Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by JustJoy0717: 5:12pm On Sep 16, 2023
Hello house,

my sister applied for B1/B2 visa for her 3 kids to travel for summer holidays, they attended interview at Abuja consular office and were granted the visas (she had hers already). The passport for 2 kids were ready for collection one week later, but d oldest kid's own is still at d embassy and each time we call d contact centre or send a mail, the status is always the same -"still under processing". its been over 8 weeks and no word yet from the embassy. What could be wrong, who do we escalate this to?

Any pionters please ?

It's okay to settle especially when there's time crunch to renew your resident permit, which is the case for most people. What's not okay is not striving to becoming better or aim for better positions.

Justwise is only trying to get you to see why people need to take what is available in the moment and then work their way up. For instance, I'm starting with a HCA offer cos I need the sponsorship to put in my application to renew RP that expires January 2023, the "bigger/better" roles are yet to make any offer, no time to keep searching. Take what's available, regularise your stay and then keep searching. I do not intend to remain an HCA for long, I will definitely be moving upwards...that's d plan!

Amarathripple0:

Maybe I’m missing something but telling people to take whatever job because of sponsorship and ILR is still asking people to settle. Anyway, you are right, and if you think I am not making any sense, you are also right.

Hi Mimi,

I got a Band 3 HCA offer but the HR lady I'm liaising with says that they don't sponsor that level unless I'm earning £25060 and that HCA is not on shortlist occupation list. But based on what you've just posted, I see she isn't correct. Can I challenge this with her, and go ahead to request for sponsorship. I really want d job, cos it has prospect for career growth, which is my main focus.

mimilyrics:
What kind of job is it? Is it an HCA role because I know that HCAs are sometimes sponsored at Band 2? Is it on the shortage occupation list? Why is the person not looking for jobs with higher banding now or after spending a few months in this role if the person is just trying to get NHS experience? It is very easy to get stuck at lower bands with low pay in the NHS if desperate. Aside sponsorship, will the person be willing to remain stuck at that level for a while as it can be sometimes difficult to move up bands in the NHS if the current role doesn't give much room to take higher- level responsibilities?

Thank you for the info.

I just cancelled, but yet to be refunded. How long would d refund take?

nellaluv:

If you can chat their customer care, you'll be refunded. That's if you can navigate the app/website to chat with them. Ask them to cancel prime at their end. That sh!t is dodgy. I was refunded by the way

Hey fam,

Would appreciate any heads ups on this. My previous Agency employer gave me my P45 with wrong figures of the numberof months ive worked with him and the amountof tax he's deductedfrom my pay all of those months, I know he's clearly just trying to play smart.
How do I tackle this?

Hi fam,

I need help tweaking with my CV to UK standard. I know this has been discussed before but I am just hoping I can be directed to that contact again.
Thanks

Hello gurus in the house,

I need your input on this on. Just received my 1st electricity bill for a flat i moved into on the 15th of March and it was a ricuclous £296 for 11th march to 29th April. Is this normal, or can i contest it. I live with 2 kids who are in school from 8-4pm, so i must say it was moderate use, except for the period i turned d heaters on.

Please advise.
