“I have never felt this way before. I never knew I would fall in love this way and now everything is falling apart. I need to do something fast about this” Becky said to herself.

Becky went for spiritual help. She went to a strong medicine man in a village close to the city. She narrated her problems to the man. She cried for help. “There is something you are not telling me, there is something that you have never told anyone, there is something that you have never taken time to pay attention to?” Baba said.

She looked down and thought of what he might be talking about, but she couldn't figure anything out.

"Baba, sincerely, I don’t know what you are talking about, maybe you should give me a clue” Becky said curiously.

“You have a spiritual husband and he doesn't want you to marry anyone else, he made no man see anything in you, he is not ready to give you up. When you clock 33, he will take you back to his world and you will be with him forever, your mother knows about this” Baba told her.

Previously on BEHIND SHADES: “you are talking nonsense. I don’t love you and will never love you, how can I love a cursed woman like you, you are so abnormal. I know you killed Cleo as a pay back and also to have me all to yourself, but let me make it clear to you. It will never happen. The whole drama has ended and it will end finally here and now because I am going to end your life just as you ended that of Cleo. I don’t understand you George, you want to end my life? She asked shivering and fighting to go off his grips. “Yes Becky, I am going to kill you here and now” George replied.

EPISODE 8

“George don’t kill me please, remember all we shared, we were in love, I saw love written all over you without been told, reconsider please” she pleaded as she struggled with him to be released from his grips.

I have told you to stop deceiving yourself, I don’t love you and I can never love you, you killed my wife and you are here talking about love, what rubbish do you think you are saying” George said to her. He heard a sound on the gate; he left her alone, shot her and ran away through the back gate. She lied lifeless on the ground.

The gate opened and it was Brenda and the police who came to check on her. Brenda had called the police because she was confused on why Becky was panicking while talking to her on phone earlier. They picked her up from the ground and rushed her to the hospital. She was still breathing. The doctor was able to treat the wounds she generated from the gunshots.

Previously on BEHIND SHADES: We see, anyway the Miss Becky you are looking for, doesn't live here, maybe you should check the next compound” Brenda replied them. “Oh My God, Brenda stop, stop it. I am sorry police officers, I am Miss Becky, you said am needed for questioning? She asked them. Yes you are” they replied. Okay no problem, we will be at the station shortly. “No ma, you have to come with us immediately” one of the men replied.

EPISODE 7

Becky got to the station and was being interrogated by one of the police officers. “Miss Becky, we are aware of the grief you hold for Cleo and we know that you are capable of getting hold of what you want whenever you want it. So tell us the truth, you killed her right?.

“I don’t know what you people are talking about, I don’t have anything to do with Cleo’s death. I am innocent” Becky replied in fear. “And why should we believe you? Do you have any proof that you are innocent” the man asked. She tried to convince them that she was innocent, but no one seems to believe her. After several hours of interrogation and trying to get the truth from her, she was released to go home and placed under close watch.

She sat on her stair case in her compound and pondering on her next move and why no one believes her, a strange shadow showed up beside her. “Who is there, is anyone there?” she stood up and checked round and saw no one. She heard footsteps. She asked who was there again, but all she kept hearing was the loud beat her heart was producing out of fear. “Maybe the people who killed Cleo is after me as well” she thought to herself.

She went into the house and kept hearing objects moving. She was so scared. She ran out of the house again. Something was after her.

Previously on BEHIND SHADES: Cleo sat in the comfort her sitting room and reading a magazine when she heard a knock on the door. She stood up to see who is there when she was pushed back inside by a man in all black. She was scared and asked what they wanted. They didn't say a word to her, another man came inside making them two and one sat on the chair. “what do you want, who are you?” She asked them in fear. They looked at each other, smiled and shot her three times and left the house. She died on the shot.

EPISODE 6:

Becky still in shock over hearing the death of Cleo, sat on the stair case leading to her bedroom and was drinking a wine. Many thoughts went through her mind, people would think she was the one who assassinated Cleo her friend, she agreed that she threatened her and that what Cleo did to her was worth killing her but she didn't, even though she had planned on doing so.

She stood up as she heard a knock on the door, she opened and it was Brenda, she was relived, she thought it was the police. ‘Becky, why did you go this far, why did you have to allow law into your hands” Brenda asked as she closed the door behind her.

“Wait oh, I don’t get you, I mean, I don’t understand what you are saying” Becky replied in a surprised face. “Oh please, don’t give me that look, stop pretending, I know you very well, I know you can use your money and power to get anything you want, but not killing your friend” Brenda said.

“Please, please, hold it there, she is not my friend and I didn’t kill her, I didn’t kill Cleo, I wasn’t the one, why can’t somebody just believe me for once, Oh God” Becky screamed.

“And who do you intend to tell that story to, that you didn’t kill Cleo? Who? Anyway, I came here to tell you that if you know what is good for you, know what is good for your life, you better be on the run because Cleo’s murder is undergoing serious investigations. I would advise you leave here, in fact fly out of this country before someone else points out to you and then you will be in jail and am sure you know the sentence of those who Kill” Brenda said walking to the bar.

“Brenda, you have known me for several years even long before we met Cleo at the club. We just met this girl two years ago, yes we knew she was married but we never met her husband, we never knew George was her husband, that’s because he seems to be a busy person and not always at home when we go visiting. Even though, she never even told us his name. If nobody trusts me, Brenda you should, I didn’t kill Cleo, I didn’t send anyone to kill her, maybe she offended someone else and they killed her but not me, believe me. I swear to almighty God.”Becky said in tears.

“Okay, okay, I believe you, but that doesn’t change the fact that you should be on the run, in fact the race should be more than 440. I dey tell you” Brenda said.

