exxell:

Young Man shut-up! Guns dont kill people. People kill people. Go into true religion and you would understand that "God's time is the best". Mind you, am not supporting laziness or procrastination. But all am telling you is that there is a hand responsible for all we do in this world. That is if you trust in him oo. And leave "Him" in the drivers seat of tour life.

Ogbeni, no one is arguing that his time is not best. we are only saying each individual also has a crucial part to play in what happens in his life. the bible even concurs on this, when certain battles had to won based on action. God didn't come down physically.

I do not believe that the God who gave us a brain intended for us to forgo its use, except you are an evolutionist who projects that we would soon outgrow the need for the brain, a dormant organ, as the dogma for evolution presupposes.

dirtymoney: Religion is the third thing that has kept Nigeria backward, after tribalism and corruption.

On this, I beg to differ. Religion is first on the list

And back then at school.. Some fellowship members would come out to give testimonies of how they did not read, but passed as a result of the holy spirit revealing the answers to exams questions for them in their dream.

Praise the Lord!

Same people are those that enter a bus, and the conductor mistakenly forgets to collect money from them, would prefer to call it ''favour'' instead of drawing the attention of the bus conductor.

Praise the Lord again!

A pastor, who is a head of a parastatal that has vacancies refuses to advertise the position publicly, but takes the information to his church... Members apply and get the job.. And would come out the next sunday to scream ''unmerrited favour''.

The Lord is faithful!

They dont believe in the natural occurence more, a careless driver gets into an accident- they'll say there were blood sucking demons on the road.

Unfortunate driver! his sins have caught up with him!

I was just passing by my neigbourhood the other day, as small beautiful white cat was following me. My first thought was that this cat is homeless and needed a friend, i wanted taking it along untill i met a neigbour who gave me a 6 hour lecture on how witches and wizards manifest in cats.

Didn't you know brother? Even bush babies!

The other day again, a pastor was telling us how God favoured a jobless man by showing him where armed robbers threw away their bank robbery loot, while being chased by the police.

The Lord did it for him!

Religion has made people not just stewpid, but also wicked as well as gullible.
Religion / Re: Do Catholics Worship Mary? by koolJ1(f): 9:43pm On Dec 10, 2013
uboma:

Oh my!!! Did I just break your heart? I'm positive you are a Catholic as well. Anywhere, I see and say things objectively without minding whose ego is altered. I have a couple of friends who are Catholics as well, so I can rightly say that the Catholics worship Mary. Is it right to have the image of Mary or anyone at all, in front of you and you recite the *hail Mary* stuff? That's idolatry gal.

In the Bible, God made it clear to the Isrealites and by extension to all Christians today, that 'no one should make any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in the Heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them nor serve them... Exodus 20: 4, 5 (The King James Version).

Psalm 115:4-8 says 'their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths but they speak not, eyes have they but they see not. They have hands but they handle not, feet have they but they walk not, neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them so is everyone that trusteth in them'. (The Kings James Version).

LOL! Break my heart? Not nearly. I don't do religious arguments as I believe there are a lot of materials for self-enlightenment for whoever wishes to know. U jst spoke out of the depth of innocent ignorance. There is only one true God to whom worship is due, that isn't debatable. That's exactly why catholics do not worship Mary.
Religion / Re: Do Catholics Worship Mary? by koolJ1(f): 10:06am On Dec 10, 2013
uboma: @ op, the answer to your question is "YES". they worship Mary, hence relegating the worship oF the Almighty God to the background.

That's false though. 36000 views equals 36000 people that have checked the thread. But not everyone that has opened this thread wrote the test.

Are u kidding me? Never thought someone would ever contest this. If what u wrote is the case, then why is it called 'views' and not 'viewers'? Huh? Tmany is right and if u opened this thread 100 more times, then that's 100 more views

Still important to meet up with true believers for fellowship , it does not have to be in a 'church' setting.

Well if he's meeting up with fellow 'true believers' then it is a church, be it under a tree or in an eatery

PLs before you mock other ppl about education, just review your post again and tell me how that could be judged to have come from an educated person?
Typical of an airhead trying to sound intelligent but bereft of substance therefore having to compensate by stereotyping and looking down on others - careful of those you underestimate, else you might be in for a rude awakening. angry

Lol airhead? That's a first! If that's typical with the ladies in your life then thankfully, I'm not in your life. What educated person prevents his/her kids from taking vaccines? Doesn't that reek of illiteracy and ignorance? Consider it objectively before spewing bs for all to see
Health / Re: Kano Gets Multimillion Dollar Medical Research Centre by koolJ1(f): 1:06pm On Nov 17, 2013
naptu2: There is another very terrible angle to this story. The news of the deaths of these kids spread across Northern Nigeria. Since then, parents have been very wary of allowing visiting health workers to give their kids drugs. . . . Including immunisation.

This is one of the reasons (though not the only reason) why polio is a big problem in Northern Nigeria.

Finally, someone sensible on this thread
