Crime / Re: I Want To Visit A Childhood Friend In Prison. Any Tips? by Lilfemzie(m): 4:32am On Jun 10, 2023
Tunneller:
@OP, Prison visitations are normal and occur regularly. However, it's good you asking these questions so you know what you are doing.

I have visited the prison both as a corper and as a normal citizen visiting a friend/relative. Every prison has their rules and regulations. Written and unwritten.

Some tips I could add:

- I won't advise you to go alone. Go with someone already familiar with that particular prison. It would save you a lot of unnecessary hurdles.

- If possible, go with one of his family member also.

- Go with money. Raw cash. Change an amount into the regular denominations. Enough N200 and N100. Back then, every visitor paid a certain amount to cross the gate...even if we were visiting same person. Some times, they have certain numbers they can allow at a time.

- The one I visited, they had like a prison money keeper, so the money we wan give the person we visited, it would be deposited with this person and recorded. In some prisons, you can give your friend your cash gift directly.

- Foodstuffs and provisions: highly valuable. The one that can last.

- Back then, the cooked food we brought, one of us had to taste every of it (As a check against food poisoning)

- We were given a small tag. Keep very safe. If u loose am, you can't go out o (Coz it would be assumed you have given it to someone inside to use and come out)

- They would ask you a few questions... basically to ascertain your relationship with who you are visiting and reason for visiting.

- We dropped our phones at the gate.

- Note that some of the persons u would be dealing it are actually prisoners-on-duty πŸ˜‰ (You may not know initially). Even some persons outside the prison could be prisoners. Those ones no dey run again. He could just be washing one of the ogas car or in charge of opening gate. Also, some warders could be on mufti too. So face wetin carry you come. They all would be observing you too and may want to know how buoyant your visit has made the guy. All of them dey hustle too, you know. Some would be begging you too when you are leaving for tips.

- Check yourself very well...make u no go carry exhibit o...both entering and leaving. Most likely sha, u won't get beyond the visiting room. Tho, the visit I did as a corper, we toured round all the wards. People started crying. Some prisoners were begging the girls...dash me anything...even earring dash me...just anything. It was really touching. And a warder got furious when one of us attempted to dash one of them something through the cage. Some were begging to call a certain number that nobody knows he is there etc. Anyways, don't think you would be getting to these areas ... But my point is, focus on who you are visiting.

- Avoid unnecessary handshakes or trying to carry out favours.

- Anything, you ain't sure of while there, better to ask first.

- You won't be given the whole day. Don't get carried away by emotions, otherwise before you know it, them go say time up. So be alert and do your discussion quick so u make best use of your time. Other visitors are waiting. And nobody send anybody there.

- Have a great experience!

You get sense jare my bro πŸ™Œ

You are so correct. You will be tempted to want to return on visits after the first. It feels in a way that is helpful for a humane understanding of life.

Most of the people up there asking you not to visit him have never visited anyone in prison, they're just talking from hearsays. Go ahead and visit him. @xangerar has already said everything you need to know about prison visits. Trust me after this visit, you'll be tempted to always visit prisons or better still send a hand to those locked up behind bars every now and then...not necessarily your friend alone...I been there before...when I'm eventually stable, charity towards prisoners is one thing I want to do sooo baddd

Family / Re: Why Do We Ignore Poor Loved Ones To Die, Then Start Contributing For Burial? by Lilfemzie(m): 12:57pm On Jun 06, 2023
Darlingme:
This has nothing to do with entitlement mentality.

No one is an island and we all need each other to live peacefully.
So, a man died in my neighborhood and his children has forbidden their rich and wealthy uncles from contributing to the burial. Accordingly to the children, their poor father died of starvation, which they have been appealing to relatives, also his only brother who works in an oil company in PH for assistant and he has always promised to help, but never did. This uncle happens to be the first person to send an ambulance to convey the corpse to the village, and the children rejected his offer.
I don't understand. Why do we have rich family members, friends, yet we suffer poverty?
Why is it always easy for people who can save their fellow humans from death, starvation, depression always ignore them, but once he/she dies, it's easy to raise money for burial.

Have you ever experience any of this? Can you share such experience?
What's your general opinion about this?

Yeah my mom was down with stroke, at the time my siblings and I did all we could, but our struggles then couldn't even give her medical support πŸ₯ΊπŸ’”

We reached out to her family in Ghana for support but none of them turn up.

