When Henry wheeler Shaw stated that “the greatest thief the world has ever produced is procrastination”, I’m sure you would agree with me that he couldn’t have been more correct.

Procrastination is the art of postponing or pushing off till later “doing” anything especially as a habit.

We all find ourselves under the spell of this thief at one time or another, we might often catch ourselves postponing an assignment till later on, or making that call later on, or taking that examination later on, or even telling him or her you love them later on……

More often than not, the right time to do these things never come, hence we are caught in the logjam of unattended issues and backlog of work and at this stage it becomes almost impossible to catch up with some others who might have acted promptly, as opportunity once lost can never be regained.

If we take Nigeria as a case study, one definitely observes that we now suffer from a plethora of procrastinated issues i.e. PHCN, NNPC, NPF, WATER and ELECTORAL REFORM.

What procrastination steals is our time and time they say is money. Don’t expect anybody to apprehend procrastination for you. This is one thief you must deal with yourself. Delay might just be deadly.
