it seems like the mbc hd will be part of a paytv bouquet,,,,(www.broadcastprome.com/2011/02/06/)

MBC confirms Technosat deal

MBC has confirmed a deal with set top box manufacturer Technosat to BroadcastPro Middle East.

Early last month, BroadcastPro ME broke the story that MBC would be launching an HD bouquet.

The broadcaster is due to sign a deal with Technosat that would make its HD channels available on Technosat STBs.

“Indeed, we’ll be launching a bouquet of MBC HD channels sometime during 2011, although we cannot confirm a date yet due to technical considerations,” clarified Mazen Hayek, official spokesperson, Group Director of PR and Commercial, MBC Group.

Mazen Hayek, Group Director of PR and Commercial, MBC.

“ The channels will be HD versions of current MBC channels that will benefit most from HD broadcast,” he added.

Hayek clarified that the channels would be free-to-air but would be carried on encrypted boxes owing to mandates from US studios.

“Some of the US studios who supply our Western content insist that HD content is encrypted. Therefore, we shall be encrypting the signal and people will need to have a certain type of box or card to decrypt the signal. However, once they have this box or card (one-time purchase) our HD channels will be totally open and free. The content of MBC HD channels will be non-exclusive. We are currently in discussions with several platforms, who are interested to carry the bouquet of MBC HD channels. One of those parties is Technosat, and we envisage closing a non-exclusive deal in the near future,” Hayek added.

Good evening 4llerbuntu,

I was in hurry to get home so don't mind the Kenyan English which is fast forward as we are always in a hurry.

Skysat is a PC satellite tv card also know us A DVB device. For Internet data you can use Eutelsat w3 frequency 12728 V 3000 in our region

How does it work?
You need a telephone connection (dial-up, GPRS or any other) to send data to the Internet. You can use any Internet Service Provider. You will receive data (websites, files) straight on your PC via satellite at high speed.

What do I need?
Dish
Point your dish properly to receive the data e.g on Eutelsat w3 at 7 degree east

DVB Card
A DVB device is a satellite modem. There are both internal (PCI) and external (USB) devices.
An example of DVB decive is Skystar 2 pc satellite tv card.
Telephone line
You need a telephone connection to upload (send) data. You can use any service provider.
Connection Manager software
Access all Internet services at a click on our easy-to-use, user-friendly software like opensky for pay service or via wingate for hacking free Internet from providers.

Wingate 4.30 or any old version is used for the routing of packages. Install wingate with custom Install Option and remember to select Proxyservers option. Just change the MAC and IP Addresses manually, and in wingate in "Interface" option select satellite IP address which was manually used in DVB LanCard--TCP/IP---PROPERTIES.
Pids can be scanned via Progdvb soft. with version 4.48.2
and remember to use Pid scanner module. Put this module in Progdvb Installed folder in Module Section.
Scan the pid's and use LiveInet Soft to scan the Internet Packages.
On Eutelsat w3 satellite this softwares can be used, and all IP Based packages works perfectly.

segzykay:

I have a a full research about how to browse the internet with our decorder at home.Kindly wait for me to get the required materials.I will get back to the whole house soon.

Good evening all,

Segzkykay idea does work mainly on satellite pc cards link Skysat 2 plus others.
The satellite card comes in as a down link as a modem would be required for uplink for internet access. This basically helps one if you do alot of downloads of movies, Music, software where the download speeds are very first.

The other option is where you use the card to download movies, music using a software called sky grabber which basically downloads what data is being streamed for a particular provider. With the sky grabber software you do not need any uplink modem.
The only main downside of Sky grabber software is that most of the data you download is porn.

The are receivers in market which have the option of wifi connection, with this you can cardshare and for the wizkids you hack wifi internet access using some software on your receiver. As of now the world i shifting to internet so brace yourselves for the new frontier.

