The Senate President is not responsible for the delay in paying state workers salary, those that pelted him with stones did so out of ignorance.
Their argument is simple "considering the wealth he is accumulated, why can't he dispose some to pay salary"
Who does that?
And for those who think it's over for the man in the state, time will tell. angry

Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs South Korea: 2 - 2 @ World Cup 2010, June 22 by lanres1(m): 5:23pm On Jun 21, 2010
To be frank, there is no significant difference between Amodu's pattern and that of Lagerback. Amodu opted for a 4-3-3 formation that was not fruitful. The Super Eagles play better with a 4-4-2 formation. Remember George Finidi/Tijani Babangida and Emmanuel Amuneke/Victor Ikpeba in the flanks. And then, you've got Emeka Ezeugo/Sunday Oliseh/Thompson Oliha in the defensive midfield position. Meanwhile, Mutiu Adepoju or Austin Okocha would play as the attacking midfielder.
What do we have now under these coaches, two defensive midfielders and an attacking player that cannot pass the ball very well. Check out clubs that play a 4-3-3 formation. Chelsea have either Essien/Obi as the holding midfielders. Only one has to play; and then, two offensive midfielders- Ballack and Lampard. Look at Arsenal, Song is a very good defensive midfielder and he is supported by Cesc Fabregas and Nasri or Diaby. Arshavin plays from the left flank and walcott/eboue in the right flank. Robin Van persie because of his skills and goal scoring prowess is used as a lone striker.
Now check the Super Eagles, hardly will you notice Dickson Etuhu who is supposed to be playing the holding role position in the midfield. The other two players in the midfield are Haruna Lukman and Sani Kaita. Haruna plays too deep rather than up front. He cannot pass the ball very well and his tackles are questionable. Sani Kaita on the other hand, reminds me of Garba Lawal, hardly will you notice his contribution on the field of play. In the front, the lone striker is Yakubu Aiyegbeni. Thoug, he has knack for scoring goals and he is unarguably Nigeria's finest striker in the premiership now. But the man has not had it good with the Eagles. Martins on the other hand, always appear to be at the right place at the right time. Since his debut against the Rep. of Ireland has been banging goals for the Eagles. Yet, he has been relegated to the bench. In the wings, we have Ogbuke playing on the left flank as against his preferred role on the right flank. The same thing goes for Obinna Nsofor, playing in an unfamiliar outside right position. One is forced to believe Lagerback is still experimenting.
Going forward, I expect Osaze (he has also been disappointing) to start on the left, Ogbuke on the right. Yakubu to be supported by kalu Uche/Kanu and then Ayila and Etuhu in the midfield. Who knows if the eagles would redeem their image or worst case, chase shadows like they have been doing so far in the tournament.

WHEN THE FOOLISH COACH DECIDED TO LEAVE BENZEMA AND NASRI OUT OF THE FRENCH SQUAD, I KNEW HE WAS HEADING FOR TROUBLE. FOR CHRIST SAKE, BENZEMA PLIES HIS TRADE WITH MADRID (THOUGH HE WASNT A REGULAR) AND WOULD HAVE ADDED SOME BITE UPFRONT. EVEN NIGERIA WENT TO THE WORLD CUP WITH A DANNY SHITTU THAT DID NOT SEE 90 MINS IN A SEASON.
AND WHAT OF NASRI? A FANTASTIC YOUNG LAD WHO PLAYED THE POSITION OF CESC FABREGAS WHEN THE SPANIARD WAS INJURED. I STILL CANNOT FORGET NASRI'S GOAL AGAINST FC PORTO IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

@ Rawe,

If it is actually true that PTconsults scammed you, get a lawyer or better still, find a way of bringing the matter to the EFCC. They would get in touch with the bank and the account officer will fish out the account owner, This is the essence of KYC policy (KNOW-YOUR-CUSTOMER). That is why it is the responsibility of relationship officers in banks to verify and know the kind of customers that they are introducing to the bank. Should the bobble burst, account officers will face the consequence.

I laugh when you believe that you can actually scam anybody by merely giving someone your account no. and think that you can go scot free, PTConsult, think twice.

@Seun,
I guess you need to do a KYC for your car dealers, the likes of PTconsults would make this auto section lose its credibility. Nairalist.com was said to have warned potential buyers about PTconsult. Nairaland could be our own e-bay one day, do not let people like PTconsults dent the image of Nairaland.
Autos / Re: 2008 Toyota Camry Le(new Arrivals) by lanres1(m): 10:46am On Mar 24, 2010
samsanyus:

So, you didn't show us the pedals with reference to toyota recall

http://www.toyota.com/recall/pedal.html

Recently, Toyota announced two safety recalls that cover some of its models. Both recall campaigns address conditions related to the accelerator pedal. The first recall, "Floor Mat Entrapment," regards the potential for an unsecured or incompatible driver's floor mat to interfere with the accelerator pedal and cause it to get stuck in the wide-open position.

The second recall, "Pedal," is being conducted because there is a possibility that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms may mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position.

As part of the recall campaign, new car sales of vehicles subject to the pedal recall have been temporarily suspended until the problem is remedied

Toyota’s accelerator pedal recall and suspension of sales is confined to the following Toyota Division vehicles:
Certain 2009-2010 RAV4
Certain 2009-2010 Corolla
2009-2010 Matrix
2005-2010 Avalon
Certain 2007-2010 Camry

Certain 2010 Highlander
2007-2010 Tundra
2008-2010 Sequoia
Highlander hybrids and Camry hybrids are not affected by this action and will remain for sale.
Further, Camry, RAV4, Corolla and Highlander vehicles with VINs that begin with "J" are not affected.

The above refers. Samsanyus actually made a valid point which was overlooked by most nairalanders. The information below are the open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns that have not yet been completed for your vehicle:
VEHICLE: 2008 Camry 4T1BE46K28U225014

1. SAFETY RECALL A0A - ACCELERATOR PEDAL REINFORCEMENT BAR INSTALLATION
Code: A0A
Memo
This is an important Safety Recall. Please contact your authorized Toyota dealer to install the precision-cut steel reinforcement bar into the accelerator pedal assembly as soon as possible.

For additional information regarding our Floor Mat Interference with Accelerator Pedal or Accelerator Pedal Reinforcement Bar Installation Recalls, click here. To view FAQs, click here.

2. SAFETY RECALL 90L - POTENTIAL FLOOR MAT INTEFERENCE WITH ACCELERATOR PEDAL
Code: 90L
Memo
This is an important Safety Recall to make it less likely that an unsecured or incompatible driver's floor mat can interfere with the accelerator pedal. Please contact your authorized dealer to have this remedy performed.

For additional information regarding our Floor Mat Interference with Accelerator Pedal or Accelerator Pedal Reinforcement Bar Installation Recalls, click here. To view FAQs, click here.

If you have recently completed any of these campaigns at an authorized Toyota Dealership, please disregard the notification above.

Sorry, but I question the motive of the poster of these pictures. To be frank I cannot see the purpose for this except to dehumanise and brainwash the world and young Nigerian minds that they are yet another set of barbaric Africans. Nigerians are overall good people, they abhor violence which is one of the reasons why some misguided bloodthirsty people have come on this board and called us cowards for not going to war. I think it is also a disgraceful practice to post pictures of people in their unclothed/vulnerable undignified state without their permission or the permission of their relatives. It smacks of arrogance and imperialism to think that they are primitive people without sophistication or natural human rights and we can show them to the world without care.

That the fulanis (predominantly muslims) attacked these innocent women and children did not mean they were fighting another Jihad. The newspaper reported that the attack was a retaliation. Is Fanatics synonymous to Islam alone? How come we dont have Buddhist fanatics killing Xtians,
Jewish Fanatics killing Buddhists,
Ifa Fanatics killing Sango,
Atheist Fanatics killing Hindu?

Were you in offa when a statue was pulled down by Moslems calling it an abomination?

Were you in Oshogbo when Moslems stripped a Masquerade calling the religion an abomination?

So the Offa crisis was between who and who? Moslems and trees?

@dayokanu, you don't get it. Our level of tolerance differs. These guys are extremists, but it is very wrong to refer to all muslims as terrorists. There are fanatics in all religions, but their atrocities enjoy less publicity in the media.
