I'm interested in going into glass recycling, have so much glass bottles for now need buters. Can you connect me with ur mums company. Or just the name will do my research....

steroid:
@ OP I did a research on waste management in 2007. If you want to start recycling in naija it would be interesting but you have to pass thru alot.

Because I used Lagos as the starting point, when I met with commissioner, ministry of environment, she told me that any company that wants to start such a program is free but, the govt will make only land and resources (waste) available. No cash. Also there are many recycling companies in naija, even my mum works in a glass making company and they are also into recycling and she told me that they get empty bottles from nigeria bottling company for recycling.

@ honeycome I would like to be part of your team. I just sent you a skype request

my book a compilation of poems by me is now available for sale on every format available,

here's a review for your conviction

As always, do not let my star count override your judgement of content. More on the stars, counting, and my rating challenges later. A review is one person’s reaction to a work, subject to bias and cultural interpretation. This collection of thirty-four poems opens with one including non-English words and still it somehow works.
For a strange metaphor, turn to Evelyn (Ode to My Guitar.)
For a not-love poem nicely done, turn to Hi, which is an invitation for ‘the one’ to announce herself.
For a scary piece on ‘retribution’ turn to Nemesis.
The prose poem How to Be a Lagosian plays with the reader. Turn to this piece for a good chuckle.
If you’re scrolling for the tiny carps, there might be a typo. Not unusual. Back to the good stuff.
My First Christmas is an admittedly made-up ‘memory,’ in which we find this: “But what confused me most was the red socks that hung on the walls /And the trees within the house /A botanical flaw /But I stayed awake to see the rumoured Santa clause climb down a chimney we never had.”
Santos can do social commentary, as in The World Is Not Itself, which begins by awakening the reader with this: “Historians have started prophesying /And prophets now quote history /The world is not itself anymore /Earth must now spin on Mercury’s axis /Or how well do we explain this heat?” and it goes on much farther than global warming.
Given all that, how do I come up with three stars? My personal guidelines, when doing any review, are as follows: five stars means, roughly equal to best in genre. Rarely given. Four stars means, extremely good. Three stars means, definitely recommendable. I am a tough reviewer. I try hard to be consistent. Santos is a promising new poet, and is clearly recommended here. Your personal rating may be higher.

Politics / Re: The 2015 Political Rate Race: APC, Buhari And The Joker Called Osinbajo by lariostylz(m): 4:04pm On Feb 10, 2015
According to Micheal Lund constitutional democracy is a mesurement for durable peace. While peace, according to the university of peace, can be defined as "political condition that makes justice posible. More strictly peace entails political order"

The question I will ask is, since the begining of the fourth republic in 1999 has Nigeria achieved or come close to achieving constitutional democracy? My answer is NO. And as most political analyst will agree what we cellebrate in Nigeria is a democracy tainted with elements of military governance.
Perhaps it was a mistake to put in power a former General as our first president under this republic. May be if a true civilain had been elected (by Nigerian standards) rule of law and human rights as well as credible elections will be taken with very high importance and not the negligence that spells military dictatorship.

We as Nigerians must be carefull not to push our self to hard so that we fall. We finaly attained a democracy... a very slow process that creates eventual development and peace if we get it right. Nigeria is the way it is because we are yet to get our democracy right. Yet we compare ourselves with more developed and stable countries who have practiced constitutional democracy for decades and centuries. We must first aspire to get our democracy right before we aspire to grow.

It is on this level I question the need and rational of electing another General to futher basterdise our already tainted democracy. Yes we do not need Goodluck we need good governace, but we do not also need a General, the worst of them all in terms of upholding the elements of democracy. One who has promised us security yet his administration was topled in a bloodless coup. He was not security concious enough to prevent such a wonder. A general that stop welferism even at a time when Nigeria was experiencing oil boom. No he does not get my vote but nighter does Dr. Jonathan.

We the youth must wake up to a reality that Nigeria is ours (like the NYSC antem says) and fight to salvage it from those who have been in power since we were children and told us we are the leaders of tomorow, yet will not leave honourably (or dishonourably). The grandpas of Nigerian politics who have turned our deomcracy into a complex military-atristo-gentocracy. We must stand to demand political power. Armed with the potential to solve todays and tomorows problems and our vote let us do wat is right and necessary to save nigeria from distruction for the sake of our unborn children.