Below is a snapshot of some of the channels am streaming from Tvweb360

So the idea of Tv internet is possible so is getting free internet access using your sate dish plus satellite pc card. will give you more info soon. For Internet radio streaming the are very many web links. My 2 best web sites are www.1.fm/ and http://radiotime.com/

Good afternoon Omar2010,

The other frequencies on Nilesat 201 will be active from the beginning of November as per my phone call with the guys at Nilesat org in Egypt on Monday. In Limuru Kenya i use a 2.4 offset dish to receive the frequencies on Nilesat 101, 102 and Atlantic bird 4a.

Is your dish solid or Mesh and is it a prime focus dish?
So your movie and series plus News channels will be on in the coming week on Nilesat 201.

Supermanny:

I've been trying to get this sat to work for a few days and having difficulty. I am in Addis Ababa and have 1.8 meter dish. Here Badr 4,6 26E can be attained easily with a very small dish. For Nilesat the elevation of the dish is very low correct? So the center of the dish is almost facing straight up to the sky? I was thinking maybe mounting my dish on a 3 or 4 meter pole would help. Any info helps thanks.

Good afternoon Supermanny,

First try and track Atlantic bird 2 @ 8° West using frequency 11595 V 27500. Once you attain Atlantic bird 2, enter the frequency 11727 H 27500 on Nilesat 201 and elevate your dish 1/2 a centimeter upwards. Once you attain the frequency on Nilesat 201 try out the rest of the other Nilesat frequencies.

Atlantic bird 2 has its beam in Addis Ababa as shown in the image below and will be a good starting point for tracking Nilesat in your region.

Here in Kenya i get Nilesat 101, 102 and Atlantic 4a using a 2.4 offset dish plus Inverto ultra black quad LNB.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Please Stop Paying Monthly Subscription On Satellite Tv. It Is Now Free by Kungu(m): 12:20pm On Oct 14, 2010
Kungu:

Good afternoon PROTOUCH,

I like your idea and would like to offer some enlightenment on Online tv or Watching Live Football Online

Following your favorite football team or league can be as complicated as heart surgery. Between all the rules governing what matches can be watched live and what TV subscriptions and equipment you need, trying to watch football live can be both difficult and expensive. Additionally, watching live football in a crowded bar can be bad for your wallet, really bad your liver, and especially bad for your ability to follow the action closely.

As such, watching live football ONLINE has become the answer to most football fans’ prayers. The quality varies, and the speed of the live football stream depends on your internet connection, as well as the live football site’s own traffic. However, regardless of the quality, watching live football online is much better than missing the match, and if you have the right equipment, it can be just as good as watching on television.

Let’s face it. For many of us, the Internet means one thing and one thing only: free stuff! Whether it’s music, movies, the Internet is like the Holy Grail when it comes to getting stuff for free [torrents]. That even extends to watching free live football online. Which brings us to Peer-To-Peer (P2P) clients.

Watching a free live football stream via a P2P client may be the only option for football fans needing that live experience. As a result, you should be aware of the advantages, as well as the disadvantages, of relying on a free P2P stream when watching live football online.

In P2P technology, each user, while downloading a video stream (usually from a TV station), is simultaneously also uploading that stream to other users, thus contributing to the overall available. As such the more users, the better the video quality. In other words, it pays to go with a well-known and po, r client.

A. Advantages of Live Football Online Streams:

It’s completely FREE! You won’t pay a cent. Unless you get snookered into paying some website that professes to have streaming football for free but, in reality, does nothing more than provide you a list of links to free live football P2P streams available on the Internet.

You get access to stations from all over the world. If you want to watch football, rubgy, foreign films, or Japanese game shows, you will have no shortage of choices.

Since the po, r clients rely on multiple streams, it means that if one stream goes out, you still have others available and won’t miss any action.

B. Disadvantages of Live Football Online Streams:

As with any instance where you get something for free when you could be paying for it, you have to weigh the pros and the cons of engaging in behavior of dubious legality. In the U.S., the use, reproduction, retransmission or rebroadcast of most sporting events is strictly prohibited. In fact, most sporting events will utter that disclaimer in full at some point during their broadcast.

