Poster your argument that "those opposing tithe are unbelievers" is fallacious. I am a believer and do not believe that the law of tithing is for this dispensation.

This topic has been discussed ad nauseam! I suggest that the Poster rereads the older posts on this topic with an open mind and read scriptures in their true context and not allegorically.

Part of the USA declaration of independence states that “ all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. The last verse of the star spangled banner says in “God is our trust”.  The UK national anthem is “God save the Queen”

Are democracy, slavery, separation of Church and state, capitalism all Christian principles?.

I don’t have the time to breakdown the scriptures here, however, A Christian British MP William Wilberforce contributed greatly to the Abolition of transatlantic slave trade.

And Nigeria that is one of the most corrupt and yet one of the most religious country on earth is what?. . . .Which society has more moral upright people, Nigeria or the UK?.   

Nigeria may be religious in name but the lifestyles tell a different story. The UK has + 200 years head-start on democracy over Nigeria which means they are a more established society but not necessarily morally up right.

The problem with the secularist/ humanist movement is that they preach Atheism under the guise of free thought but the real agenda is to create a Godless society.   Look at UK and USA. These countries are founded on Christian principles; however they are now so Secularized that religion has become a source of scorn especially in the UK.  Moral decay is rampant in the society, many of the children leave school and do not bother to further their education.

Secularism does not encourage free thinking it rather promotes anarchy, due to the lack of clarity between wrong and right.

Morality and ethics is birthed from religious teachings.  Religion upholds a standard of truth from which we develop into a better society.  Unfortunately religion of today has become self serving and controlling, rather than God serving and enlightening.  

However secularism or humanism is not the answer, as this leads to moral decay, which is demonstrated in many inner cities in the west where religion is banned from schools.

ShiaMuslim,  You should show respect to other peoples religion, I am sure you will not be happy if such an approach was made to the holy scripture that you subscribe to   !!

I have to state categorically that i was born a christian and even grew up in deeper life bible church. all my life i have been seeking the truth about this life and about how to please GOD. These searches as at different times lead me to various facts and fictions. As i was making one of my researches, i came in contact with this question which i need an answer to.

The question is this,  If God is the creator of the world and also the one that forgive sins, who was Jesus Christ sacrificed to? If God, do God accept human sacrifice? As you know, Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of the world. why must he be killed to appease GOD?

Because of Adams sin man's blood has been contaminated with sin and he is therefore condemned to Hell. However in order to receive forgiveness mans sin had to be obscured before he could be in the presence of God because God Abhors sin.  Before Christ in the Old testament Man atoned for his sins  via the sacrifice of an unblemished lamb, goat etc. However this only covered the sin but did not remove it completely, as a result these animal sacrifices had to be carried out regularly. However,  the blood of Jesus cleanses us completely of our sin. The Death and resurrection of Christ is all that is required for the remission of our sins.  Jesus Christ who had no Sin became Sin for us so that we may be declared the righteousness of Christ.  All man needs to do is to believe in his heart  and turn from his sinful ways then his sins shall be remitted and he shall receive, salvation through Gods Grace.

The words of the bible are inspired by God.   The Bible prophesised that the Jews will be scattered around the world and that they will also return to there homeland.  They were dispersed for over 1800 years and in 1948 they returned to their homeland.

Ezekiel 20:34 - "I will bring you from the nations and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered -- with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath."
Isaiah 11:11-12 NIV - "In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth."

I believe you're dull of hearing, when does mentioning something now becomes a valid proof of evidence? Jesus never commanded his followers to pay tithe (tithe is not a pre-requisite to obtaining blessing or favour from God). However, In Mat 23:23 Jesus was very selective and only attributed that text of scripture to the hypocrites who professed to be self-righteous. It was an ironic statement aimed at rebuking a bad deed.

Although I do agree in principle with the initiator of this post.

Now that the Law of the tithe has been refuted as a New Testament practice, let us examine, the one and only text in the New Testament where a "tenth" is mentioned.  The reference is in Hebrews chapter 7, which is a recounting of the first occasion recorded in Scripture of a "tenth" part being offered to God. Genesis 14:20 tells us about this first account, long before the Law of Moses was instituted:
