Inspirational words can motivate success. They can also tide you through bad times. Great Futoites, here's a collection of top 10 inspirational quotes. Read what the greatest minds have to tell you:

1. Mark Twain
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

2. Luigi Pirandello
In bed my real love has always been the sleep that rescued me by allowing me to dream.

3. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

4. Zig Ziglar
People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.

5. T. S. Elliot
Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go

6. Buddha
All that we are is the result of what we have thought.

7. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

8. Peter F. Drucker
We know nothing about motivation. All we can do is write books about it.

9. Nora Roberts
If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.

10. Stephen Covey
Begin with the end in mind.

My people this is to inspire us to attain the greatness that is in each and everyone of us, but it must be His grace,

Today is far spent, tomorrow remains unknown with all its certainties, because it's not for us to tell,

Cheers.

Hi People,
I thought i should this with you all,

There was a one-hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity shocked. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life. I hope you would learn one or two things from his life;

1. He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!

2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.

3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha ,
that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has
everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.

4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.

5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.

6. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies.
He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals
for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.
He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any
of your share holder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.

7. He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time
after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch Television. shocked

8. Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only
5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with
Warren Buffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But
when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates
became a devotee of Warren Buffet. cry

9. Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.

His advice to young people: "Stay away from credit cards and invest in yourself and Remember:

A. Money doesn't create man but it is the man who created money.
B. Live your life as simple as you are.
C. Don't do what others say, just listen to them, but do what you feel is good.
D. Don't go on brand name; just wear those things in which you feel is comfortable.
E. Don't waste your money on unnecessary things; just spend on what you really need .
F. After all it's your life then why give chance to others to rule your life."

It's all good, have a great day kiss

Hmm, i hear say some people need paradigm shift, Una too much oh! Una don turn to Steven Covey himself, lol

It's all good! I know the oil & gas sector is a much coveted sector by all graduates, Nevertheless, we should all have an open mind and put in our very best in whatever we find ourselves doing in the meantime. Who knows where that is likely to take us to

All the same, keep your dreams alive and aim high!
Cheers.

Opoks,
You know it isn't my intent to start a fight here, no, never! cry

You're very right, i'm from 'home', east of Naija wink Though my name (Lindiwe) is a South African name meaning 'a long awaited child'. but in this case, a long awaited young lady! Who knows, i might be the long awaited bearer of the long awaited good news on this thread, lol! cheesy

Wishing you all a nice weekend, and congratulations in advance as we mark our 47th year of independence, albeit we have nothing to show for it, God help our dear country! All hail Naija!

I would like us all to ponder over the piece below over the weekend; who knows

This is an absolutely incredible interview with Rick Warren, author of "Purpose Driven Life" His wife now has cancer, and he now has "wealth" from the book sales. In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:

[color=#000099]"People ask me, "What is the purpose of life?" And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body – but not the end of me.

I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act – the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity. We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn’t going to make sense.

Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort. God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.

We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness. This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer. I used to think that life was hills and valleys – you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore. Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.

No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on. And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for. You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems. If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, "which is my problem, my issues, my pain."

But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others. We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her. It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people. You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life. Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy. It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease. So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.

First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit. We made no major purchases. Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church. Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call. The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate t he next generation. Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity? Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)? When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do. That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD. Difficult moments, SEEK GOD. Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD. Painful moments, TRUST GOD. Every moment, THANK GOD.”

Cheers all! Keep the spirit high!

You all will be remembered in my prayers and offerings to God!

Nice weekend once again!

Thank God it's Friday!

Hi lovely people, hmmm, i'm already feeling like a member smiley Yeah it feels good to know i'm welcomed on your lovely thread.

Adrianic,
Thanks for the warm reception, You exude a high level of chivalry, i admire that! As for your proposed invitation to me, that's gonna be quite irrisistible you know  cheesy!

Abussyaya,
Thanks for the tip, i'll keep it at the back of my mind, pending when i'm privileged to dine with them.

Opoks,

Congrats! I'll get to meet you after the training! What unit did you choose?

Cheers all!

I admire you guys!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Which Way Nlng? by Lindiwe(f): 4:42pm On Sep 27, 2007
@ all
You guys are terrific with admirable personality.
It would be a great honour and privilege to be a part of this group even though i'm not in the competition. I've read all 36 pages of this thread and i must confess i'm thrilled.
I'm already tripping kiss for likes of Kuwena, Okpos, Adrianic (must have a lot of Adrenaline in your system wink) et al, you guys are the best!!!
I really wish i'm in the competition, guess i'll be better placed to make meaningful contributions to the thread!

Okpos,
Maybe i would have known you if you made it to KPMG, well nevertheless, you're still the BOMB!

Keep your NLNG dreams high everyone, what would be would be.
That Bonny Island is something else. I had the opportuinity to visit the place for two weeks during my 4th year IT. I felt like i was in America's white house. The 1hour 30min boat ride from PH to Bonny Jetti was a lot of fun. My course mate actually did her 6month-Industrial training there; her uncle is a big guy there so it was easy for her to get a place with them. She invited me over for 2weeks and i must confess, the place is worth waiting for!

Ok guys, it feels good to be a part of your lovely thread! Maybe when NLNG starts its recruitment process again, i'll apply so i can have a feel of that lovely Bonny Island again! tongue

Cheers!!!

Hello Ronique
I would suggest you throw more light on the seminar to enable us judge if it's the kind of knowledge we stand in need of.
You know poeple pursue different carrer paths, and it doesn't make a lot sense to me to delve into something completely different from what you are good at, you get my drift?
Nevertheless, keep the spirit high.