Politics / The 2015 Political Rate Race: APC, Buhari And The Joker Called Osinbajo by lariostylz(m): 10:52pm On Dec 30, 2014
It is now a common trend for Christian leaders to prophesy the worse about the New Year, at the dawn of every year, the tabloids are replete with their visions of doom. 2015 is an election year and the warnings have once again flooded in but more gruesome than before. As it is said, when elephants fight it is the grass that suffers, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Goodluck Jonathan and the All Progressive Congress’s (APC) Muhamadu Buhari set for yet the greatest political showdown, there is greater fear and anxiety than ever before.
Despite the warnings of carnage during the upcoming elections one religious leader has displayed courage and stood beside one of the two and probably the most controversial political candidate Nigeria will ever know. The consistency of General Muhamadu Buhari, can also be likened to that of Abraham Lincoln on his journey to presidency. The mistake APC a la Buhari is making is repeating the same steps that was taken during his first presidential campaign when he picked Tunde Bakare as his running mate. It makes no difference who your running mate is or which political party you run with, Nigerians are tired of reproducing old leaders. And while President Jonathan has performed abysmally below expectations, the choice of these two for presidency gives room for a prediction of my own; the 2015 will have the lowest turnout of voters ever in Nigeria’s political history.
But the question is can Buhari’s running mate be the joker that seals the deal? Being a pastor of the Olive Tree House of Prayer for All Nations, Banana Island, a parish of in the biggest church in Africa the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is no small feat, but what do the members of feel about one of their anointed running behind a man who as military head of state showed no favours towards a democracy? He brings the balance to the APC in terms of religious bias, even though many will argue that the selection of a pastor is a noting but a political move, after all who really minds a Vice President. But outside the church who is Yemi Osinbajo?....

we have been saying the same things since, in different parlance, but what are we gonna do bout it? if we were the leaders of tomorrow, yesterday why are we still perplexed over voting our grand fathers... because we have done nothing to take our rightful place. a reformed NYM is the way forward.
NYSC / The Dilema Of The National Youth Corps Service: A Mis-use Of Intellect by lariostylz(m): 11:23pm On Dec 12, 2014
Many Nigerians question the necessity of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in this present age, arguing that the scheme has long outlived its purpose, which was originally adopted against the background of the 1967 civil war by the visionary General Yakubu Gowon to aid national integration vis-a-vis inter-ethnic relations. The idea behind this argument is the continuous state of discord which has plagued the nation even after the NYSC was created forty- four years ago. This year (2014) the state of discord and disunity reach a point that aroused wide spread panic and fears over a possible disintegration of Lord Lugard’s 1914 algalamation (ironically, Lugard’s own Prediction) that brought Nigeria into existence (if Nigeria disintegrates Nigerian fails to exist). This should be an issue every true Nigerian, patriotic and with a nationalist spirit should be concerned about.
Fortunately we have not witnessed another war, we have survived the years as a country, but the dilemma with the National Youth Service Corps is, why is it still in existence if forty-four years later it has not solved the issue of disunity? On another though there may be disunity but no war arising from the crises, so has the NYSC failed in itself? Hence, should it be scraped or continued? I vote for continued, for various reasons.
1. The one year of service to the nation should under normal circumstance spring up the spirit of nationalism, patriotism and love for country and other Nigerians regardless of religion or tribe.
2. It is a way to keep young graduates occupied while they get experience which most companies demand upon employment. The financial packages which is insufficient also helps keep young graduates from becoming nuisances to the society and country.
3. The skill acquisition programme is a good way to equip young Nigerian graduate outside the scope of their degrees, making them more veritable to the society, their families and themselves.
4. The three weeks orientation in which the values of the service corps, especially discipline is inculcated into Nigerian graduates is a good way to create model citizens
One problem with Nigeria is the neglect for philosophy. By adjusting the goals and modus operandi of the NYSC and working on problems and challenges encountered by corps member, its potency can be felt on a wider scale. The biggest challenge one would face as a corps member is accommodation. The ‘corpers lodges’ I have heard of and the few I have been opportuned to see, are an eye sore and unbefitting for decent human existence (even prisoners would deserve better). Sadly a lot of corps members use their federal stipend to pay for accommodation. Sadly also most states do not do anything to alleviate these problems a few do not even pay corps members any stipend, for yet a few the camps are worse than prison yards. Hence, corps members do not enjoy the benefits of the national service. This has caused a lack of respect for the scheme even by corps members and disregard for nation where patriotism should be gained. States should be more proactive in the welfare of corps members since even though they serve the nation, the state enjoys such services (bearing in mind that a person that serves without comfort will serve grudgingly, not giving his best).
But as far as diligent service goes, as a graduate with great potentials one would not want to underemployed or underpaid. As a youth corps member, serving the nation one would especially expect that his/her abilities would be put to good use in building the nation. Certain states have dire needs which can be filled by corps members, while giving them the much needed experience that would be useful to carry on in life. It is admirable that during the three weeks in orientation camps skill acquisition is required, however this is not sufficient in all cases in the making efficient and prosperous Nigerian youth. A state with natural endowments which remain untapped, and is fortunate to receive graduates of geology, industrial chemistry, bio-chemistry etc. as corps members and sends them all to the class room has wasted good intellect and talent and underused their potentials also denying itself of tapping the various resources that corps members have to offer and lost out of a good bargain for development.
With good supervision and mentorship from professionals Corps members can be used to design, build and renovate structures like hospitals, schools (not just as CDS projects) roads, help formulate and implement policies, raise industries commensurate with the states needs and resources and not just as teachers.
Spreading corps members through the society, into all fields of economy will create greater human development and integration especially when they are satisfactorily absorbed not into the society alone but into the economy based on their skills and amply supervised to generate maximum output and productivity. This should be the new focus of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps, not just for peace but for national development.
If truly our leaders today believe that the youth are leaders of tomorrow, then greater attention should be paid to the youths who serve the nation giving more value to the National Youth Service Corps.