Most organizations have become vigilant about patrolling these streams and shutting them down (especially on Justin TV). Copyright laws are less stringent in other parts of the world (especially in China, where TVU and UUsee are based). However, leagues have been trying to shut down these football streams as well (with varying degrees of success).

Lag time is an issue. In general, with P2P clients, downloading a stream and then uploading it to another user creates lag time. As such, P2P streams will usually be a few minutes behind the original source.

The quality of free football streams can be very unstable. Sometimes, finding a reliable, uninterrupted stream can be more difficult than finding a reliable England #1. There are a couple of reasons for this (the streams, not the England #1). Streams are often shut down in the middle of broadcasting because of copyright issues. Additionally, if the number of users fluctuates wildly during the stream, it will affect the quality and speed of the stream.

Additionally, by its very nature, there is no on-demand service. Since you’re relying on whatever any given channel happens to be broadcasting, then you’re stuck with what you get. So, if you really want to watch that Chelsea/Manchester United match, but you’re stuck with a match between two Qatari teams you’ve never heard of, sorry, you’re out of luck. (Editor’s note: don’t worry… for a match like Chelsea vs. Man United you will always find a gazillion of streams available. Things get more tricky if you’re looking for Scunthorpe Utd vs. Cheltenham Town).

C. Live Football Streaming Basics:

There are two main ways to watch P2P streams. PC users can download one (or several) of the programs listed below. Typically, it will download as a zipped file or an executable file. Double-click on the downloaded file and take it from there. Unfortunately for Mac users, there are only a few programs that will work for you. If you have Windows XP or Vista, as well as the latest version of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player, then you should be able to use any of these programs. Some of them will work with Firefox or with Linux, but you’re better off sticking with the Microsoft family. See? Bill Gates controls our lives when it comes to watching football, too.

Or you can go to a website that hosts live streaming video like www.justin.tv. Each method has its advantages and drawbacks, so you’ll probably want to try out several methods instead of relying on one.

When running P2P programs like Sopcast or TVU (more below), you will typically get an interface that will include a screen and a list of available channels. To take a look at the TVU interface, click here http://pages.tvunetworks.com/channels/#. Sopcast’s interface is similar, but more compact. To take at Sopcast, go here http://www.softpedia.com/progScreens, hot-24855.html. Click on the channel you want to watch and you should be good to go.

A good idea would be to bookmark one of the pages listed below containing football schedules. That way, you can be sure that you’ll never miss a game!

[s]D. P2P Clients for Live Football Streaming:[/s]

1. Sopcast http://www.sopcast.org/

Sopcast is probably the most po, r and well-known P2P client. In order to run it, you must have either Windows Media Player or Real Player and either Firefox or IE. It is VERY difficult to adopt for Mac (believe me, I’ve tried it). It’s possible, but it requires a lot of work and doesn’t always work. Follow this link for more information.http://discussions.apple.com/thread, sageID=5441858

Sopcast boasts “advanced P2P engineering” and “quick buffering, usually between 11-29 seconds, and minimal delays.” Sopcast also gives users the ability to broadcast their own channels, as well as to embed the Sopcast player in websites or software programs.

Sopcast hosts most major channels, like ESPN, Setanta, and Sky Sports. Most leagues and competitions are featured, both live and on delay. Since you’re relying on TV schedules, you’ll have to check on-line to see what’s on. Thankfully, the good folks at All P2P TV http://allp2ptv.org/ have done that for us.

2. TVU Networks www.tvunetworks.com

TVU Networks is based in China, and their TVU Player became po, r during 2006 World Cup when many people in the U.S. used it to watch matches that were not available in the U.S. Like with Sopcast, you must use either Windows XP or Vista as your operating system, but the program supports Linux as well. To view the videos, Windows Media Player 10 is recommended, but Version 9 works, too. IE is the recommended browser, but Firefox users can download a plugin here.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419
There are no Mac versions. Much like with Sopcast, you have to jump through a lot of hoops in order to convert it for use on a Mac.

