Samantha124: You're judging from pictures. Bananas and plantains have a completely different taste...if you eat a plantain without cooking, you'd know for sure you're eating something raw. The size may not matter, many times a regular plantain is bigger than a regular banana but there are sub species where the reverse is the case. Bananas and plantains are different. 2 Likes |

Been expecting to see some sort of speculations/discussions from the knowledgeable folks on this thread regarding Baba-go-fast's score card on policies such as: - Over 40% increase in electricity tariff - Student loan; requirements to qualify and concomitant effects on general tuition fees - Subsidy removal; how people are trekking nowadays since they can't afford the crappy public bus - 'Regularisation' of Naira to the FX market; resultant effect on basically everything imported And most importantly, how all these will affect the regular man on the street earning 33k minimum wage... From my own end, all I see is taxing on multiple fronts...owo council and owo turning on a grand national scale. Is there a good side to expect in future? I haven't really seen much discourse. Just pictures from oasis (still gloating from his victory), some banter, some small gender fights and a very awkward silence on the pressing issues. I'm honestly asking so me sef can learn. 4 Likes |

Aw, come on. 'Schools in UK' are NOT teaching kids to masturbate. This is sensational journalism. Also, if you think that this 'perversion' is only restricted to the 'West', then you're living under a rock oh. Go to UNILAG and other higher institutions and see signs & wonders. Most peeps in Nigeria are just hiding 'in the closet' because of the societal backlash. Lastly, the letters are currently LGBTQIA+. Yes, it's longer now and still counting...that's what the + is for, I guess. 9 Likes 4 Shares |

afrodoc: I first knew of the phalanx when I saw the movie, 300. The Greek (Spartan) King Leonidas used it to stall the advance of the Persians with just 300 of his best warriors; really surprising his enemies. I also love movies where battles are realistically fought in formations; Prince tells his commander "Get them in line" Commander bellows, "Get the men back into lines" Info is cascaded down to the men at the forefront; "Front line, puuush!" It's really nice watching battle formations and strategies of old. I saw Shaka Zulu too. Lol, they had a traditional distance between warring factions where spears and arrows are thrown at each other. Almost like dodge ball. I think the Shaka was famous for going against that convention with preference for close combat. If you can recommend more movies, I'd appreciate. Prefer more of European empires to Asian dynasty movies. |

GloriousGbola: Thanks. It wasn't really about getting alerts - was about a third party flagging double payments by two companies and alerting those companies that pension was paid into xyz account. Heard it happened to someone who had two jobs and the person lost both. Wanted to confirm if that's possible... knowing that Naija is a funny society...but then again, anything to keep poor people poor, so won't be surprised. Hoping 001 changes that one sha. Looks like he, at the very least, pretends to care about the Nigerian society. |

BlueRayDick: Thanks. I guess what I wanted to confirm is, if there's a party tracking remittance. If company a and b pays pension for January, is there a world where company a and company b gets notified to verify why two companies are paying in pension to same individual? |

Any pension expert in the house? Got a couple of questions; - What happens when you have two RSA pins? - is that even possible? - What happens when you were owed pension and then the company wants to pay back? - Are they obliged to pay back a lump sum? - Does anyone track these pension payments, say for instance, one receives pension from two companies and narration is for the same month? Asking because I heard someone lost his job when the last scenario happened... Is that really true? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Kaycee54321(m): 4:00pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
BlueRayDick: Yes. Yes. I think so too. I was just saying that since the guy from the underfunded uni has to put in more work...then the uni does not play a small factor... It's actually a big factor because you've got to put in that extra work before you can even join the conversation about competing with your peers in the market. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Kaycee54321(m): 3:55pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
BlueRayDick: What I meant to say, isn't an actual nerd. Like, person wey dem dey call jackometer for those kain uni may just be doing same thing an unserious student is doing in a well funded uni. That's what I meant. Someone's actual intelligence and output, while coming from a result of exposure to solid education, can also come from sheer hardwork aided by the individual's natural brainpower. That's a different convo. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Kaycee54321(m): 3:49pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
BlueRayDick: What I was just trying to point out is that the school one attends plays a big role and not a small role in how one's career turns out. A bright student from a public uni will need to work harder than a bright student in a well funded private uni. At least, that's what I think. |

raumdeuter: In mine (which is relatively recent) we faced same. Sometimes, we took courses in a stadium. If you like come, if you like don't come. Even the lecturer will tell you that you can make noise but you should just shift further behind... One of our lecturers normally comes to whisper in class. And if you dare say you can't hear him, you're failing the course. Most people who are making something off that chaos back then were not only brilliant but had to actually put in 2x the work for them to actually have an idea of whatever they were looking to learn. A nerd in FUOYE may just have the same bandwidth in knowledge with an unserious CU graduate. 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: No. What I meant by foundational education isn't the 1+1 in pre college. I meant for instance, someone studying comp sci who actually opens visual studio to code in class...no matter what the lecturer ends up teaching or not teaching...will most likely end up faring better than the regular student who writes obsolete code on paper, uses runs to pass the course of one "wicked lecturer" and gets his first laptop during NYSC. And yes. UNILAG and CU can compete. But what of CU and DELSU? Or UNILAG and Fed Poly Ilaro? Averagely speaking... |
