But why would a doctor kill his patient? To what gain does the Doctor get??

Thank fully I am no longer in active practice. Sometimes the doctor goes the extra mile and the patient and the relatives still fight the doctor.

Only few patients are appreciative

Many doctors too are leaving active practice..

Make Una enjoy.
Health / Re: Doctors Share Alarming Stories Of Attack On Duty In Nigerian Hospitals by Laird(m): 7:02am On Jan 06, 2023
See Doctors are leaving NIGERIAN practice
-Poor Pay
- Overwork
- Excessively work hours in so mcany cases cases
- Bullying in many cases ( Doctors would understand the hierarchy system)
- Migration
- Switching to softer less stressful, less frictional, ore soft, and some times higher paying careers and venturee
- Confrontation and aggression by a lot of patients
- Some patients not understanding health processes and the needs for tests due to being used to quackery that has long standing and predominant in Nigeria
- Some patients having unrealistic expectations

Also I have interacted with patients and colleagues who have utilised in The Western Worlds health care system and the information I got is that over there ,It is not easy to get a specialist appointment or some investigations done without booking even with your money. In Nigeria, a
lot of specialist appointments are faster to get than overseas.

Not saying all Doctors are good and perfect but there are a lot of multi faceted factors . Even a lot of fake doctors and quacks and a lot of people who are not doctors are impersonating as doctors all over Nigeria and the patient sees them and believes they are real doctors

Even My ex landlady who despite knowing my profession still billed me for a single room and i the tenant then still spent almost the rent amount repairing the single room

Would come to the giovernment hospital where I worked and I would stay back after I closed to attend to her child

Would call Me for Free diagnosis and prescription for her child

Knew I spent the rent equivalent on repairing the single room

Still at the next year rent called Me to increase the rent despite all this . Just I year

Doctors pay for licence every year
Find out the cost of doing AACLSand BLS resuscitation course.

Hospitals pay bills every where

The public hospitals doesn't give free treatment or free drugs and does not have enough health manpower and enough facilities. That is the government fault and not the health workers fault

Many are leaving the country and leaving the practice all over the world. The west is using immigration to try to add to their health force.

Does Nigeria have a policy on that. Doctors, Nurses, Sonographers, Radiographers alre leaving the Country

Their unions are busy collecting union dues running into serious millions from both those practicing in Naija and those practicing overseas without adequate representation in my opinion .

Naija health care issues are multi faceted. Before in some states, non indigenes and no. Connected healthcare workers cannot get Naija government health care jobs. Now reverse is the case. Many government facilities are still looking

May patients don't know that sometimes doctors pay for patients bills and drugs because them no dey loud am

I don't blame some relatives sometimes though... The day that they will decide on changing some hospital policies, then the attack might cease..

Many Hospitals puts money first before the lives of individual/ citizens.. I believe that was not what they were taught in school..That was not part of their oath of office especially in a poor country like Nigeria..

How can one see someone that was about to die, instead of at least rescuing the person from the hands of death first without administering full treatment of recovery, they just ignore the person until family members have deposited millions... That's just inhumane behavior...

You won't understand
I have worked In 3 general hospitals, the crowds can be choking. Some people allow things worsen then bring the loved one in a very critical condition. Some things don't have cure. Some because of unrealistic and religiously optimistic ways of thinking do not follow medical instructions, some are encouraged to wish the ailments away.

It's a whole myraid of problems

Is it the General Hospital CEO'S fault? Who told You most general hospitals CEO'S won't need surplus doctors, nurses and manpower. The MD's keep asking the government of which the government has the responsibility to expand training and
employ trained manpower for the public health care system

It is not available and they work with the provision given by the government

About Private Sector
I have even had an organisation bring a patient who almost died but after stabilisation

I waited for some days then sent the bill. It became a topic of dialogue but they paid when I put my foot down that I could not discount further

Private health care is not free. Nigerian patients don't like to pay most times. Most drugs and equipment used in Nigeria is imported from other countries. Private Hospitals and health facilities pay a lot of bills. Generator, electricity, Salaries, Reagents, machine maintenance, taxes, software, stationery, staff, medication , printing costs and they are all paid for in cash not with empathy.