Previously on BEHIND SHADES: I sacrificed my family, my love, my husband, for her happiness Brenda. I allowed my husband to sleep with her, to buy her a car, treat her as a lady, at least that’s what she always wanted” Cleo said.“God will punish you, you motherfucking bitch….(Becky storms out in anger and tears). I heard everything, there is no need pretending and lying. I heard everything.

EPISODE 5:

You of all people, I thought you were a friend, a friend who has always wished me to be happy. Becky said in tears and anger in her voice. "Of course I wanted you to be happy and that is why I did what I did". Cleo said defending herself. "I see. You are a big fool, get out of my house right now; I don’t want to ever see you near me again, go away" Becky pushed her out of the house.

"I will go, you can dwell in your cursed life, and your parents know you are cursed that is why they paid me and my husband to make you happy. Thrash". She walks out of the balcony, enters her car and drives off.

Becky still in shock starred at Brenda who was already patting her back. Did you hear that? Becky said. "Calm down, it is going to be fine” Brenda said to her. "No, No, did you hear that? She said my parents paid them for this". She untangles herself from the grips of Brenda and entered her car and drove out.

Becky drove fast into her parents compound and met them on their way out. “Why are you driving like you want to fight someone, hope there is no problem?” her mother asked.

“You have a whole lot of explanation to do, Cleo said you know something about George leaving me or something, I didn't understand. so i came here for authentic explanation and none of you should leave out any detail” she replied. Her parents looked at themselves and were looking confused. “Will you come inside and let’s explain to you properly, you are getting it all wrong. Please come inside let’s talk” her father replied.

They all walked inside, sat down and took a long pause, looking disappointed, they didn't know where to start from. “we know how you feel, Cleo has called us to tell us you have found out, but we want you to know one thing, we did it for you. We did it because we love you, we did it because we didn’t want you to continue to be frustrated. Yes, we paid Cleo and her husband 10 million naira to make you happy and with the state of the economy, they agreed. It wasn't their fault. He couldn't do it anymore and felt guilty and left the country with his kids, am sure Cleo will be on her way to meet him soon. He never loved you, it was just a plan to fulfill your dream as a woman, to be happy” her mother explained.

“I am confused here, you said you wanted my happiness, you love me and you went this far? I would have preferred to be single than go through this kind of trauma. Do you know what I have been going through mummy?, do you know the kind of shame I have to deal with everywhere I go?" She said in tears. I would have preferred to stay single, mummy, at least no one would have to call me names or know what I am going through, this happened publicly. Everybody, big, small and old was there to witness my engagement party with George and everybody was there to see that he or no one showed up as my husband to be till now"

"This is the height of insolence mummy, there is nothing you did to make me happy,.... Continue reading on http://www.akosaseries.com/2015/07/episode-5-behind-shades.html#more

Previously on BEHIND SHADES: Becky, who was now on the ground was crying bitterly, what if he was dead on his way here? She thought to herself. Where is George? Where is my fiancee?. Everyone left the engagement party in disappointment. She cried uncontrollably.

EPISODE 4:

Weeks passed, George was no where to be found. She cried and cried until there was no more tears in her eyes.

Cleo came visiting everyday to console her, at least that was the only friend who was by her side at this odd moment in her life. “forget him and get your life together, this is not the end of the world, the most important thing now is that this has confirmed that you are not cursed after all, it is just about you being at the right place at the right time so you could meet people who are ready to call on you, love and cherish you. Who could believe that after all the whole drama George pulled he traveled out leaving you here alone” Cleo said.

I don’t want to think about it, I just don’t want to think about it Cleo(in deep tears). I did everything to make him happy, to make the relationship work. Suddenly he disappears. Where do I start from? (she falls on the floor, holds her hair and scatters it).

all of a sudden, Cleo’s phone rings on the table and George’s picture appeared on the screen with name saved as ‘Baby’, Cleo grabbed the phone quickly and cut the call. Becky whose mouth is wide opened in shock said “is that not George picture on your phone, he was the one calling just now”.
What do you mean by that? It isn't him, that’s my husband calling and you could see baby or didn't you see that” Cleo replied her furiously. But…I thought I saw… (Becky stammers). (Someone walks in)

Brenda stood and watched and wondering what was happening. “why am I hearing your voices from the gate” she said. She dumps her hang bag on the cushion and went to the bar, grabbed a glass and poured some drink and walked slowly back to where they were. “why is no one answering me, hope you are no longer crying over that idiot guy, baby, he doesn't deserve you, just let him go, someone better would come for you” Brenda said.

Ask your friend who was the person that called her just now? Becky said and walked away from the sitting room angrily. Brenda starred on in surprise. “Call ke?...i don’t understand, Oh, Cleo, who called you that is making Becky range in anger?”

Don’t mind her, she just assumes everyone is George because they have bears. My husband called me now and she saw it clearly that it was ‘Baby’ I stored the number as and then she assumed the picture that was attached with the name was George” Cleo said.

Ahh, Ahh, is that why she is angry? Na wa for Becky oh” Brenda said. Na real wa for her(Cleo walks to the bar to take a drink, the phone rings again). “your phone is ringing dear (Brenda picks up the phone to hand it over to Cleo who was already coming for it). “Jesus!!! Is this not George” Brenda screamed. Cleo closed her mouth with her hand and dragged her outside. “Shut up, just keep shut, I know it is George, I will explain” Cleo said looking around to make sure no one was watching them.

She knows no man will talk to me at the party, yet she wants to disgrace me. She must be mad. I dropped the call in anger.

EPISODE 2;

If you were in my shoes what would you have done, see I don’t have time for all this rubbish. I don’t want someone to start insulting me because of my issues; you know how girls we girls can be nah. She might start insulting me that no man has talked to me. Abeg ooo...make everybody stay their lane.

