz for repairs.. Whatever he earns , that xyz amount will be first deducted before we share the profit

E.g

He calls that the car broke down and mechanic needs 5k . I will transfer 5k to him.. He made 10k at the end of the day... What we will share as profit is 5k.. The 5k I sent will have to be deducted from the 10k...

This model is fool proof...

I will have to do some further permutations to be doubly sure tho

I have been following your post here but practically u will be at the losing end. If a driver buy 3k fuel and tells u 4k. That 1k gone out of the net profit u are suppose to share. He just stole ur 650naira so easily. If he steals 1k from u daily for seven days thats 4550 he stole. Money dsts suppose to add up to the net profit.

U said u camt delete call logs, thats very funny. You can delete call logs my brother. U dont need to clear all.

If ur driver calls u and said the car got spoilt somewhere how do u want to know if its true? The best u will tell him is to look for a mechanic to quickly repair it.. My brother, ur driver might ne inside coldstone livking ice cream while waitimg for u to send like 4k to repair wetin no dey. And even if it got spoilt and needs and mechanic tells him 3500 and he told u 5k, wat can u do about that? Even if u av a specific mechanic will ur mechanic ne with the driver 24/7 ??

Offline trips is another thing ooo. Some old drivers have long list of offline customers, and ders little u can do to monitor d car even with tracker cos on e hailling ders no specific route. All way na way unlike transport companies that have specific routes so tracking can be done.

Oga mi, u will end up losing big time

Phranex:

Q
Lol... You know most transport coys have a specific filling station they buy fuel from?

Besides if he buys 3k and tell me 4k... Its my gain cos 4k will be subtracted from earnings.

You also know that phones keep calls log and you can't delete one . the best u can do is delete all

I know it will be a difficult process but it profits means anything to an investor, he would devote a full to study these things

The model is done in such a way that if the driver overshoots the expenses.. He loses big time as the expenditure will be deducted before he starts earning... If he under shoots, the driver and the owner both share the in it..

The model protects the car owner fully and as well rewards the driver.. The current model favours only the driver..

With some comments here a new comer can not really know the direction to go whether to come in or not. Many negative comments about the bizness but still many are doing it. Why? We have people on rentals remitting 30k weekly, how are dey doing it? This is really not encouraging for someone like me

Rentals am seeing are also in the range of 30k-35k per week. Which sums up to 120k - 140k per month.
GAZZUZZ:

Be careful what you sign sir. 220k per month is 55k per week, a car is a machine, there are parts that can fail without notice e.g Alternator, a/c, wipers, exhaust etc..... As log as it is not a brand new car failure rate exists and you will have to replace those parts to continue working. You will also need to Feed and and buy service the car with Good quality engine oil within those 4weeks.

A driver on this platform signed a 110k H.P deal with me and failed in payments the first month because he claimed he serviced the car with synthetic oil and changed toks shocks. So I have see it first hand.

I will advice you to do rental first, experience earnings first hand and see what is obtainable, pace your self, and put your self in a virtual H.P seat while on Rental E.G set aside money for servicing, and repairs. At the end of 3months you will not need to ask this question.

Good luck sir.
