Can someone be put out of status if he/she does not report to the school he originally got admission to. N.B the person is in another school its a CC (is it possible to be declared out of status but you re still studying). it was not really the individuals fault cause the uni in Colorado refused to transfer his i20 and stuffs. biko who is at fault. Dont know if its rumour but i heard re instatements are usually denied and you would be bundled back home

I am hopeful, If i struggle for it, then I have done right by being careful of not mistakenly losing it. US is different from Naija, so also is their standard of living, some naija people monthly salary no reach $200.

You did the right thing, According to Erickson theory of human development Trust v. Mistrust, You probably had a hard time growing up and trusting maybe your parents/loved ones. this occurs few months after birth and this has altered your relationship with people intimacy v. isolation... Greetings to u all
I have been following this forum for a while but decided to ask for an advice from u all
1 am a 32 years old Businessman, and I own my own company here in Lagos. I am married and a child who is just 3 years old.
My wife and kid got a US visit visa about 6 months ago and they used it to travel and up till now, my wife and kid have not returned back to Nigeria. She told me she will not return back to Nigeria that she is adjusting her status, and that it could take her 5 years to do that as I don't understand what that means.
However, I have a valid visa too, B2, which will expire next month, but I hardly have time to travel, as I don't want to leave my company. Since my wife said I should come over to her in the US to see her if I desire to see my little son, won't I be faced with some questions at the POE, and don't u think I can be sent back to Nigeria at the POE due to the sins of my wife and kid overstaying in the US. And also, what does Adjustment of Status that my wife said means?

Nawa oo, at least from what you have written, you have a decent living in nigeria, i wonder the kind of greener pastures your wife is looking for in the US, while you have already established yourself in nigeria. if your wife and yourself got the visa together, i will advice you not to travel because they will ask for her and your child and other questions may arise, Get another visa. But you wife sha oo, her eye don tear undecided

He should go back to Nigeria while you file. As spouse of citizen filing will be quicker under one year.

If he stays back he will go out if status and can cause issues when filing and you will end up spending lots of money on lawyers compared to the straightforward case with him in Nigeria.

It doesn't matter of he marries in Nigeria or US, but court wedding better as legally accepted.

Do you know the wait time and the trouble associated with filling the spousal visa while the other party is in a different country, forget legal or illegal its better if that individual stays back in US while the paper is filled it dosent take up to a year, spousal visa interview and procedure is really tight in Nigeria (i cant say for other countries) because everyone is peddling the same story line "i was visiting and i fell i love with him/her" "i meet her on twitter" different stories and you think the VO dont know whats up. am not saying they dont approve but sometimes the processing takes a lot of time, they even do home trip in some cases (going to visit the beneficiary of the visa) you can go to the immigrant section and see how long people have waited.

He can always get a consigner or external support. Not every green card holder has the financial requirement to sponsor their parent. Some get a cosigner who has the financial capability to sponsor.

at least he should be 21, cause most of the laws here in US requires you to be 21 except for the working age. He will also likely get someone with lots of financial responsibility

2. In addition to what others have said, for number 2, she will be allowed to continue her studies and the good thing is that she can also take a break in between semesters because the US law permits cases like international students who fall extremely sick or pregnant international students who give birth in the US to defer their admission to allow them time to heal or nurse their baby.

3) When the child is born here in the US, the child is automatically a US citizen. Some weeks after child birth, the mom can apply for his birth certificate (very important) for future use such as in obtaining the child's US passport.

She might want to go to Texas for child delivery where it is often cheaper than in places like Maryland (where I am), if she is not living there currently.

4) Definitely. Your friend can be listed on the child's birth certificate as father. That is the right thing hat is done, regardless of his status in the country. This is very important for future references.

5) No she won't be deported because she is still in legal status. Like I and others have said before, the child automatically becomes a US citizen but the status of the mother remains the same and does not change.

6) The US law requires one to be married to a US citizen or at least a green card holder to be eligible to adjust status via marriage. Since neither of them is a US citizen, unfortunately their status does not change. They would have to seek their own way out or wait till the child is 18 years to file for both of them, which I do not recommend anyway because of the length of time involved.

About No,6 even if the child turn 18 he cant file nothing, cause he has to show financial stability that he can take care of his parents, probably he should just be done with high school he cant be given such responsibility. lets just say when the boy is in his mid-twenties or late.
