Which Nairobi's towers?
I do things to educate myself and not to win or lose. Being fair to myself is one of the principles I adopted before learning.
To be honest, three good sources placed KCB height at 99m. They say where there are two witnesses...
Lemac is 23 floors, counting from the ground floor up to the last floor. It is very glaring from pictures that it's indeed 23 floors and the two sources are right on point.
The other 3 floors are buried under ground. We call it basement. They are inconsequential when the building is measured from the ground floor up to the last floor.
Just direct me to two or three sources that confirmed the building is 126m. On my part, I have checked and everywhere I checked confirmed it is below 90m.
The source I gave you counts only 5 for Nairobi and 5 for Lagos. It was I that double checked to confirm but I discovered 1 was missing on both sides. Teleposta Tower was missing from the list and the ministry of Communication Building was missing from the list.
I added both to each counts. Talk of buildings over 100m high. Africa has only 2 skyscrapers. one in Nairobi and the other in Jo'burg with two more under construction in Nairobi. Meanwhile here is a list of high-rises in Nairobi with over 20 floors. Can Nigeria beat that? Complete Towers 1. Britam - 31 2. UAP - 33 3. Times Tower - 33 4. KICC - 28 5. NSSF building - 28 6. Nyayo House - 27 7. Teleposta Tower - 27 8. Anniversary Tower - 27 9. LéMac - 26 10. 4th Ngong Avenue Tower - 25 11. Co-op Bank House - 25 12. KCB Tower - 24 13. Ambank House - 22 14. UoN Chandaria Tower - 22 15. National Bank Tower - 21 16. King's Distinction Residence Tower - 22 17. Viewpark Tower - 20 18. Hazina Tower - 25 19. Uchumi House - 21 20. Kenya Re Tower - 21 21. Lonrho House - 22 Topped Out 1. Prism Tower - 34 2. Parliament Tower - 26 3. FCB tower - 25 Under Construction 1. Hass Tower 1 - 67 2. Avic Office Tower - 46 3. Hass Tower 2 - 45 4. Montave Tower 1 - 40 5. Montave Tower 2 - 40 6. Hazina Trade Center - 38 7. Avic Hotel Tower - 35 8. Avic Tower 3 - 28 9. Upper Hill Chambers - 26 10. Avic Tower 4 - 25 11. One Place Africa - 24 12. Avic Tower 5 - 24 13. Avic Tower 6. - 24 Total over 20 floors complete and under construction = 37. Nairobi is peerless. |

Marcelo290: Objectively speaking, Nairobi and Mombasa are the only two cities you got, I took my time to research on these other places you posted, only to discover they are just mere towns, some have good touristic appeal though, but these places are visited mainly by foreigners, where then is the chunk of your other citizens? don't make me believe what I've been hearing and seeing on google is true.
In Nigeria we have other cities bustling in business and every social life you can think of, all state capitals in Nigeria have attained some level of development, there are still many more of them like Aba, Warri, Onitsha, Zaria, Nnewi, etc.. Not to mention places like Calabar, Enugu, Owerri, Ibadan, Akure, Kano, Kaduna, Uyo, and many others, not adding other major towns, these are all outside the Lagos, Abuja and Port hacourt you already know, and there are level of social activities and developments going on in all these places..
We are developing more than 40 cities at a time, you now see why most times I find it tiring to engage in dick measuring comparisons with you guys.
In Universities you just got University of Nairobi and Kenyatta university with good structures, here we have UNN, UNILAG, ABU ZARIA, UNIBEN, UI, UNICAL, UNIILORIN, UNIPORT, UNIJOS, UNIUYO, UNIZIK, UNIMAID etc Not including other world class private Universities apart from the federal ones I just listed, including State varsities...
My point is, we got much of everything, while you guys keep boasting with the few you got, none of us live in forests, so you see why these whole arguments sound funny and flawed to me... nevertheless, you guys are making progress, but we are incomparable at least for now. I posted here photos of Kenyan universities other than UoN and KU and every body agreed they were waay more world class than those craps you call UNILAG, IU, UNIBEN and whatever. Thing is, Kenya has way better universities than Nigeria. |