On Monday morning, I took a cup of tea and drove out of the house down to my office. As I was driving by I met a friend of mine, Kiki. She was taking her daughter to school. I slowed down the car and whinned down. Hi Kiki. She was shocked to see me; she quickly embarrassed me as I got down from the car. How have you been, she asked me. I have been fine jare, just doing what everyone is doing, “hustling”. “Yeah, yeah, it is good oh, this one that the economy is hard these days” she said. I asked her where she was going and why she was trekking with her little baby. “I had to trek oh, my husband is late for work, so he took the car and couldn’t drop Kate in school as usual, so I had to take my time and then am going to drop her in school myself” she said.

“Do you have only one car? Why na, he should get your own car, I can’t cope with that oh, me and my husband can’t be sharing a car oh, I am too big for that”, I was shocked at the reply she gave me angrily. “That is why no one can never ask you out not to talk of you having a husband” she said and hissed on me and walked away.

What did I say wrong oh... this mouth won’t put me in trouble oh, which kind thing be this na, all this small girls insulting me because they haven’t seen me with any man. Abeg abeg…let this fool not spoil my day. (Drive off). When I got to the office, my secretary was busy smiling at me, the way she greeted me was quiet unusual. I asked her what’s wrong. She said a young man has been waiting to see me and he is waiting at the lobby. Young man ke...when has men started coming to see me. I went into my office and then the so called young man came into my office. Guess who (with a big smile). My father’s client, the one who came to my house the other day that was with Cleo. In fact you need to see how I was shivering with surprise. How are you? I am really surprised at your visit.

“I am very fine dear, was driving pass and I decided to stop by and say Hi” he said. What can I offer you, I have juice, wine, beer and what do you want?

“I want you” he said.

**************************Cut*******************

Wait oh, I don’t understand, is this guy actually here to mock me, or am I dreaming, is he not the same guy that was all over my friend Cleo, so how come he is here now, or he has slept with Cleo and he is now here for me. Make una ask this guy wetin he want now…chai, Becky you have really suffered.

You think so?; but I think you are dreaming. I am not one of the regular girls you see around, I am classy, intelligent, sexy, you can describe me with your own sweetest words.

But does it matter any way…You feel you have the worse challenges ever, because you don’t have money? Or because you are disappointed at some point in your life. Wait…chill…grab a bottle of coke and my story will shock you.
Becky as I am fondly called by my friends is a sweet down to earth lady. I am 28years old, working class lady, working in one of the biggest banks in Lagos. I am very rich and can buy myself anything I wish. Wondering how I got rich at 28? Stop pondering… the answers to all the questions in your mind is coming soon. Just be calm.

You see, in life, a girl just has to rise to the top of her game whether by hook or by crook, she just has to. My parents did me a lot of good by sending me to abroad to study, but they hurt me when they told me I should come back home to work. I came into Nigeria four years ago and it has been heaven in hell for me. Apart from all these lagos wahala here and there I was saddened by the fact that my parents always gave me time to leave the house and when to come back, even as an adult. I was wondering if my life was been controlled like some robot planted in the house. I obeyed sha, afterall I will soon get married and leave the house, so I thought.

One faithful evening, I was in my compound with some couple of friends, we were drinking and chatting so loudly, I felt so good that evening because I didn’t go to work that day. Been such a busy person that I hardly see anyone around me except at work. I was made the manager of the bank with the influence of my father so I even hardly relate with my colleagues.

A car drove into the compound and we all starred to look at who it was. OH MY GOD, see this fine boy as he come out from this expensive car, I was so engrossed starring at his looks more than the car. He was so handsome. He walked into my house and I quickly followed with style. I knew he was one of daddy’s clients. I entered the sitting room where he was already seated. My father introduced me to him immediately he saw me. I was melting , you need to see how my hands were shaking when I shook him. He smiled at me which even killed me more.

Let me take you back on how I have lived in the states all the while.

Previously on the Chronicles of Isioma: After much interrogation, it was Kingsley’s turn to give his own testimony. “I will start by saying sorry, I am really sorry I had to hurt so many people, I regret my actions, and I am so pained. It wasn’t my fault. Isioma is…

Episode 14

Isioma is not my sister. The entire people in court began to murmur. ‘Order!’ the court Bailiff yelled. “what do you mean by Isioma is not your sister? The Jury asked. “Isioma is the only child of her parents. I and our senior sister were both adopted before Isioma was born by her parents. She never got to know though because she was never told.

We were one big happy family; we were never treated as strangers. We were trained in the best of schools but my hatred grew when Isioma was taken to a private university close to the house and our senior sister was sent abroad but I was admitted to a public university. I felt I was not treated right. I thought they hated me and my point was proven when our parents died.

Isioma was given almost all the properties they had and as foolish as she is she donated it to some charity work, claiming that she wanted to work on her own and make her own money. I hated her for that. She was beautiful and I loved her, especially in her night wears. The court murmured again. I did what I did because she wasn’t my sister. So I can’t be charged for incest.

She was also the only one getting most of the love in the house. I was always angry when I see her with guys, because she was so beautiful to be toyed with, I was only protecting her and making her enjoy what the guys deceiving her wanted her to taste. I had to do it before they got to her.

How did you know that Isioma gave her properties to charity organization? And it was okay for you to have raped her rather than other men do it with her, right? David’s lawyer interrupted.

She told us she was giving it out. And yes, as I said before I was only protecting her “Kingsley answered’. If you care to know, the properties were with Kelvin all the while and that was what was sold to do his kidney transplant’ David lawyer said.

Was that your reason for raping her and making her commit suicide? The Jury asked. “Yes and I wish I could turn hand the back of time, I don’t want to go to jail” he said.