Did a test for a patient and referred based on Urgency. They never came back and paid.
input costs for that test were not recouped .

Nigerians were going to the USA to American Hospitals to give birth and leave without paying paying until American Embassy starting out measures to check such actions

I have spent money accessing healthcare for family members

It is not cheap in the private sector.

Let the government expand health care facilities and staff and take steps to trains and recruit more manpower to the public health system

It's getting to a year now that my wife began starving me of sex. Honestly I can count how many times I sexed my wife in the last two months and in most cases I initiate the engagement.

She sometimes complain that I love sex too much so I have to endure days without sex. As I type, it's morethan a week that we engaged in adult activity. I contemplated seeing another lady but it's against my Christian faith. How do I handle this situation?

At 39 you still stay in your parents house? That's a definition of failure to me. When do you want to start start your life?

Guy na new year before this, start planning of how to move to your own house.

At 26 when I finished my service. One of my cousins asked me to move to a different city so she can help me get a job. She was staying in the heart of the city and in a house almost like a mansion. I had every thing at my disposal except respect. My cousin wi be telling me to go and make noddles for her 15 years old son. My aunty will be telling me to go and buy recharge card for her when her 15 yrs old son dey. I told myself I wld move out after 6 months. Which I did. I moved to a single room apartment in the suburb and it felt like heaven. The freedom, the peace of mind and all that.

It's 7 years ago now and I have been able achieve a lot. I have even started building my own house.

So a 30-year-old who lives at home in a house that belongs to his parents, enjoying free food which his parents can afford to give him, and all else, all while saving up to build his own house which he can then move out into is not a complete man? undecided
So a 30-year-old man living with his parents and paying a portion of the bills for and with them, thereby enabling his parents to have some funds to put away for a nest egg or other issues, is not a complete man? undecided

Why do some of you set these outrageous standards for others? undecided

Dont mind some people

Do You know how much rents cost now

Even some people abroad still stay with their parents

Rents are expensive in most cities in the world

Why spend so much when that money can be channeled to more productive ventures

Between working and saving to start a business or being given capital and connections to start business which is easier.

Most rich people give their children capital and connections and inheritance to make it in life especially the WHITES.

Checkout Tony Blair's son, Joe Bidens son, and so many others, richest man in China's son, Abdul saan rabiu who expanded an inherited empire and so many others

Most of those kids have trainings in many life skills

Trump went to military secondary school

Absolutely Nothing wrong with inherited wealth pls. Don't blame the inherited wealth bt the training u passed on to ur kids.

Everybody is not ment to suffer from scratch to be wise or productive.

Let ur kids inherit not just ur wealth bt ur sense and good character/values also.

Everybody wants to form bill Gates not knowing bill Gates living nothing for his kids still makes his kids 100times more than the average person.

Those are billionaires in dollars, their kids can never be poor even if they give out most of their wealth. The rich are not stupid.

Don't mind Nigerians

Bill gates grandfather owned a bank and his parents were wealthy. His mother used her connections to help him secure his first lucrative contract that blew him up

Warren Buffets father was a senator Abu congressman

Trump expanded his father's real estate empire and was funded by his father who advanced him a million dollars then and still guaranteed the bank loans trump tool

Jeff Bezos was rich but still his parents
( stepfather and his mum)Invested when he was starting Amazon despite him telling them that they might loose their money

Dangote was funded by his Grand father equivalent of 5-20 billion + in todays money

Davido's father invested in his music career when davido was insistent on doing music

Femi Otedola ( DJ cuppy's father) was supported by his father former Lagos State Governor.

Taking a week off to the village. Will go fully local. Local foods, local drinks, local trips like sh*tting in the bush (behind shrubs in those burnt farms after harvest) and bathing in the stream, sleeping on mat under thatched roof, relaxing during the day under the big mango tree in the middle of the family compound. I will gift myself a week away from city life.

I love You as a fellow Nigerian. Please be careful about defecating/sh**tting in the bush because of snakes. Also alligators and crocodiles may be in those streams. Also watch your environment.
