Politics / Re: Dele Momodu: Buhari’s Government Style Is Horrible, Taken Nigeria To Stone Age by kodemann: 3:06am On Nov 13, 2021 |
Dele Momodu's only bit of relevance is that he is the showpiece and an outrider of the elite in Nigeria irrespective of the source of wealth or reputation. Beyond that, he has no substance or relevance. A washed out old school celebrity journalist hopelessly out of touch with the New Nigeria and the revolution of the upcoming youth. As far as I'm concerned, he is simply a relic of yesterday's stale air, bottled in a new case. He can keep his thoughts to himself. He and Buhari are of the same ilk. |

A 'NO' from her is acceptable. She's well within her rights. The slap was a step way too far in the wrong direction. Video ended too early. |

Nigerian pastors are dishonest. That I know. On Sunday I'm sure he will quickly address this by telling sheeple that it's for kingdom investments and the idiots will still keep shouting "My Pastor" while waving handkerchief. Nigerians het what they deserve. 2 Likes |

IS THIS ONE MAD NI? ARE YOU MAD SIR? What is the difference between thief and criminal? WHat is annoying is that upon his release he will come back to Nigeria and still become a celebrity. May God also punish the journalist who even went to interview him, for granting him a loud voice to speak and still influence people from jail. Stupid Invictus. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: The Plight Of HND Holders In The Nigerian Labor Market by kodemann: 7:43pm On Aug 24, 2021 |
Even within the Poly I initially attended, the lecturers that had BSc were much higher on the ladder than the HND holders. It s a systemic problem created by Nigerians for Nigerians. Nigeria is too "somehow". |

Politics / Re: Seven Airlines Got ₦2.84 Billion COVID-19 Stimulus Package – FG by kodemann: 4:17pm On Jul 06, 2021 |
What respect does anyone owe a government official that only cares about the elite of the society? Every time, the aviation industry is bailed out with billions. How about danfo drivers who provide the greater percentage of services to lagos (as a sample) but yet are threatened everyday by agbero, police, fuel hike, high maintenance due to bad roads? Where is their bailout? No bank will lend a driver and conductor money to buy a new bus but the government will easily fork out billions to pay their corrupt friends. Do you know how many airlines have folded up in NIgeria? Do you know how much bailout funds the owners pocketed? If I get a payout of 500m from the government, where is the inventive for me to continue business when I can pocket that money and let the airline rot. I will simply seek bankruptcy protection and move my family out. I've cashed out already. You need to start seeing this government for what they are. NIGERIA IS AN EVIL COUNTRY and people like you who haven't woken up are part of the problem. We are both here on nairaland arguing about insulting them, while they do all they can to screw us over. Wake up fool. As far as I'm concerned, Nigeria will never be alright. Elitism and 'power-tripping' are woven into our culture. And even in bureaucratic setups like the democracy we run, it shows. This move only favors the elite who can afford air travel. This move to bail out airlines is elitist and does not care about the man on the street. Fix the roads, susidize transport, build infrastructure. Let everyone have equal opportunity. NwaEzefuNaMba: |

Programming / Re: Looking For A Data Scientist To Help Me With These Questions by kodemann: 2:52am On Apr 20, 2021 |
This is academic dishonesty at its worst. You could have asked for assistance with concepts - not offer to pay someone to do an assignment for you. Where is the honor? And you Mr. Data Scientist dropping your email address. Just know that the internet never forgets. I'll be posting a screenshots of this on my larger data science group including many nationals; and my Medium blog do folks at least know that not everyone with a Coursera certificate is worth their salt. This is blatant dishonesty and it shows why people outside the country do not believe Nigerians even when you carry prestigious certificates. 2 Likes |

Travel / Re: Panic As Massive Deportation Of Nigerians From Germany Begins Tomorrow by kodemann: 2:42am On Mar 16, 2021 |
"An obvious eyeopener was the December 10, 2020 deportation enforcement. Two young Nigerians, who had trusted and were actively cooperative in the Voluntary Return Program, were brutally deported to Nigeria." *VOLUNTARY RETURN PROGRAM*. Sometimes I wonder if people sit down to analyze simple phrases. It is very clear - if you sign up for this program, you have signaled intention that they do not need to force you to return home. You signed up to RETURN HOME VOLUNTARILY. So it should come as no surprise that they were sent back. If they did not care to understand the consequences of entering a country illegally, then I guess it is not surprising that anyone that they also do not understand the meaning of the term. No brutality here. The statement of this writer is contradictory at its core. No need to read the rest of the article to understand what it's all about. |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Senate Wants Age Limits Scrapped For Job Seekers by kodemann: 12:13am On Jul 17, 2020 |
IF they manage to pull this off, it would be one of the best policies ever. They can set an upper limit for retirement, but not recruitment. A lot of people are not helped by the restrictive school system that keeps many at home for years before they can gain entrance into a university. Upon graduation many have crossed 27/28 and are automatically disqualified from some jobs as a result. Banks are super guilty of age discrimination. What can a 23 year-old do that I cannot do at 28 or 29? 3 Likes |

TV/Movies / Re: Nigerians Groan, Protest DSTV/GOTV Tariff Increase by kodemann: 11:30pm On May 31, 2020 |
Nigerians can fight over nonsense. DSTV is a private business and can fix prices as they want. The protest should be against the Nigerian government that aids and abets criminal monopoly by not taking action to create an environment for healthy competition in the sector. Sorry Nigerians, until you wake up, you will keep getting fkcd by this company where the sun don't shine. 1 Like 1 Share |

So this is a prophecy? That people pay 10% of their salaries for? People are stupid if they cannot figure this out themselves. Of course if you keep sexually matured men and women locked in together for extended periods, you expect higher pregnancy rates. We need brains in Nigeria. Wake up people. |

*Unpopular Opinion* The probability of getting electrocuted while charging your phone is less than 1 in 1,000,000. This because phone chargers are simply RC rectifier circuits that use very little voltage to charge your phone. Even if the insulation of your cable is compromised, there is almost no chance of getting electrocuted because there isn't simply enough voltage for you to feel a thing. Sadly, this event will further contribute to folks carrying the fake news that phones in use while charging is a danger. False. The biggest risk from charging your phone comes not from the charger but the Li-ion battery itself as demonstrated by Samsung a few years back. A bad battery will explode faster than a charger will kill you. *What needs to happen is this:* The police (if they exist) needs to investigate this death thoroughly. I don't like the story, sounds like a load of horse shit. 1 Like |