My lord I think we have gotten to the end of this hearing, the Jury faced the judge. The judge adjusts himself and looks at his file and said. “With all the cases presented before this court. I hereby charge you with attempted murder of Mr David and Rape. Kingsley is hereby sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour.

The court dismissed and it all ended there. Justice was brought to play. Kate and David went back to his house to see his mother. Isioma could now rest in peace. Kelvin is hale and hearty but with no love life. Isioma is gone and gone forever; she could not come back to him. He lived his life without her and prays he finds someone who he could love the way she loved him.

Celebrities / Toke Makinwa, If You Had Controlled His ‘thing’ With Your Feminity; He Won’t... by Joyakosa(f): 10:08pm On Jun 17, 2015
Oh no! My hands are on my head and shouting ewooo!!. So sad, eyahh, pele, I definitely know how you feel. I am not an advocate of fake news, but if what I am hearing is really true then I am sorry for your misfortune. The news can be false and can be true, we don’t really know, since both party involved have decided to keep mute.

Anyway, my usual way, I will always say the truth and be plain. Toke Makinwa is my role model, in fact I love her so much; so it saddens my heart to hear that your husband whom you love so much and have spent almost 14 years with, cheated on you, well we know that is a norm with men, but he went as far as impregnating his ex. Jesus!!!. The most controversial part of it is that Toke herself hasn’t had an issue for her husband yet he used his thing well inside another woman.

Toke, jokes apart, something don’t seem to be right. While you prefer to be a make up model, ambassador for this and that, showing off at red carpets, anchoring night shows and all of that, your lovely husband has been busy working and calming his manhood inside his ex ‘fridge’. Anyway not my business. but the truth is that a woman should be able to balance her time, with her husband, children and work. Since you have no kids now, then your marriage is too early for you to sell out your home for a total stranger.

According to what Chinwe wrote in an article, she was right when she said “There is absolutely nothing different about this situation because it occurs on a daily basis but the reason why this is a huge deal is because the person-slash-victim in question has painted on social media, a fairytale picture of her marriage, even without being asked. It all happened in a blur anyway.

One minute Toke is announcing she has been engaged and was talking about an impending wedding and the next she is mouthing away about how much she isn’t going back to Maje after their last major breakup and all of a sudden viola! she got married at a registry to Maje despite having said it was impromptu and yet, her specially-made wedding dress fit perfectly.

The designer of the dress would unknowingly goof by blurting out on television that Toke called her 3 days before the wedding, to contract her to make the outfit.

So imagine Maje being caught up in all of it. Living the lie and having to go along with every charade.” Hmmm. Yeah right chinwe.

Toke, let me leave with you a piece of advice; please and please, peradventure you survive your way out of this marital crisis, please behave yourself, keep your love life out of social media, keep your ass at home with your husband and leave gallivanting alone.

Episode 11:

Two weeks has passed and David was not looking like he was recovering, he has been lying on the hospital bed unconscious. The police have been in the search for Kingsley and his gang for the shooting of David.

She sat close to his bed, held his hands and placed her head on his body. She has been praying continually for the recovery of David. She blamed herself for making this to happen. She would have just let herself go than to watch David die and also watch the book go. The doctor walked inside the ward, looking at her in pity. He advised she should go home and refresh herself instead of laying around the hospital.

She hesitated and said she is waiting for David to wake up. He pleaded with her to leave and come back later. Kate left the hospital sad, depressed and down casted.

Few hours later, Isioma appeared and stood close to David’s bed, tears ran through her eyes. Kate was right, it was all her fault, she made all these mess to happen in the first place. David was supposed to be living his life and not going through hell because of her. She thought of Kelvin who was still in prison because of her stupidity. She wished she had never killed herself and making other people suffer for her misfortune. She saw David hands moved. She was shocked. She watched closely to see if it was not just her imagination. He moved his hand the second time. She screamed for the doctors but no one could hear her. She called out to him and he slowly opened his eyes. “Isioma” he said in a weak voice. “David, oh my God, you are alive, I am so happy, I am very sorry for putting you through this” Isioma replied him.

“it is not your fault, That witch called Kate is the cause, she betrayed me” he said in a faint voice. “Don’t say that, you should be thanking God that you are alive and not insulting an innocent girl. She was only trying to protect you David. Her life was threatened, it was not her fault. She never meant to hurt you, she has been here the whole while.” Isioma said to him.

He tried to sit up but the stitches he had prevented him from doing so. He laid back until a nurse came in and saw him awake. She ran and called the doctor.

Episode 12:

A cold night, the moon was out so early, David and Kate cuddled so tight, it was their first night in a long while. The way her body existed only where he touched her, the rest of her was smoke. David was now in that state of fire that she loved. She wanted to be burnt and he was ready to make her burn up in strong flames. He felt that he was not into her, he did not know when he ended and she began.

He pressed her to his naked chest and gently went through her thighs, rubbed it in motion, clipped his lips to her and they went down till she began screaming. It was the best night they both had in a while.

David and Kate were out on a date the next day, they have not had a good time for many weeks now. They sat on a round table, drinking, chanting to merry. A Policeman entered the restaurant and called on him. He wasn’t expecting the police. The policeman said ‘Good day, Mr David. We have Kingsley and his men in our custody”.

David stood up quick and smiled. “wow that is a wonderful news, how did you find him?. “he was involved in a robbery operation at Lekki, so we apprehended them before they took off, then we found out he was the same person we have been looking for” the policeman answered. “you don’t know how happy I am right now, we will join you at the station shortly”. David said.

