Career / Re: Passion For Motivation Speaker ... Please Help? by kasieD: 2:04pm On Feb 10, 2022
Hello everyone, it has been years since I posted this stuff and I really want to thank everyone who replied me. I tried some of these things but it did not work. I started talking about child abuse for some years, grew an audience before mark disabled my Facebook account so I lost the nerves. I am still speaking but definitely not as a career. I am working in the development sector where I still have the opportunity to speak to people.

Once again, thank you everyone. If any of you is in Abuja. I would love to meet.
Romance / Re: Women, How Do You Feel When You Love A Man But Can't Tell Him? by kasieD: 10:56am On Feb 17, 2018
because i believe in preserving the pride of a woman.. i simply become extremely nice.
i smile at him, will constantly try to do anything to sit with him and talk to him. gives him undivided attention while secretly wishing he understands. flirt with him.. alot of touching on the shoulder ofcourse.
but in a situation where he dosent notice all the red and rainbow signs. i get irritated a little and give up and then stop giving a damn about him.
the few times i did that.. the guys started liking me but then.. i was no longer interested.

is actually fun for me if i like a guy first.

First, what part of speaking do you have passion for.?
If none, Start from there.!

Secound, do you have a mentor.? Someone who's already in the "Motivational Speaking" career. If NO, get one to mentor you.

Third, loving to do something is cool but sadly that's not how purpose is being discovered because as humans, there are lots of things we love to do.

So my question for you is, WHAT IS THAT THING YOU HATE TO SEE HAPPEN.? SUCH THAT WHEN SUCH THING HAPPEN, YOU CAN'T JUST STAND IT AND WILL GIVE ALL YOU'VE GOT TO SEE THAT THING CORRECTED AND NEVER REPEAT ITSELF. Now, that's purpose knocking smiley

Is it DIVORCE, RAPE, INJUSTICE, ILLITERACY, POVERTY just to mention a few. The world is filled with lots of problems already from the education system to governance to religion etc. Pick one and start solving.

I wish You well.! wink
thank you very much

KingEbukasBlog:

1. Research on other motivational speakers , know their names . Most of them are authors , read their books

2. Watch videos of them speaking on YouTube . You can also attend events where you can listen to motivational speakers do their thing .

3. As you go , pick a mentor out of them , one that appeals to you

4. Internalize the way your mentor speaks , his attitude and how well he relates with his listeners

5. Transfigure his style - alter it to suit your uniqueness and develop your own style from there

6. Practice Practice to firmly establish this unique style of yours . Read books that can help you grow your social intelligence - how well you relate with people and even motivate them through your words , facial expressions , body language etc . How to connect with your audience and keep them engaged through out your speech .

7. Work through social media to build your brand . Start a Facebook/Twitter/YouTube channel - you can grow your audience .

8 . Create your own motivational quotes , make your own videos and share through these platforms .

9 Be prepared for criticisms even very harsh ones from the public . Don't internalize them or else they will affect your self-image and you'd lose confidence . A motivational speaker is expected to exude confidence

10 . Remodel your style through the criticisms from the public .

11. You can write your own book as you grow as a way of establishing a good reputation - this is very important

12. Your growth and new found popularity will attract event organizers , schools , churches who need motivational speakers during their programs

Note : Expand your vocabulary , improve your eloquence and grammar . Attend English classes . Know more languages if you have a bigger dream to speak to people of different languages . You can read books like Public Speaking for success by Dale Carnegie to give you ideas on how to develop yourself into a great public speaker .

Goodluck !
thank you very much.

I'm impressed by the quality of responses received so far.

Girl, this is the right time to start it and grow from there.

If you have a chance to join and compete in domestic and hopefully international Toastmasters competition, that would be great..This is one of the most challenging but yet easiest ways to build your brand and practice your craft. I too love public speaking but allowed to much time to go without further building myself or taking it to the next level. Don't do this. Start now.

Another way as someone said is to pick a mentor..This also gives you an easy access to the audience of your mentor. One day, your mentor can wake up and say you will be the one to speak. I attended this guy's event Andy Harrington who is Tony Robins' protege. Tony did this for him and he did it for one Singaporean girl like that.

Pursue this dream, don't let it slip. You will encounter challenges, some will say you're not talented but na lie. That somebody is not well practiced does not mean they are not talented. The same was said about Christiano at Man Uni in his early years. Look at him today....Football Icon.

Good luck girl. Carry go for it.
thank you very much. i appreciate .
so what do u do now. are you still interested in the public speaking. how did you start
