Jobs/Vacancies / Re: What Has Become Of The NNPC Recruitment? by legacy4real(f): 8:06am On May 23, 2016
ogashman:
In 2012,the Nigeria national petroleum corporation (NNPC),advertised vacant positions open for recruitment of unemployed Nigerian youths into the corporation.many people applied.I also applied.after applying, we waited with high hopes that sooner than later we were going to be contacted to come for aptitude test.this did not happen until November 2014;over 2 years after applying for the job.finally,on 6th December, we wrote the aptitude test at various centers across the nation.later in February, 2015 those shortlisted for interview were notified by the consultancy firm dat handled the recruitment process, through txt msgs.the prospective interviewees were told that a time and date for the interview would be communicated in due time.subsequently, wen the polity was heated up due the forthcoming elections, another round of text mgs were sent;telling us to hold-on as they(consultancy firm),re constrained and re putting some logistics in place to ensure a smooth process. that a new date will be made known to us.this was the last we heard from them(both NNPC n the consultancy firm).after the elections which PDP lost,it seemed the whole process have been suspended not minding the huge resources govt spent.
I really need answers from those in the know,as to wat has become our fate regarding this.
I could remember vividly wat one elderly nnpc staff who supervised the exam told us.he said they were going to retire DAT year and we re the ones to replace them,DAT we should put in our best.
and I'm tempted to ask;ve they not retired yet?
if they ve,who re those used to replace their various positions?
I also know that people retire every year from the nnpc.and since 2012,no recruitment has be done(except it was done behind the scene).re they telling us that they ve not or do not intend to replace the retired NNPC staff?

some of us spent huge amt of money travelling down to our various exam centres.we spent and energy.
all these can not just be wasted for nothing at least.

If and only if you guys can do what we did when the FAAN recruitment was like this, you would make a rapid progress.

Education / Futa Students Win National Mathematics Competition … To Represent Nigeria In Bul by legacy4real(f): 8:43pm On May 05, 2016
FUTA STUDENTS WIN NATIONAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION
… TO REPRESENT NIGERIA IN BULGARIA

Four Students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, Nigeria will represent the country at the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) being organized by the University College, London and holding in America University, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria between 25th and 29th July, 2016. The FUTA students achieved this feat by coming tops at the 8th National Mathematics Competition for University Students (2016 NAMCUS) in Nigeria which took place in Abuja under the aegis of the National Mathematical Centre. They came first from a pool of twenty-four competing Universities with 96 students which earned them a place in the international competition The FUTA Team from its department of mathematics comprised Michael Omolaja, a 500 level student who clinched a gold medal and the title of Best Student Mathematician across Nigerian Universities, Mary Akinade and Segun Ofe, both 500 level students who won silver medals and Desmond Dike, a 300 level student who picked a bronze medal .Dr. Babatope Omolofe and Mr. Ayodeji Afolabi, lecturers in the Department supervised the team. The International Competition would consist of two sessions of five hours each with problems from the field of Algebra, Real and Complex Analysis, Geometry and Combinatorics with about 80 countries participating.
NAMCUS, which is an annual event initiated by the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Abuja to prepare Nigerian students for the annual International Mathematics Competition for students of higher institutions across the country. The 2016 edition consisted of two papers of six questions drawn from a pool on Abstracts, Algebra, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Functional Analysis and Differential Equations with forty-eight students emerging as medal winners.
Dr Babatope Omolofe, one of the team leaders particularly expressed gratitude to God for the placement of the team. He said the team owed it to God as he saw total commitment to God as their winning ticket. Mr. Ayodeji Afolabi, the other team leader added that the team’s victory showed the stuff FUTA is made off and increases the University’s ranking among its peers. He was hopeful that the team would return with medals from the international competition as he opined that the team has what it takes to hold its own on the global platform.
Disclosing the secret to success, Michael Omolaja, the gold medalist said the team depended on God and worked together to distinguish itself. Omolaja who has a record of tutoring students at Masters and PhD levels is a Fluid Numerical and Complex Analysis major in the making with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.69 and several published journal papers to his credit. Mary Akinade, the female on the team and one of the silver medalists explained that Mathematics is not as difficult as people think. She emphasized that the successful study of Mathematics only demands interest, support, persistent practice and confidence. She has a CGPA of 4.68. According to Segun Ofe who is a second time participant (2015) and the second silver medalist, “it is a privilege to represent Nigeria and we are going to put in our best to make the most of the privilege”. His CGPA is 4.59.The bronze medalist, Desmond Dike who has CGPA of 4.68 said the team selection was a good compliment and that he particularly learnt from team mates in order to give his best.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola while congratulating the team assured the members of total support as they prepare to fly the flag of FUTA and Nigeria in Bulgaria. He described their feat as a big boost to the University image and another testimony to its excellence in academic matters.

More like arson . . . with Saraki as the sponsor, and the branch manager the 'director'.

BTW, regardless of fire or no fire, all banking transactions are on main servers, if GTB's main servers are compromised, how about emails and text messages.

Fire burning down the whole branch is nothing -- let the EFCC get those docs. from the head office.

Worst case scenario, involve the CBN, if fire has not burnt down all their offices nationwide.

Yes. The transaction can be traced on the statement of account. It will definitly show that amount, date, and the transaction details. That is the only evidence.

Am currently on a proposal to dis prove the Avogadro's law.
Avogadro's law state that "equal volume of all gases at the same temperature and pressure contain the same number of mollecules".

I totally dissagree with that. Theoretically, For a gas A and a gas B to have the same volume doesn't mean they will have the same mass and having different mass means they will maintain the volume and have different number of mollecules.

Why are muslims doing this? Even if the religion encourage it, common sense should tell them that it is wrong.

Career / Re: The Crazy Experience Of A Bank Contract Staff by legacy4real(f): 6:35pm On Mar 04, 2016
If you said bank contract staff is a modern slavery you are right because I use to work with a bank (gtb) as a contract staff for 6 years. You will work while some people will benefit from your labour. No access to loan and some other benefit. Your boss will transfer his/her own pressure on you , insult you in the public even when you are right, you wil be sack even without given a letter or receiving an e mail, all the branch full staff will treat you like their servant because you're the last in the ranking, no promotion or recomendation, you will be the one directlly expose to customers, your leave will be change by your boss without following due process, after closing for the day, your lazy boss will still transfer his/her own job function to you forcefully, you will hardly eat in a day, you will be responsibly for any issues in the bank even if it does not concerns you , as a lady you will be intimidated by your superior male boss, you will be ask to attend meeting out of office without allowance using your own salary for transport, medical allowance will be deducted from your salary and you will be ask to pay when you get to the hospital you requested, no benefit from bank's profit sharing, your direct boss will put all blame on you in the name of promotion and many more.
I pray our legislature will look into this and ammend bank contract staffing laws.