Kate was smiling and said ‘guess the quest is over, at long last, we can now sleep with our two eyes closed’ “it is not over, Kate” David answered. She was shocked at his reply, what else does he want, she wondered to herself. The book has been found, Kingsley apprehended, what more? She asked David.

‘Kelvin, we need to get Kelvin out of that prison real fast. He is dying, he needs to be flown abroad for a kidney transplant as soon as possible” David said sadly. “so how is that your business, I don’t remember you telling me that Isioma instructed you to take care of him” Kate said angrily. David took his drink, sipped it and asked her to change the topic.

Few hours later, David and Kate arrived at the station; Kingsley has been badly tortured and thrown into the cell. The police asked David to get a lawyer because Kelvin can’t be released without appearing in court. “A sick man cannot appear in court, please can you allow us to take him away from here and give him a better treatment. He will appear in court when the need be” David pleaded with the DPO.

The DPO agreed after much more plea and allowed them take Kelvin home.

Episode 10

It was a sunny day at about 11:35am in the morning, David was still on bed, he called Kate’s phone, it was switched off, it was quite on unusual for Kate to switch off her phone. He called her house, she wasn’t there. He wondered where Kate would be. He laid back to sleep before he steps out to go and give the police the book.

Few minutes later, a knock woke him up, he asked who it was, he had Kate’s voice, he smiled, and she was safe after all. He opened the door and what he saw faded his smile. He saw Kate, kingsley and two other guys. “what are you people doing here” David asked angrily. “This is him, you can take the book and go” kate told kingsley. “What nonsense are you saying Kate? I thought you were with me, how can you help and still betray me, why did you bring my enemies here, why” he said sadly. Anyway there is no book here, so you all can leave. David said.

Kingsley pushed the door wide opened, entered the room and pointed a pistol to him, “If you don’t want to die, let us have the book you are about to hand over to the police, do not waste our time” he said. David repeatedly yelled that there was no book with him. Angry David got hold of an object and quickly hit one of the boys to the ground. Kingsley threatened to kill kate if he doesn’t hand over the book. “you can take her for all I care, after all she just proved to me that she doesn’t love me and I meant nothing to her, as for the book, I am not letting you have it and I can bet my life on it” David replied his threat. Kate was already sobbing and scared.

Isioma appeared and was weeping, calling out to David for him to give them the book, that she doesn’t want another of her loved one to die because of her again. “Isioma, I decided to start this quest and I must get to the end. They can’t do crap, stay away from this Isioma, I can handle it” David said. Kingsley laughs at his assumed stupidity and was grieving in anger. The discussion was not yielding any result, he shot David. “Nooooooo” yelled Isioma and kate, Isioma disappeared in anger. Kingsley quickly ransacked the room and found the book where he hid it and ran out of the hotel. David was lying lifeless on the ground. Kate cried and cried. The hotel security came quickly and rushed him to the hospital.

Episode 9:

A very sunny morning, David woke up in his hotel room and was feeling lazy, he laid down staring at the ceiling and figuring out a plan to look for the book. He stood up and walked from door to window in the room. He took his bath, took his bag and left the room, he knew that Kingsley might come back for him. He left the hotel and went to another hotel far from the area and lodged. He went back to the farm to meet the farm owner to see if he could get any useful information but then he didn’t meet the man.

A tall, slim, petite lady was on the farm, she had the eyes that could make the stars shine a thousand times, she wore a very decent dress and her smile was charming, she was feeding her pet at the corner of the farm. “Hello damsel, hi” David greeted. She turned with a gentle smile and replied him. “I know who you are, you are the one that have been making people scared lately, aren’t you?” she said with a warm smile. “How do you mean, I am not a monster” he said. “I was only joking, haba. My name is Kate and I am Mr Otunba’s daughter, the farmer”. David nodded in approval and shaked her hands.

They walked down the farm together, he explained what he came to search for and she understood him. She decided to help him. “My father bought this land from a couple few years back and before my father started cultivating here, they used this place for a farm too, before selling it to him. He is ignorant of what you told him that is why he took the action he took the other day. I would advice we find the couple who sold the land for my father. I can talk him to give me their contact” Kate said. David now happy at the new development thanked her so much.

They started seeing on a regular basis, going to functions together and started falling in love with each other, their love grew so fast. For a week, he abandoned Isioma’s quest and was all over Kate. It was as if they had known before now; he had never felt so loved like he was feeling with Kate. Episode 8:
Kingsley went in search of the stranger who was said to be in town. He strolled down the streets for many hours asking questions that he could not find answers to. He met a woman who lived close to the farmland where the book was said to have been buried and she narrated the incident to him and showed him the hotel where David was staying.

Kingsley made up his mind to find David by all means. He stayed in a bar close by and kept a close eye on David’s hotel in case he was coming outside anytime soon, after few hours he went straight to the hotel and demanded for David’s room. The receptionist at the hotel asked him who he was and Kingsley claimed he was a journalist and interested to help David. She placed a call through to David and informed him that a journalist was around to see him. David wondering why he is drawing attention with his story allowed Kingsley into his room.

I don’t remember calling the media on this issue, how did you know I am here? David asked Kingsley in a straight face. Kingsley explained that he was interested in helping him but he must tell him everything Isioma had told him about herself.

David trusting Kingsley, started the story. “Isioma was raped by her brother several times and his friends also took turns to rape her”. Kingsley at this point knew he was in deep mess because he needed no prophet to tell him that the Isioma was his sister and she was back to avenge her death. David noticing his change of mood, immediately asked what the problem was. “I am wondering how a blood brother can do this, it is very wicked, but I don’t think anyone would believe this story of yours, it looks too unreal” Kingsley said. “I thought so too, but Isioma needs justice and I must help her bring her brother to book. The police arrested her lover, thinking it was him who committed the crime, but there is no prove that he is innocent” David said.