Unlike other P2P clients, TVU networks uses real-time packet replication, which is very much like P2P file sharing, except that the video is brought to you in real time. Every additional viewer watching a channel helps make the network stronger and helps improve the signal of all the other viewers watching the same channel.

Most TVU channels are free; a small number are available on via monthly subscriptions, payable by credit cards. There are many different networks from countries all over the world, ranging from the U.S. to Italy to China. Sporting events are broadcast both live and on delay (depending on the respective TV schedules). Additionally, TVU boasts a nice interface. The list of available channels is located in a menu-bar on the left and separated by category (Sports, News, Movies, etc.).

3. Other Windows Streams:

PPStream   http://www.ppstream.com/
P2P application with a Chinese interface and an English installation wizard. Includes many Sports channels from China. Still in early stages, and “some pauses and buffering may occur due to video stream quality and limited peer connections.” But if you really want to follow Wang Zhi-Zhi and Bayi Basketball, then this one is for you!

PPMate http://www.ppmate.com/
Boasts many channel options and quick buffering. Also allows users to record live streams with a simple click. Many po, r channels available.

TVAnts http://www.tvants.com/
Another po, r program. Large number of sports channels, particularly football. Original focus was to broadcast Asian channels all over the world, and that’s still their bread-and-butter. Nevertheless, they have ESPN, CCTV Soccer, Star Sports, Sky Sports, etc.

UUSee http://oversea.uusee.com/
Based in China. Mostly in Chinese, so you should only use if you’re fluent.

4 Justin TV
http://www.justin.tv/

Po, r web-based site that broadcasts live events. Users stream videos onto the site that others can watch. Because it’s web-based, both Mac and PC users can access Justin TV.

You can watch most live events on Justin TV, ranging from Premiership matches to La Liga to Brazilian matches. If you click on the “Sports” category, it will usually list the most po, r streams in descending order. You can also use their search engine to find the event you wish to view.

Unfortunately, because of its po, rity, streams get shut down very often. Especially sporting events (in particular PPV events like UFC, WWE, and Boxing). Additionally, the quality can be choppy and poor. Here’s a little tidbit, though: if you understand Spanish, then you should take advantage of the Spanish language streams on Justin.tv (Mexico is VERY lax when it comes to shutting down illegal programs).

5. Veetle
  http://www.veetle.com/ http://soccerlens.com/files/2008/11/veeetle_1.jpg

Excellent web-based site that broadcasts live events. Like Justin TV, users stream videos onto the site, but in this case the quality is very good and broadcasts are in high-definition. Both PC and Mac users can use it, although you might have to download a driver that’s unique to the site. The website has instructions that will guide you through the installation.

Due to their high quality/HD requirements, they choice of channels is rather limited. But it’s a great coup for football fans, and they stream Fox Soccer Channel, Setanta, and Gol TV.

The quality is good, although it does slow down every once in a while. I haven’t had any problems with the streams getting shut down midway through, but I would anticipate that there might be problems as they become more po, r.

6. ITV
http://www.itv.com/

ITV allows viewers to watch programs for free on their website. According to their website, programs are shown as near live as possible, although there are some delays. They show most England international matches for free. I’ve had some trouble getting it to work, but you can watch any of ITV’s programs like Coronation Street, I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here!, The X-Factor, and syndicated programming like Smallville or The Sally Jesse Raphael Show.

Conclusion

Finally, a word of warning: be wary of sites that offer “Streaming Football.” Usually, it’s nothing more than a list of links, similar to the ones above, and will usually cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $7 a month. Chances are, you’re probably going to be relying on these same streams anyway. Why pay $7 a month for the same links when you could get them for free?

