I have like a confirmed intel that Jumia deals with the suppliers directly so those are the best prices you can get them. Likes of Infinix and many of them only supply to Jumia, how authentic can that be. That reminds me I heard Infinix Zero 3 will be launching on Jumia soon. I can't wait to lay my hands on them. I luv Infinix

Konga is very anoying with their delivery services. They took six weeks to deliver my shoe here in Lagos. Their app is always hanging whenever i use it.

Jumia does not give me any wahala when i use them. I even got the Infinix hot note from their Jumia Mobile Week.

Konga should sit down and take proper lesson from their master, JUMIA.

Business / Re: Are These Rumours True? by krisjin(f): 4:01pm On May 27, 2015

It's not a news anymore that we have had the worst times these past few days in Nigeria. The fuel scarcity in the the country has opened our eyes to see how our economy is solely dependent on Crude oil. We had scarcity of Diesel (DPK), Petrol (PMS) & Cooking Gas. In some areas, Fuel was sold as high as N400 per litre, Diesel at N200/litre and Cooking gas as high as N6K.

We have also seen the BIG boys across the banking industry, Telecommunication and Radio stations closing early due to this menace to our society. To even make matters worse, PHCN also depends on Fuel, so no electricity supply for us to have a good night rest.

Some days ago, I got a post via Jumia channel saying they are not going to Shut down due to Fuel Scarcity. Instead, they promised to deliver all orders to customers swiftly within the stipulated delivery period. They even claim to have enough stock of PMS and diesel as they had earlier envisaged the scarcity. Well, i see this as a good move on the managements part. They are not relenting in giving Nigerians the best of service. Even if we no get Pet to commot, we fit stay house they buy things online. Korrekt JUMIA!

On the other hand, i read on Nairaland saying Konga sent a message to their customers intimating them about a possible Shut Down if the scarcity continues. I now wonder is that the reason why they have come up with a BIG APP SALES CAMPAIGN starting 28th - 1st May, 2015 to enable customers shop via their phone while they shut down temporarily.

Meanwhile, Jumia while still ensuring delivery and continues operations are going to have a week of mobile sales tagged the Jumia Mobile Week Megathon from the 1st - 7th June.

Am just being observant to see what unfolds this coming days. What do we think guys? Is this a show of superiority, good planning and good management decisions? We pray Naija gets better with time as we all welcome and usher in GMB & Prof. Osinbajo. God bless Nigeria!!! Amen!!!

I trust my Jumia anyday anytime. Dey no dey dull sam sam
Phones / Re: HOT! Jumia To Launch Top 2015 Smartphones In Nigeria Jumia Mobile Week Megathon by krisjin(f): 6:08pm On May 21, 2015
TechLector:
Jumia, First African Company to win the world retail award, in partnership with some major Nigeria Smartphone brands has set to host a sales event in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria in the 1st week of June tagged, the Jumia Mobile Week Megathon.

The Jumia Mobile Week Megathon is going to take place from June 1 to June 7, 2015 on your calendar. This is the date of the biggest mobile phones sales event in Nigeria for 2015. Jumia, as we all know to offer its consumers the best prices online for the world’s hottest phone brands ranging from InnJoo, Infinix, Tecno, LG, Samsung, Lenovo, Apple, Wiko and possibly others brands. According to Jumia, the prices will be so low that you will not believe it now.

A number of brands like InnJoo, Infinix, Tecno, LG, Samsung, Lenovo, Apple and possibly Wiko will be launching new phones in Nigeria during this upcoming event.

InnJoo is already set to launch two awesome phones at the event. InnJoo will be launching the InnJoo Fire and Innjoo Max on the first day of the Jumia Mobile Week Megathon. While Infinix is also expected to launch the successor of the Infinix Zero during the Jumia Mobile Week Megathon followed by the music focused Tecno Boom J7 which is expected to be featured prominently Megathon week.

The event will not be complete without the inclusion of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

However, Samsung should not be too comfortable though as there is big possibility that LG could launch its latest flagship phone, the LG G4 during the Jumia Mobile Week Megathon. We guess that the LG G4 is expected to begin its global launch in late May to early June, which falls within the duration of the event.... The best kinda stuffs to buy on jumia are items like extra battery for a phone, screen protector, belt and co.

I once got a shoe that stood at quite a distance from its sole, their clothes are same as aliexpress chinco, memory cards are hardly real capacity.

Now you know better, next time tell the delivery guy to meet you wherever you are, if you don't like the item, don't collect it.

Why una too dey lie anyhow? Make we see prove abeg. Send us ya order details jare!!!
Business / Re: Jumia Forces Competition To Crash Prices by krisjin(f): 5:09pm On May 04, 2015
PrinceZoe:
Being doing some research on prices in Nigerian online stores for a blogpost on a website and discovered some things.

In the last couple of days there has been in Vanguard, Guardian, Business Day newspapers, price comparison website TopCheck and many others the comparisons of prices amongst retail stores with all pointing to Jumia as the retailer that takes the crown. This was received with a consequent massive buzz on social media by customers with the hashtag #bestpriceonjumia which for that period trended as number 1 on social media. NOW we see competition reactively decreasing prices; all hail Jumia the fairy-tale Robin Hood of retail.

According to Jonah Nwokopku, Vanguard Newspapers, “An investigation into some of the prices Jumia offers for some products showed a consistent competitive pricing with even international online retailers like Bestbuy and Amazon. Take for instance the Samsung Galaxy S5, this goes for about N119,000 on Amazon and on Jumia for N95,230”. He also said when talking about the Jumia Fashion category that “More so, in categories like fashion, their prices also beat that of their competition by at least 2 per cent. For instance, a pair of Vanessa’s secret’s shoes which cannot be found anywhere below N9,000 in other online stores is available at N6,495 on ”.

Also Daniel Obi, Business Day also corroborated these facts about best prices found on Jumia not compromising on quality, “The low prices also apply not only to electronics but other products. Jumia customers attest to this. Jumia products are cheaper compared to other online stores without compromise to quality”.

When it began, one would think it was another cheesy trend. But after 5 whole days of that relentless #BestPriceOnJumia twitter trend one can’t help but pause and double check. Indeed! Jumia’s price hype does measure up to reality. And going by the crazy engagement level of social fans, who aggressively tweeted favourite products they found at better prices on Jumia, it is obvious this was more than one of those calculated social campaigns, but a testament to Jumia’s commitment to actually offering highly competitive pricing.

When it comes to the reasons how Jumia is able to offer best prices, these publications name different reasons. One very interesting fact is that online retailers have lower fixed costs so they can offer cheaper products to its customers. Also Jumia has been able to forge lasting and favorable partnerships with the biggest brands who are able to offer Jumia their products at reduced tariffs and sometimes even exclusively. These brands are happy and always willing to work with Jumia due to a proven track record of service delivery, customer satisfaction and guaranteed volume of sales. This leaves no doubt that the Jumia team has the best negotiators within the industry.

In an exciting twist, there was a sudden drop in prices from other competing retail stores and it brings the question, is it really so easy to drop prices over-night just to compete? Did these retailers make money off the back of customers? Maybe these prices are a long-term strategy or only a quick fix reaction to Jumia’s consistent best offerings? Either way we know one thing for sure Jumia is the ‘Robin Hood’ for Nigerian customers.

Na true ooo. Konga is afraid. LOLS