Kingsley started panting; his eyes were full of grief and guilt. He knew that if David gets the proof, he won’t hesitate to bring him down. He decided to ask David if he knows what the proof to Isioma lover’s innocence is. “According to her, she wrote ….Isioma immediately appears and shuts him up as he wanted to speak. “Why don’t you just shut the hell up, must you tell anyone you see your plan, what is your problem, your ruin our plan” Isioma said angrily. Nairaland / General / Students Of UI On Rampage Over Death Of Student by Joyakosa(f): 8:11pm On May 07, 2015
The students of the University of Ibadan are on a protest and have blocked the Mokola-Oojo Road in the Oyo State capital, over the alleged death of a student, Mayowa Alaran, a 200 level student of Human Kinetic.

The cause of the student’s death cannot be immediately ascertained but unconfirmed reports suggest that the student was watching a football march in his hall yesterday being the 6th of may when he suddenly slumped.

He was immediately rushed to the school’s clinic, Jaja Clinic, but were bluntly told by nurses that he won’t be attended to unless they presented his clinic card. The nurses also allegedly asked for money. While this was happening, the victim was still unconscious until he finally gave up the ghost.

There is so much tension in the school as of the time of filing this report. Students have blamed Mayowa’s death on the negligence and nonchalant attitude of the health centre workers. They want the school authority to take action because according to them, this is not the first time a student will die due to the poor attitude of the health workers

Nairaland / General / Update On Earthquake In Nepal; Mount Everest Hit By Avalanche by Joyakosa(f): 1:50am On Apr 26, 2015
A magnitude-7.8 earthquake centered less than 50 miles from Kathmandu rocked Nepal with devastating force Saturday, toppling homes, temples and historic buildings and leaving at least 1,457 people dead, authorities said.

Afterward, whole streets and squares in the nation’s capital and largest city were covered in rubble. Stunned residents stared at temples that were once part of their daily lives and now were flattened to the ground.

Locals and tourists ferreted through mounds of debris in search of survivors. Cheers rose from the piles when people were found alive, but mostly bodies turned up. The injured wound up being treated outside overflowing hospitals, where crowds of people gathered looking for relatives.

Residents, terrorized by a seemingly endless series of aftershocks, huddled in the cold rain overnight for safety. Dozens of bodies were pulled from the nine-story Dharahara tower that came crashing down during the quake. At least 12 bodies were evacuated from a Mount Everest base camp hit by avalanches.

Dharahara-Bhimsen-Tower-after-Earthquake-2015

Death toll likely to rise

The death toll was reported by Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs. But given that the rescue effort is still in its early stages and that people in outlying areas may well have been affected, as well, it seems probable the number will rise.

An estimated 4.6 million people in the region were exposed to tremors from the Nepal earthquake, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said via Twitter. In Nepal, 30 out of 75 districts were affected by the quake.

In neighboring Tibet, roads buckled, buildings collapsed and at least 12 people were killed, China’s state media reported, citing local authorities.

Separately, at least four Chinese citizens in Nepal — two workers with a Chinese company, a tourist and a mountaineer — have been killed, state media reported, citing the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.

Officials in India confirmed at least 34 deaths in three states from the Nepal quake.

The quake struck Saturday at 11:56 a.m. local time (2:11 a.m. ET), occurred at a depth of 9.3 miles, which is considered shallow and more damaging than a deeper quake. It was reported by people in the area as having lasted a long time. One person said he felt as if he were on a ship in rough seas.

Kathmandu, which sits in a valley surrounded by the Himalayas, has a population of about 1 million.

Siobhan Heanue, a reporter with ABC News Australia, told CNN she was wandering an ancient temple complex at the moment of the earthquake. Several temples collapsed around her, she said.

“It’s not too often you find yourself in a situation where you have to run for your life,” Heanue said, adding that she sought shelter under the table of a cafe.”It was utterly terrifying and, of course, the screams and the chaos of people scrambling for shelter around me in utter confusion and despair.”

Celebrities / Actress Anne Njemanze’s Marriage To 2nd Husband Crashes by Joyakosa(f): 1:26am On Apr 26, 2015
According to reports by inside sources, Nollywood actress Anne Njemanze’s second marriage to her husband Silver Ojieson has crashed. According to the sources obviously on Silver’s side, say the marriage crashed because of Anne’s lifestyle. They allege that she refused to drop the lifestyle she picked up from 10 years of living as a single woman, after her marriage with actor Segun Arinze crashed in 2003.

Both parties however, all agree that the marriage has ended. Silver actually moved out of Ann’s home July last year.

According to them, Ann allegedly kept late nights, drank too much and clubbed a lot. A lifestyle that Mr Ojieson who lives a quiet life could not continue with. While some other sources added that Anne might have been under pressure to have child for Ojieson who is said to be the only son.

When Nigeriafilms contacted the actress, she was reluctant to speak and was very cautious if the reporter was her husband’s friend. She had reportedly queried:

“Who are you? Or are you a friend to my husband? Let me understand.”
When it was clear to her that it was just a journalist, she simply said:

“Well, really I don’t care for these things and little gossips.” Other questions that was directed to her, didn’t get any response.

On the other hand, other sources alleged the cause of the crash was the frequent beatings Anne received from Silver. Beatings so severe that she was left injured and hiding. Things got to a stage she even suffered a dislocated shoulder. Their home in Lagos was filled with cries of fighting and serious beatings literally every morning and night.

Ann and lecturer, Silver Ojieson who is younger than her, got married in 2013 and when she was asked in an interview back then in 2013 whether she was afraid that her 2nd marriage might crash again, Ann had said:

“No! I reject it. Me and Silver have our differences, just like other couples do, but it is not enough to say, we no do again. Before we got married, we told ourselves that divorce and separation are no option. I thank Segun Arinze!! Without him I wouldn’t have met my Silver.”
Anne has since gone back to bearing her maiden name on Facebook and changed her relationship status from ”Married”.