As you can see, if you want to watch free live football online, you’ll have a bevy of options to choose from. Indeed, think of it as going to a buffet. You could pay for a reliable service from a network, which would be like going to a nice, classy buffet at a Vegas or Indian casino where you’ll be dining on steak, lobster, and sushi. Or you could rely on the hit-or-miss service of the free P2P clients, which would be like going to the cheap restaurant near your neighborhood where you’ll be fighting off the midnight runs. In the end, you should choose the best live football option for your situation.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Please Stop Paying Monthly Subscription On Satellite Tv. It Is Now Free by Kungu(m): 7:25pm On Oct 10, 2010

[s]A. Advantages of Live Football Online Streams:[/s]

[s]B. Disadvantages of Live Football Online Streams:[/s]

[s]C. Live Football Streaming Basics:[/s]

Have a question. Which is the best lnbf for nilesat. Invercom, inverto or fuji?. A chap from Kenya recommended inverto lnbf to another chap, who then used it and gave testimony of signal improvement. Anyone to confirm or debunk this?

Good afternoon Toba,

Test on Nilesat satellites using Inverto ultra black quad lnb, Invacom quad and fuji extreme gain lnb in Kenya.
The red balloon indicates my location in Kenya.

The best form the three Lnb,s is Inverto Ultra Black Lnb.

With the Inverto ultra black lnb, i was able to lock on most of the frequencies on Nilesat   using a  2.4 offset dish here in Kenya.

With the invacom lnb + its c 120 attachment i was only able to lock on  8 frequenies on Nilesat using a 2.4 prime focus Dish.
The Invacom lnb displayed below is meant for a prime focus satellite dish also know as pan satellite dish.
+[img]http://www.satshop.tv/bilder/produkte/klein/invacomadf-120_Invacom-Adjustable-feed-horn-ADF-120.jpg
[/img] =

On the Fuji lnb i wasn't able to lock on any frequencies on nilesat either on my 2.4 offset or 2.4 prime focus.

So the best fringe satellite reception  lnb from my experience  is Inverto ultra Black quad  followed by Invacom quad and last but not least fuji extreme high gain lnb.
You can get more info on fringe satellite  from the  following link--- http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/fringe-reception-general/

Below is a snapshot of the nilesat channels that i have manged to capture in this neck of the woods.

thank u kungu for your help am in tanzania dar es salaam and i try to setup my 120cm dish and i got the only 1 freq 11727 but abu dhabi 12111 and 12092 it dosent lock so what about u kungu do u still got abu-dhabi

Good morning Twalal,

Yes am still getting Abh-dhabi  pay package
12092v 27500 5/6 S2 (AD sports mux encrypted)
12111H 27500 5/6 S2 (AD sports mux encrypted)

From my experience with fringe satellite  reception, i have noted that areas, like yours, DVB-S2 signal should be more difficult to get then DVB-S signal especially if FEC of the frequecy is @ 5/6.
The solution is to get either a slightly larger offset dish or better still a high gain LNB eg Inverto ultra black or Invacom which work best on fringe satellite reception.  Am awaiting confirmation on reception of Nilesat 201 in tanzania dar es salaam from a fellow sat mate in http://forum.paytv.ro/showthread.php?t=36090&page=285  using either a 1.3 offset of 2.4 prime focus dish.
Thanks again for your confirmation, it goes along way to paint the real picture on the ground.

Blessed day all.

odilibe:

nilesat 201 is not at 7deg yet , according to real live time satellite tracking, www.n2yo.com, is at 6.93degree at moment.

Good evening Odilibe,

Satellites are not always positioned in the exact degree as the waver in between the longitude given by a few degress.
Below is a sample of how satellites maneuver around the Longitude the are located at,

Right now Nilesat 101 is @ 6.96 Degress will Atlantic bird 4 {atlbird 4a as per n2yo.com } is @ 7.21 Degress but both satellites are considered to be in the same orbital position @ 7° West
The wavering in degress during the the course of the day is what cause increase and decrease in satellite signal strength.
Here in kenya i can receive both Nilesat 201 @ 7° West and Atlantic bird 2 @ 8° West using one offset dish plus one LNB in the same position.

Happy viewing
