Romance / Re: Would You Accept A Break Up Gift? by koolg: 11:34pm On Dec 27, 2014
nieema:
I've been trying to end my 2 year relationship for a few months. There are several reasons but the MAIN reason is that I am NOT happy with myself. I need to make some adjustments to improve my life and I need some space to refocus. I love him but I don't NEED to be in a relationship at this time with anyone. We promised each other that we would always be honest about how we were feeling. I reminded him of this when I tried to break things off six weeks ago. I told him that I would still be there for him if he needed anything. I respect him but I need to take care of some things in my peronal life that require my full attention.
I proposed that we go back to being friends but he rejected my offer. Even though we started as friends he said he isnt willing to have a friendship with me if I end the relationship. I don't think it's fair because I've been genuinely good to him. After much consideration and further frustration, I've decided to break it off tonight face to face. At the moment he is having some financial difficulties and I plan to gift him 40k to help ease the sting. I hope he undersatands that I sincerely care for him as I refocus on my own life.
Would you guys/ladies feel better if your honey left you with a break up gift?..or no??

This OP has written off the guy
Anyway, money answereth all things

Politics / Re: Amaechi is currently leading in the Best Nigerian Governors Polls (join now) by koolg: 12:27pm On Dec 26, 2014
the ratings of the governors can be done based on comparison with each other.
taking a scenario below

governor A receives 10 naira federal allocation
governor B receives 100 naira federal allocation

if governor A offers services worth 6 naira and
governor B provides services worth 50 naira

then governor A wins with 60 percent performance as against the 50 percent performance of governor B

governor B may have built more roads, hospitals, schools, paid salaries etc but the amount of embezzlement is also colossal.

same consideration would apply to internal revenue generation as well. research would be conducted so that the potential capacity is measured against achieved capacity.

I feel corruption index should be the most important factor in assessing these thieving governors.

Romance / Re: Who Says Women Are Not Attracted By What They See? by koolg: 11:04pm On Dec 24, 2014
LaurelP:
I've often heard people say that women are not attracted by what they see. They are according to them, attracted by sweet and romantic words. This is a consensus held by mostly women and some men.

I beg to disagree with this opinion. Women are equally attracted by sight just like men. They however do not react or show it the way men do. If women are not attracted by sight:

Why do they prefer and even crave for handsome men/guys over the average or ugly ones? This happens even here on NL, the handsome guys getting more attention from ladies.

Why do they like or prefer guys who are trendy and follow latest styles in fashion over achaic guys?
this also happens here on Nl.

Why do they die for guys who are rich and drive nice cars, live in nice houses and have good jobs/businesses? Are these things not physical, are they spoken words

Why do they like or prefer confident guys over timid ones?
Is confidence not a physical attribute one can see

Why do they like guys who are always clean and neat instead of dirty guys who are romantic?

Conclusion: There's nobody who doesn't like romantic words, both men and women.
There's also no one who doesn't get attracted to things that look good, both men and women.
So women are also attracted by what they see.

do u get wet by merely seeing a rich guy, a guy with six packs or a clean guy?
NO
meanwhile a man gets an attention on sighting a girl with big ukwu or Bobbi or a girl that oozes sex appeal. these factors just play on the psychy and hormones

that's what the sight-attraction stereotype refers to

a bag of rice plus chicken should cost a maximum of 10k. can someone please confirm the price which fayose's government appropriated to this project? if it falls within the range of 15k to 25k then its all good but if they quoted 50,000 naira then its all wrong

Please, those in the know, after the action, is it advisable to use tissue paper or water. Different folks have their preferences and reasons to back them up.

Politics / Re: Muhammadu Buhari And Goodluck Jonathan Curriculum Vitae by koolg: 6:10pm On Dec 20, 2014
I strongly doubt if CV qualifications is what Nigeria needs at this point in time.
During the 2011 election, some people did not see anything good in Jonathan but I really respect those people now because they were correct, rather than bring about or set in motion the much desired paradigm shift, he has decided that he would rather maintain the status quo of business as usual.
Therefore, let's leave educational attainment and asses these two major contenders for the number one office of the land based on what each one of them as an individual can use the office to achieve for posterity.
The question is; what are the issues confronting the nation? issues like corruption, infrastructure, economic instability, unemployment, insecurity etc, is Buhari going to able to tackle these issues head on given the present circumstances

Tiredwify:
I have a job, earn more than him. He got a loan for our house rent. Anytime i propose tp him that we should start saving, he turns it down. I contribute to d family upkeep. Sometimes, i take care of bills without asking for refund. All i asked him was how he spent his salary for last month . I am yet to collect mine so I cant buy stuffs needed in d house. He told me he used all to settle debts and I asked him if there is any oda debt apart from the one I knew of. He kept mute. I got very angry. Seriously, i am tired of our financial state. That was what brought out the rage in me tonight

some women are just evil and then they will be complaining whereas the problems about which they complain is apparently caused by them.
a woman earns more than her husband yet it's the husband who should take a loan to pay the rent while the woman does what pleases her with her salary yet this woman has the audacity to question the man about how he spends the little remnant.
yet their favorite song is gender equality

Politics / Re: APC Leaders Fail To Agree On Buhari’s Running Mate by koolg: 9:16am On Dec 16, 2014
SaiBuharii:
Firstly, Nairaland has played a role in confusing Nigerians as to the candidate APC has selected, today Ameachi, tomorrow Oshiomole, next tomorrow Fashola etc. And worthy of note is that, APC has not come out to announce who their candidate his, no Nigerian TV station has also categorically stated it in the press, so what Nairaland is doing here is showing APC as not being settled, meanwhile, Nairaland news is the problem here, I implore you to wait and hear from the National publicity Secretary Lai Mohammed.

Secondly, this is a critical decision in the history of Nigeria, it is a decision that determines whether the much needed CHANGE will come up, for the uninformed and enemy of progress, they will tag APC a confused party, meanwhile this is part of the democracy we are talking of...unlike what we have presently where Sambo is a puppet, APC has hyped and really showed that the post of a vice president could determine who wins an election, could determine how the country is being run. Could determine the strength of the government, so expecting them to wake up overnite and bring up a candidate is stupidity on their part. As a Nigerian, I am happy there is actually brainstorming sessions to select who the candidate is...that is a positive omen, it shows things were not planned and being acted out.

Finally I believe the candidates we have been hearing their names are capable, even as vice presidents they are more capable than Jonathan...which is another positive to take home.

We need change in Nigeria, Jonathan has ruled us for 6 years, in less than two years we saw that a sick Yaradua had good intents and was going to work...that took just 2 years for a sick man to show, Jonathan has ruled for 6 years and still wants extra four to rule for 10 years and convince us he is a performer? I am sure you all can see the state of the Nation under him after 6 years. Lets use pur brains!

Politics / Re: Why FG Is Reluctant To Reduce Petrol Price by koolg: 12:10am On Dec 15, 2014
in Nigeria, 'anything goes' and one is left wondering if if we have a government at all.
countries that don't have crude oil will be enjoying low oil prices at this time while it is the elite that enjoy the benefits here.
meanwhile the oil prices will still fall further.
Like many other citizens, I used to be enthusiastic about Jonathan but as it is now, he seems incapable of bringing about the desired change, its still business as usual.
Change seems more imminent with every passing day.