Celebrities / EXCLUSIVE: Analysing The Aftermath Of Jesse Jagz’s Chocolate City Exit by Joyakosa(f): 11:32pm On Apr 25, 2015
Diminutive, with an oblong face, looking so much like Jude his elder brother, that one could even mistake them for each other. Interestingly, they are both lyricists and have numerous fans all around Nigeria and beyond.

By Jerry Musa

Jesse Jagz, who has now returned to Chocolate City, has gotten tongues wagging on why he left in the first place. Jesse Garba Abaga, popularly known as Jesse Jagz needs no much introduction to followers of the fast-growing Nigerian music industry. Having cut his teeth in Jos, Plateau State capital, alongside M.I his brother, with the likes of Jeremiah Gyan and D’Jinee among others, the Taraba State indigene has steadily risen through the ranks.

Starting off from a music-crazy environment like Jos, where he began as a church chorister and drummer at age seven, thereafter, he later recorded his first album with a group named Gospel Insanity. Unfortunately, the album never got released, due to group differences. He then began to produce beats and instrumentals professionally and formed another group, called “Eleven Thirty” which became an instant success in Jos. After experimenting with groups and bands, he teamed up with his brother M.I; together they started Inner Hub Studios and by 2006, Jesse started a solo career with a debut-hit
“Africa” that remained a chart-topper on several radio stations in Lagos.

He went on to drop other singles like “Nobody Test Me”, “Bend Down Low”, “Sugar Cane Baby”, and “The
Greatest”, which also proved to be huge success between the year 2006 and 2007. In 2010, Jesse Jagz released his debut album “Jag of All Tradez” under the Chocolate City label. The album did pretty well in Nigeria and Africa, then he became the arrow-head of the record label.

After those exploits, Jagz was notably absent from the music scene in 2011 and 2012. During his absence, the likes of Ice Prince and Brymo became more prominent and turned out several hits. In 2013, Jesse parted ways with Chocolate City and then staged a dramatic return to the music scene with a reggae infused style, spotting a dreadlock like that of a ‘rastaman’.

As an independent artiste, Jagz released the singles “Murder Dem” and “Redemption” in 2013. The singles were released under his new imprint, Jagz Nation, in June 2013, Jesse Jagz released his second album “Jagz Nation Vol 1.” However, the most surprising thing about Jesse Jagz of now, is his new found personality – his new clique, new hairstyle, which in no way portrays hip-hop and his new style of music which is conspicuously tilting off the conventional hip-hop; having a hip-hop-reggae flavour.

Undoubtedly, Jagz is one of the few intellectually-gifted and diversely talented lyricists Nigeria has got at the moment. Little wonder why many now describe him as Nigeria’s Kanye West because of his flirtatious experimentation with different genres of music, from R&B to roots reggae to pop all built on a predominantly hip hop foundation.

Controversially, pundits have detected a decline in the quality of M.I’s lyrics of recent, compared to when he first started. Therefore, they’ve pointed Jesse Jagz as the brain behind those flawless punch lines and that Jagz’s absence has created a large vacuum noticeable, to many. Is Jesse Jagz’ exit of Chocolate City actually responsible for the perceived decline in the quality of M.I’s lyrics as pundits suggest? Only time will tell.

Episode 6

Isioma left David after she told her story, David couldn’t still figure out how he was going to start looking for the Chronicles. He laid in his room, thinking of what he could do to help her, he was down for days, Isioma came to check from time to time on whether he was ready to go in search of the book.

It was raining and David was in his room reading, Isioma appeared and he became scared. “I know I have allowed you into my life but it doesn’t give you the audacity to come in anytime you wish, allow me to think of myself for once” he said feeling scared of her appearance. “why are you harsh, how would I give you notice when am not human, why are you being cruel to me, I have faced a lot when I was alive, the least I want now is more troubles and heart breaks” she said sadly. David then apologized.

The door opened and David jumped up from his bed, it was his mother. “David are you sick, what is wrong with you, are you mad? I have been observing you lately and all I hear you do is talk to yourself, I have been standing outside your room for some minutes, who were you talking to? Eh Dave, who were you talking to?” she shouted at him. David was shocked at her tone, he didn't know what to say, he looked around and told her he was talking to nobody but himself. She doubted him and concluded he needed to be examined. She left his room to call the family doctor.

David lamented to himself “what kind of problem is this, why must I be the one this girl should send, afterall we are not family neither friends, why is what I see in the movies happening to me, na wa ooo”.

************************few hours later****************************

After David’s mother insisted he must be examined, the doctor said there was nothing wrong with him that he was fine. “you see, nothing is wrong with me, mummy abeg leave me alone” he left the sitting room angrily. Getting to his room, he met Isioma already seated on his bed, he stood at the door and starred at her for a long time. “Why are you starring at me, David?” she asked him, “you are very beautiful” he replied. Isioma who was surprised thanked him and said “my beauty now is useless, so get your mind off it, how far have you gone with your thinking, we don’t have much time, let’s look for this book please”. David gazed at her again, he was falling for her already but it was useless, she was untouchable and a spirit, so there was no need to fall so much.

Isioma knew what was on his mind but pretended to be naïve, she was so disappointed that David was already lusting for her even In spirit, but there was no point, she just needed someone to help her get her book and hand it over to the police. His mother walked in again, this time she was so sure of what she saw him doing, he was talking and making gestures to someone, but who was the question. She quietly walked out of the room, David was surprised that she didn’t utter a word, he knew what his mother was capable of and he just wanted to leave the house that minute.

