The claim is that there are multiple Nigerian Boeing engineers, the fg can easily service and maintain boeings. The data says otherwise. Add to the fact that our civil aviation is not that big to begin with and then ask yourself what percentage those crashes constitute of the total air fleet in Nigeria.

The planes are not even serviced in Nigeria. The Presiential jet are usually serviced in Germany and France.

LordAdam16:

This year, the official planes of Secretary Blinken and President Trudeau broke down.
Trudeau plane had issues twice in four months and he's had issues with CF1 planes a record four times as PM.
Canada's FG bought 9 planes in 2023.

Nigeria's major issue is transparency.
The authorities are always acting like bandits.
There should be accessible (by FOI requests) EOL estimates and updates on the Presidential fleet composition.

Fleet management is quite involved. Mothballing, adding, or replacing planes should be scheduled way in advance.
Contingency plans should also be established.
For instance, if they really need an emergency replacement, Air Peace operates Boeing 737s and many global lessors and operators will be willing to lease a plane with a minimum contractual duration of a few months to as long as is needed (at a premium). The contracts should be ironed out ahead of time. Not scrambling when unforeseen issues crop up.

For obvious reasons, the optics of buying a jet must be managed carefully. As such, leasing and then planning a budgeted expense is prolly preferred.

That said, the deal itself is quite okay and the A330 is at the lower band of a mission-capable flagship presidential aircraft. Although, I'd have preferred they bought new aircraft and spec it to their operational needs. Buy used for auxiliary units in the fleet.
This rush job of buying whatever is available on the market then retrofitting it within weeks is less than ideal.

At the end of the day, Nigeria's government is WYSIWYG.
There's a shocking level of incompetence that defies reason.

-Lord

Majorly because the govt has eroded whatever goodwill they should be enjoying early into the administration.

Imagine the kind outrage we are seeing buying the lower band of Presidential aircraft, what do you think will happen if they bought brand new with specs?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 7:41pm On Aug 20
BlueRayDick:

Unfortunately an aircraft is not an old shirt or shoe. That’s just another false equivalence .

This is an aviation expert as far back as 2018 talking about the fact that age of aircraft don’t actually matter .

But I know u will not agree with the expert. No wam!

If you check that People Gazette link I dropped, you'll see that it was mentioned that the plane had gone under extensive maintenance 7 times in the last 3yrs and yet it still broke down just 3 months ago.

The President even had to use his private jet when he went to South Africa during their President Inauguration.

Buying a new Presidentinal plane at this point is bad optics but it's a necessity unless the President want to be gambling with his life.

If it is true that the plane has been repeatedly faulty, then it is not wise for the president of a country to be using it. Unless you want Alhaji bone face aka Mr. 8k can change a life, to take over.

And one can't use the fact that some other unfortunate soul will buy it as an excuse. E get certain cars wey i dey see people drive on the road that i can never enter, not to talk of buying.

E get some things in life that one can't pinch pennies on. Airworthiness of a plane is one of them.

This new jet is just about Tinubu living like a king and nothing more .

I’m very sure if they put the old one for sale , some other entity/country/company will buy it and will be put to use . It’s not like whoever buys it will go and scrap it.

All those long paragraphs Bayo Onanuga is saying is just justify their wasteful spending in this austere period

They have put 2 of the Presidential jet on sale.

He abandoned a 19 year old aircraft to buy a 15 year old aircraft as replacement.

Truly he's out to break records.

It's either someone was shiponing money for those Jet maintenance or those doing the maintenance were doing rubbish.

That plane don get fault twice when the President traveled oversea within 6 month and once with the VP that they had to charter a private plane back to the country.

I remember a certain state visit that Tinubu did to an African country that he went in his own personal PJ because the Presidential jet was faulty.

All their explantions are not even Making sense sef. Imagine the NNPC spokesperson saying

If subsidy has not been paid to anyone in the last 9 years as they claimed, then what was Tinubu referring to one year ago when he said " Subsidy is gone"?

If it is the system of "shortfall" clearing which they are now explaining , what has changed since the yeye announcement? Omo! These people no rate us at all. They don't even bother to tell convincing lies anymore

Na just semantics. Nnpc go whine you but no panic.

It was called under-recovery since Buhari made nnpc the sole importer of petroluem in 2015/16. Now they are calling it fx shortfall or whatever.

Just subsidy in another name.

I believe this administration is hellbent on seeing just how much suffering the people can take before revolt just erupt everywhere.

I knew removing fuel subsidy will be bad, I didn't know it will be this worse.

The number of fuel scarcities we have had in one year of Master Planner's tenure, is more than GEJ and Buhari combined.

Instead of addressing the issue, dem dey blame kegs and gallons.

Same thing they did during that December 2022 fuel scarcity.

That Mele Kyari is still NNPCL GCEO still remain a mystery.

Garnacho played on the right yesterday.

And he does not struggle on the left. That is where he has played all his life, right from academy and including his first senior season with us in which he was lauded for his performances as a super sub.

The difference is that he is more unselfish and makes better decisions on the right, since the option to cut in and shoot (which he and Rashy like to do on the left) is not there.

Yes it should be right and not left.

Nah. The pass was not perfect but it should still have been converted. Even if it made it a bit more difficult, it did not make it impossible, and definitely should not have ended with Garnacho missing the goal by several yards.

Imperfect pass. Horrendous miss.

Despite the assist Garnacho did not play well yesterday. I don’t think he is fully fit yet.

He usually struggles on that left side.

EPL Chapter 2024/25, verse 1-to infinity

1 - And lo, the Manchester United faithful did boast and brag, but their words were empty, like the seats at Old Trafford.

2 - For their team did struggle to find consistency, like a ship without a rudder in a stormy sea.

3 - Their star players did sulk and pout, like Bobrisky who doesn't know his gender

4 - And their manager, Sir Ten Hag, did try to steady the ship, but it was like trying to hold water in his hands.

5 - The Red Devils did promise much but deliver little, like a mirage in the desert that vanishes when approached.

6 - Their fans did sing of glory days, but those days were long gone, like the dinosaurs of old.

7 - And so, the Manchester United faithful did live in the past, for they had no future to look forward to.

8 - Their midfield did lack creativity, like a painter without colors, and pilot without sight, and their defense did leak goals like a sieve.

9 - The once-mighty United did stumble and fall, like a giant felled by a tiny arrow.

10 - Their fans did cry out for the return of Sir Alex, but he did ride off into the sunset, leaving them to face the music of his atrocities.

11 - The Glazers did suck the life out of the club, like vampires feasting on blood.

12 - And the team did suffer, like a patient in a coma, unable to wake up.

13 - The Manchester United faithful did cling to past glories, like a drowning man clinging to a liferaft.

14 - But the truth did hurt, like a slap in the face: United were no longer the kings of England, but mere mortals, struggling to keep up.

15 - Thus the Red Devils and the dark forces of darkness unleashed a devastating plague of injuries on their 5 star players, benching them for 5 to 7 months, and their team was plunged into the relegation zone, struggling to stay afloat.

16 - Their cries for help did fall on deaf ears, like a tree falling in an empty forest.

17- And their... (You may add yours)

These are the words of banter from all the blue fans and these are the future event that will take place this season 🤣😂😁

Very easy to spot false prophets.
