His relegation to the bench was more as a result of his injuries and the solid partnership that formed between Kos and Per. Those mistakes Vermaelen made in some games are not unusual even for top defenders.

Sad to see him go but I'm glad he went to Barca not Manutd.

The downstream operators (refineries) will fix the price (not the price you see on trading floors) you pay at the pump based on how much they obtain crude oil from upstream markets and cost of refining.

Oil does not have to run out in the next 300 years, in fact it can never completely run out due to the way it is extracted from the ground. But its extraction rate can only go so high before it reaches its peak level of global production, plateau on that level for a while, and then starts the inevitable decline. It is this peak level of production and decline as well as a deteriorating energy return on energy invested (EROEI) on a global scale that some economist find disturbing. Some mathematical models are predicting that we would start feeling the squeeze on the global economy between now and a few years time as a result of peak oil and declining EROEI.

The only reason production will get to peak level and plateau will be because they can't find anything else to produce or extract . Energy companies have been focused on researching and developing new technologies to ensure that they can find oil wherever it exist. As long as they can find it, it will be produced and the "stall and decline" prediction won't happen anytime soon.

Energy companies have been on this for a while now but the problem is, it can't be produced on a commercially viable scale, at least not yet. They will prolly have to sell a barrel for about $10,000 (for example) for it to be profitable; but who will buy that when conventional crude is profitable at $100 a barrel.

There's nothing wrong with critiquing movies, it's to ensure that the same mistakes are avoided in future. Even the movie Titanic was criticized for having visible images of cameramen; now I'm sure the producers double-check scenes with mirrors and reflective glasses to avoid a repetition in subsequent movies.

The second time, while supposedly repeating the SAME SPEECH, he says "The weather in Abuja, a cool 31 degrees celsius...thank you for choosing Flamingo *Airlines, enjoy yourself."

Maybe he wasn't repeating the SAME SPEECH. Pilots usually announce the weather conditions for both the origin and destination and it's not impossible to have the same "cool 31 degrees celsius" in Lagos and Abuja. - * I'll cut them some slack on this*.

wenger went to the etihad to prove arsenal's credentials ain't fluke. city were capitalising on arsenal's passing mistakes. it got to a point where arsene had to decide between doing a damage limitation(accept the loss) or go for it(attack & rescue the game). he chose the latter. city found more space & punished arsenal's mistakes.


arteta wouldn't have been able to stop that.

There are better times to prove it, not when you're going there with tired players who have been airborne for most part of the past 72 hours.

I'm not knocking him much for his substitutions but for the initial omission of Arteta, the damage was done from the jump.

cardiff & sunderland were away games - city are monstrous at the etihad this season. look at the number of league goals they have scored there already. they have been handing it to big teams in numbers.

they have now scored 35 league goals at home in 8 games. that's more than 4 per game. compare it to others & you would know 1,000 arteta's couldn't have stopped today's ašs-whooping. arsenal were lucky aguero didn't complete 90 mins. it could have been more.

had arteta played with the same result, you would be saying wilshere should have started. i don't see how one single player could have prevented 6 goals - that's just pure fantasy. arteta is not roy keane.

Playing it a bit more defensive against a rampant attack wouldn't have left us as exposed as we were today and the Arteta-Flamini combo would have been the best way to tame them. Wenger's gameplan of "attack is the best form of defence" was flawed.