Since when did number of highrises equate to development? London got their first highrise building in 2011. Has that stopped London from being a major financial centre of the world? What shallowness! "London got its first high-rise in 2011" - can these Nigerian kids get any more dumber? |

Shopping malls? They would show you the ones from Nairobi and Mombassa. Still don't know if there are other cities in Kenya. In Nigeria there are other cool places too we hardly talk about like Cross rivers, Enugu, Owerri, and even my small oil city warri. Benin has also improved a lot. There are many more cities l haven't been to as well. That shopping mall has nothing on a Kenyan shopping mall in small Kenyan town. Buffalo Mall Naivasha

Because the other two are below 100m. ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png)
From 10, it has reduced to 9. Now, remove KCB and LéMac and you will have 7(plus the one topped out). Comprehend!? those are the imaginary ones. ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png)
Give me the evidence to show that all the 8 are underconstruction else I will term it another lie. ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) Why are you struggling so hard to remove Nairobi towers? Lol. I&M bank is just over 99m but below 100m. Some sources put it at 99 while others put it at 100. I first included it in the list but when I saw how bad you were struggling I knocked it off to avoid lots of argument. KCB however is 100m and I've given you several posts to show you how LéMac's height was increased. You just pretend not to get it. Interestingly the website you're using to place Nairobi's count to 6 and LéMac at less than 100m places Lagos' count at 5 yet you don't use it to conclude Lagos has only 5 towers over 100m lol. Interestingly the website you use also places many other towers at heights that were long revised (For instance it places Hass tower 1&2 at 212m and 137m yet the heights have been long revised to 320m and 201m). |

These Kenyans think the only thing that can make a mega city is the number of highrise and skyscrapers. Lagos is still the business hub of Africa and Africa's fifth largest economy (if you consider it a country). It is definitely the business capital of Africa. You keep shifting goals when you're beaten and every time we beat you lol. It's you Nigerians who started the high-rise thing. I can see you're trying to escape it after being beaten now. |

To be honest, I really no longer regard SA with awe like in the past, watching all these infrastructural projects going on in Kenya. Whoever will win in the August elections, may the president be the person who will have the capacity to steer this country further to higher levels of development.
Actually SA is still much ahead. Upperhill may be taller but the infrastructure in Sandton is first world. Look at those roads. Their buildings might be shorter too but the architecture is amazing. 2 Likes |

1, This article ranks skyscrapers on the African continent by height. Initially, only a small number of major financial and commercial centers boasted large skylines, such as Lagos, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Harare and Abidjan. However, since the 2000s, skyscrapers have been constructed in many other African cities, including Cairo, Maputo, Abuja, Kampala, Cape Town, Durban, Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, Luanda and Port Louis.
Since 1973, the tallest skyscraper in Africa has been Johannesburg's Carlton Centre, which stands 223 metres (732 ft) tall. However, several taller buildings are proposed.
This list ranks African buildings that stand at least 100 m (328 ft) tall, based on standard height measurements by CTBUH. This includes spires and architectural details, but does not include antenna masts and minarets. Buildings over 150 m (492 ft) tall are highlighted.
Suffry Suffry lie. ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png)

2, @bolded have been found wanting. LéMac Tower is 90m while KCB tower is 99m. Snapshots confirmed I am correct. ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png)
3, As you can see from the snapshots, the blue color placed because confirmed they are still proposed projects. Bhuuuhahaha!
Okay. You win. Hass Tower is still proposed and only 212m high. Avic tower is still proposed and 176m high. Hass Tower 2 is only 137m tall and still proposed. UAP and Britam are still under construction. Happy now? |

If talk about Highrise, you will be slaughter by the numbers of highrise springing up left right and center in Nigeria, especially Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) I see you're avoiding my posts after I gave you all the facts. You Nigerian guys have a bad belief that you're the top in everything hence you never bother to look at the facts. We once did a list of cities with the highest towers over 20 floors in Africa on skyscrapercity and Lagos was nowhere. I can bet you Lagos will be lucky to be half of Nairobi in terms of high-rises too. Port Harcourt I doubt if there is a single high-rise in that city. Just like you're shocked with skyscrapers, towers over 100m so will you be with high-rises. 2 Likes |