After she passed, they said we shouldn't bury her that they'll travel all the way down here to Lagos and take her body back to Ghana for burial. I grabbed the phone from my dad, screamed at them never to reach out to us again and banged the call. I bury my momsy here...till eternity, I don cut off those useless village people called family. My family na the 9ja friends I made here, them always got my back and have never made me felt like a Ghanian for once! This is home to me. After all family na who show up for you, no be by blood.

Bill TV posted today, he locked comments and that's the right way to go. Posting videos is not the problem but their job is a very fragile one so things need to be put in place. Imagine seeing a video of a Benin man been killed by a Fulani herdman, I may not get angry and just call on the government to fish out the killers. But imagine same happened and under the comments section I see Fulanis mocking us, what will you think will happen? I will no longer show that comment to the government but rather to my Benin people who will easily get incited by the derogatory speech and start their own revenge.
Their comment sections were war zones and cultists hijacked it. Look at NV, his comment section on telegram is locked and that's the way to go and I think it's nice if he does same on YouTube. I don't know about other people but to me every life saved is worth it.

Black ass killed Desmond in uniben and some idiots went ahead to NV and Bill TV to taunt maphite calling them weak and that alone may make them want to prove a point. now from the the baby soldiers killed two people and later came to same chanel to taunt black ass, now you see that whatever is Said there, people take it to heart.

You making sense bro but the thing be say there's no perfect way to do things, we all are just trying to do things the best way we can. If you check am well, wether or not rivals taunt each other on comments section, we all know these guys will always retaliate...even if it takes time. I understand your point sha. But my opinion be say that comment section has very little effect. Funny thing is those social media cultists are not even the ones pulling hits... Make government just do the needful...

I greet you bro

Cultism bloggers. Term sounds so unusual but it is true. Over 3 Youtube channels are dedicated to this. With them, hidden execution videos exclusive to private whatsapp groups are now leaked out for the world to see.
The only good thing about it is that a layman like me won't have known how broad and dangerous cultism is without them.
@Freshkpomo, I understand your complaint but it really isn't their fault you know. Even on the saynotocultism thread, lowlife cultists have used it to threaten themselves,
I have resorted that the only solution to cultism is police starts investigating into every cultism death and arresting at least 5 cultists for each crime, then these useless youths will calm down. And eventually Anticultism will use his Social media handles for something else.
Untill then, it is left for youths to say no to cultism so they don't get fame after their death on a cultist bloggers page.

The thing be say anything wey get advantage must definitely get disadvantage. These bloggers work don do more good than bad to these cultism issue. Una feel like say the killings increase only because bloggers dey give us the updates. The killings has always been like this ever since, but there never was a platform where we get updated. If nuh be these bloggers, you wey dey bini nuh go know the scores and see the gore wey dey sup for lag. The matter be like who say may dem ban social media because of the disadvantages. Make dem rest for this matter, place priorities right abeg.

E just be like how people say a lot of young people die these days than before, I disagree. Old and young don dey die no be today, na social media make am be like there's a increase due to how information spread fast and easy...

Hello nairalander, there have been a recent trend I noticed about some cult bloggers which is very disturbing. It's painful that Nigerian youths are stupid and dumb because these bloggers make these reports to scare people from joining cult but cultists have hijacked the platform and now a place where they plan killings, threaten each other and even create cult wars like in the case of what's going on in Benin right now. I have written to these guys to lock their comment section but they refuse so I have decide to keep reporting them till they loose their channels and start from the scratch.

As for the youths who can't take sense from their posts but take it as fun, your stupidity is beyond redemption.

Personally what have you done to discourage cultism and cult killings? Now someone tries to do that in their own way and you have a problem with it Same thing y'all did to the Saynotocultism guy, thank goodness he wasn't intimidated

You're so correct. That guy called N*g*r*a* v*e* started this rubbish, he his always happy whenever there is a cult clash, he pretends like he his fighting against it but in real sense he is instigating these cult killings.

If actually he his against this cult clashes and killings, he ought to know by now that the comment section is supposed to be closed. The comment section is always like a war zone, every cult wants to be superior.

If you noticed, this cult clashes got even worse when him and others started making reports and videos.

In a sane country, security operatives should have picked him and others bloggers, because they have so much explanation to give, but welcome to Nigeria.

Honestly speaking, it is disheartening to see or hear youth killing each other in the name of cultism.

What happened in uniben according to my source was a revenge of the axemen against the mafias. That keggite chief was a MF and the Uniben we know is ruled by axemen. The two chiefs killed in that school were rival to the ruler of the school.

My source has it that the axemen stated that all chiefo of Uniben must be an axeman. This will know exist in some campuses.

R.i.p to the dead while the living live rightfully.
