These South African idiots just gave me a visa valid for only 5 days

The number of days I stated I’m staying on my application

Lol

Other people have been getting 3 months visa

They probably didn't see any other reason to give you a 3 months multiple entry visitors visa, aside from what you stated as your purpose of visit to S.A. It does happen a lot.

Upon checking this app, I noticed that the countries stated that money can be transferred from SA are UK, US, Canada and Australia. No other African countries are included. Is that how it works?

That's the reason I suggested checking it out to see if you can use it. Anyways, you can also try opening a mukuru account, it's also a good option for what you want to do.

Here's the link:

I have lived in Midrand before and I have used them many times. One can get good hotels/guest houses at local rates easily.

This final choice is yours bro.

Very heplful feedback, thanks.

Wondering how many days the hotel booking need to be as i'd have to pay direct to them right? will AirBnB be okay here? and/or any named hotel recommendation in midrand area? to and from flight should be what dates? do i need personal insurance?

Try booking.com. You can get more affordable options there. Five days to two weeks should be okay. Well, what part of Midrand is your destination, look for a place within it or close to it. I don't think insurance is part of your visa requirement.

Smiles. What I meant was that assuming I want to send naira to someone in nigeria and I have rand in my account in SA, is there a way to send the money directly from my account without passing through the usual way of looking for who needs rand in exchange for naira? Hope it's clear now?

Shyft is a digital platform developed by Standard Bank, South Africa, that allows users to manage and exchange foreign currency and make international payments with ease, directly from a mobile app. It’s particularly useful for individuals and businesses who need to transact globally.

The app allows users to send money globally, pay for goods and services in foreign currencies, or transfer funds to their foreign bank accounts with ease.

Payments are fast and can be tracked through the app. The app is backed by Standard Bank, ensuring that users' funds and transactions are protected.

Check them out and see if you can use the app.

Can someone please answer this question genuinely. As in, apart from changing rand/dollar to naira from hand to hand, is there seamless way of sending naira to Nigeria in rands? I don't know if someone understands what I'm trying to say!

Your question is not clear.

Getting a medical insurance here in Nigeria was way too high so I used one in South Africa. Which was less than $500 per year. If you are yet to get one. I can send you more details about it.

Yes, I'm yet to get one. Kindly send more details. Thanks

Hi guys,
Please I'd like to find out a few things from you guys here. I want to apply for S.A study visa and i intend going there for a undergraduate degree program.

So, for medical insurance, can I use any insurance company in S.A or is there a particular S.A company that the embassy requires applicants to use?

Secondly, for proof of sufficient funds, how much do I need to have in my bank account, at least, for study visa? How do I go about the proof of funds process... Can I still apply with a stamped print out of my bank statement?

Do I need to actually purchase a flight ticket ahead?

I intend to rent an apartment though, do I still need to book a hotel?

I will appreciate your detailed responses on these questions and if there are other things I need to know or information that will help me in my visa application process. Kindly share as well.

Interesting. That's the naija mentality.

Na its not but I won't lie you would have to work really hard to catch up especially if you have family responsibilities. A six month course might take you two to three years to finish.

True though. Been deeply focused on the front-end and backend development for some months now. It's been so much fun. The drive is very much alive.
