FIFA’s coronavirus working group will announce its recommendations for club football within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The group, which includes the FIFA administration and top executives from all confederations, wants to be as flexible as possible to make sure all leagues have the best possible chance of completing this season’s fixtures when it is totally safe to do so.

They are also considering proposals to move the dates of transfer windows and to extend the contracts of players who are out of contract at the of June.

The working group is consulting with legal experts and any recommendations they make will have at their heart the health and safety of all players, supporters and everyone who works in football.

This news comes following last week’s announcement by UEFA that it was committed to finishing the 2019/20 season, despite earlier reports that UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, had set a deadline of August 3 to complete all outstanding games.

Friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the loss of a young lady who passed away yesterday in Ogun state in a case of suspected suicide.

The deceased identified as Adewara Damilola Blessings, a purported student of Ogun State Institute Of Technology, Igbesa, reportedly killed herself by drinking deadly insecticide known as sniper, over a yet-to-be determined issue.

A close friend of the deceased identified as Yetunde Oluwatobi Omidiji, revealed that Damilola left no clue for her friends to know before deciding to take her life in such a dramatic way.

Another friend of the deceased, Mhiz Khadeejah Abiodun, took to Facebook to mourn the death.

The Senate chamber of Nigeria’s National Assembly got invaded by some hoodlums while plenary was ongoing and made away with the Mace.

The senate sergeant-at-arms tried to stop them but they overpowered him and in the process, gunshots were reportedly fired.


The attack on the National Assembly might not be unconnected to the recent suspension of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

In the meantime, activities in the Senate has been place on hold and senators are reportedly scampering for safety.

Osinbajo Attends Pastors’ Conference, Says Nigeria Has Bright Future

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday attended 2018 Greater Pastors’ Conference in Ibadan and emphasised that Nigeria has bright future.

Osinbajo, who is a member of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), said the country would be great again in spite of challenges facing it.

He urged Nigerians to assist leaders and the administration with prayers, saying the country would soon be one of the greatest countries in the world.

On the outcome of the conference, the vice president said it was a family meeting where pastoral and national issues were discussed.

According to him, issues on restructuring and security are among what the pastors deliberated upon at the conference.

He said pastors felt that state police was one of those ideas that could further enhance security of lives and property in the country.

He added that the idea for state police and for states to control their resources was good but opined that states should be able to generate more income.

“State governments should make sure that taxes are paid, look at other ways Internally Generated Revenue can be improved and sustained, as well as exercise greater freedom with respect to various aspects of economy,” he advised.

The Nation reports that the Chairman of PFN in Oyo State, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun assured the present administration of support through fervent prayers.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to aggressively look into the issues of security and other challenges facing the nation.

Adelakun, who is the presiding bishop of Victory International Church, cautioned government against the idea of borrowing to finance the nation’s economy.

Dignitaries at the conference were Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and his Deputy, Mr Michael Adeyemo.

Russian businessman Sergei Mavrodi, whose MMM pyramid scheme deprived millions of Russians of their savings in the 1990s, has died of a heart attack, according to Russia media.