He looked at it and saw it was true, he didn’t even wait for any explanation, he slapped me and called me a bitch. ‘Cheap slot, I never knew you were like this, I thought you were different, I thought you were the good girl you pretend to be, now I know better, Oh my God, how did I even meet you” he continued, pouring out more words that hurt me so much. I was finding a way to explain but he wasn’t ready to pay attention to whatever I had to say, he said there was no explanation for a girl who is HIV positive and pregnant at the same time.

He was so angry that he pushed me to the ground and left the house immediately, I didn’t want to run after him because I didn’t want people to know what was happening. I rolled on the floor in the compound and was crying, his house help was the one consoling me all the while. My sister came into Kelvin’s compound and heard me crying, she came into the sitting room and rushed to hold me, she kept asking what the matter was, I couldn’t speak to her. “why did you leave home to come here, why are you doing this to yourself, Kingsley told me that you must be here, so I came here, what happened to you”. I just stared at her while she was saying all manner of things . When I didn’t give her an answer , she asked the house help and he told her that Kingsley slapped me after I told him I was pregnant.

My sister was shocked, ‘Pregnant? Isi, you are what? continue reading on;

I don’t know if you all read the gist here that Lilan Esoro and Iyanya’s manager, Ubi Franklin are engaged. In case you didn’t know, yes they are, but recentlyrecently, another news filtered online that the wedding might not go as planned because Lilan Esoro deleted all Ubi’s pictures from her instagram page and also deleted her instagram account of over 20,000 followers . Nairaland / General / Nigerians To Be Brought Back Home If Xenophobia Continues In South Africa-aminu by Joyakosa(f): 4:13am On Apr 17, 2015
Following the Xenophobic attack in South Africa, the Federal government said it will consider the option of evacuating Nigerians who are willing to come back home if the xenophobic attacks in South Africa worsens. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali said this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja today April 16th

“If it gets worse it is the duty of our country to make sure our people are brought back and we are taking that duty serious. We are not prepared to allow any of our nationals to be subjected to such inhuman treatment. We are monitoring the situation and will now take action according to the situation that develops,” he said.

The Minister appealed to all Nigerian business owners to close their businesses for now until the situation has been brought under control.

Xenophobia began again after it left more than 61 immigrants dead in 2008 because Some South Africans have accused immigrants of taking jobs and opportunities away from them. The latest violence followed reported comments by Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini, an influential figure among the Zulu ethnic group, that foreigners should “pack their bags” and leave. EPISODE 4:

After I escaped from the house that day, I was so weak to even put my legs firmly to the ground. I felt pity for Ahamdu, who Kingsley had shot dead. He sacrificed his life just for my freedom and I will forever be grateful to him, I heard the gunshot from afar, my heart leaped, I was so scared that he might just be behind me. I hurried the bike man to speed on and went straight to the hospital.

The doctor was not on sit, Nigerian doctors and their wahala, they enjoy keeping people waiting. I was already feeling sick and had severe headache, I sat on the couch and waited for the doctor, thirty minutes later, it was my turn to see the doctor. I went into the office, the smell from the hospital made me even more sick and I was praying the doctor should just hurry.

The way the doctor was staring at me, I was even more scared. She asked me to lay on the bed and she pressed my side, she asked me to go to the lab downstairs and have a pregnancy test, HIV test and a Malaria and Typhoid test done. Hmmm… I know you are thinking what am thinking, yes oh… about 2 hours after they conducted the test, the doctor called me into her office. I knew it was Malaria with the headache that has been torturing me, I knew I might even be admitted into the hospital for intensive treatment, but let me hear from the expert first. “Miss Isioma, how old are you?” she asked. ‘I am 22years old’

“Miss Isioma, tell me a little about yourself” she asked again. At this point, I was starting to wonder, if it was an interview I came for or treatment for my ailment. “I am an orphan, I have a brother and a sister, I am the last child of my late parents, I am in the University of Lagos, I go to school from home since we are close to the school area, that’s all you need to know ma”. If only this doctor knew how I hated this moment, she would go straight to the point.

“Isioma, you are a bright girl and a beautiful one at that, no matter what happens, don’t hate yourself, be strong, you have many dreams to achieve” the doctor said looking at me as if she was mourning someone. “can you go straight to the point ma”

Last week on the Chronicles of Isioma; I was tied on my bed and waiting for the next line of action. What should I do, how do I run, who should I tell, every chance for me to tell Kelvin was being interrupted. I laid there helplessly. I thought to myself, is this really my blood brother? What has come over him? Has he been taking drugs? I am confused as you are on what to do. Wish someone could just give me a clue. missed it? Read EPISODE 1 & 2 HERE

EPISODE 3

My brother left me tied on the bed for days, only came to give me food and tied me back when I finished eating, Kelvin couldn’t reach me, no one to send to call him for me, and he couldn’t even come and check on me, I thought to myself that maybe he didn’t care about me. So I decided to carry my cross by myself. In the afternoon on the third day, I heard a knock downstairs, but I didn’t know who was knocking, all I heard was “she wasn’t around and she has gone out with her friends”. I guess it was Kelvin who finally came to check on me. Kelvin called few of my friends and they said I wasn’t with them, he concluded that I may have gone out with some new friends he might not know.

Few hours later, My brother entered the room with two of his friends, of which one of them have been asking me out and I kept on turning him down, his name is Ejira, and the other was one of their notorious friend . They all sat around me and were laughing. Ejira touched my face with the back of his hand smoothly and was cleaning my tears, “Stop crying, your brother is only doing what is best for you, he hasn’t killed you yet na, try and be calm, and enjoy the ride, it is fun” he said.
