Liverpool U18 Vs Arsenal first eleven, scoreline 4-4
Dats all I can say for now

It's 5 for arsenal . Liverpool started with origi, ox, Gomez, lalanna, milner and naby keita 6 players well over 18. You can say reserves but not u18. However I get the sarcasm in your comment . The match is like an exhibition.

I hope the minister for digital economy does the needful in regulating the Pay TV industry especially breaking the stronghold of DStv. There should be a new regulation that will require DSTV to share some of its exclusive content especially the premier League and champions League with other players in the industry. This should also include re-selling of other exclusive premium content such as Europa League and bundesliga by startimes also to other pay TV operators. The UK did this so many years ago under the wholesale must offer arrangement and forced sky sports to release their channels in a form of commercial arrangement to other pay TV operators. DStv is just greedy. To watch the Europa League matches , all I did was to download the startimes app and paid 200 naira for a 24 hour access to all their sport stations including live Europa League matches.i don't even require a startimes decoder or account to use the service. It's pay as you go and doesn't use as much data as mobdro and others This DStv monopoly must be broken.

The source of my rant ? Imagine paying over 9k for compact hd extra view per month and for reaaons best known to DStv, they put the arsenal match on super sports 5 which is exclusive to compact plus . Arsenal is at home o. They are now showing the Norwich Vs Man Utd match both on Ss4 and ss10 both of which are on compact. I just weak. All the best to arsenal. Going to be following the match on Livescore.

What's wrong with splitting the 31 billion naira into 6 to build six state of the art hospitals at five billion naira each in each of the 6 geopolitical zones . Or if they intervene at the primary healthcare level and build 100 state of the art primary health care centres at 300 million naira each in 100 different local governments across all the region's fully equipped. You could as well even name the hospitals or primary health care centres abacha recovery hospital . They will still embezzle even if they do this but imagine the reach this would have . But mba, the experts in government believe the best approach is to share the money to the poorest people. I weak for naija

Politics / Re: Nigeria At 59: What We Can Learn From China That Is 70 Years Old by Lyoncrescent: 11:43am On Oct 02, 2019
It is quite boring and easy for people to continually compare China's initiatives at development with that of Nigeria. It's not the same.china existed under imperial rule for thousands of years till it became a republic at the end of the qing dynasty in 1912 and I think it became a communist country in the 1940s. Nobody colonised China. Nigeria didn't exist as a nation till 1914 and was an artificial creation by the British for their selfish interests. In 1960 there was independence quite alright but there was no economic independence. Same thing in South Africa.

China runs a communist system that doesn't depend on senate and House of representatives bureaucracy. One good leader is all that is needed. That's why I argue that most of the significant developments such as third mainland bridge and all the now moribund refineries were built under military rule. Democratic Nigeria cannot in a million years do what China did. Something as ordinary as one child policy that China did won't fly in Nigeria because of religious sentiments and senate bureaucracy. And the truth is our population is out growing our development but how do you tell people to do family planning and enforce it in a democracy? If China didn't enforce that one child policy, their population would have slowed down their development.

China has 56 tribes but one particular tribe dominates with over 90 percent however in Nigeria it's a different ball game with over 300 tribes and not one really dominant with different histories so we are not really one per say.

China is a different beast. If we want to compare Nigeria with a country, India is more relevant as they have a higher population than Nigeria, they are a democracy and were also colonised by the British and with a higher population than nigeria but that's a story for another day. In perspective India has a power generation capacity of over 300,000 megawatts which is 100 times more than Nigeria.

As far as I am concerned , Nigeria needs Divine intervention. When those 10 million children out of school grow up alongside children born in IDP camps/ boko haram conflicts, it won't be easy for the country at all

Car Talk / Re: Before Buying Used Cars In Nigeria: Things To Know by Lyoncrescent: 11:17am On Sep 24, 2019
Based on my experience, before buying any Nigerian used car, get the vin number first. The advantage of this is to first confirm that the person who bought the car as tokunbo didn't buy an accidented or flooded car and wants to dump it on you. It will also give you an idea if the odometer was rolled back amidst other information. Secondly, the vin number will show the year of the car. For example a 2009 corolla can be upgraded to 2012 and the seller will not tell you and will want to sell it as 2012 but when you put the vin number online it will show the actual model year of the car.

Most importantly, I always use a website carcomplaints.com to check that models of cars I want to buy don't have factory issues. This applies to both tokunbo and Naija used cars. My second car was a Honda accord 2003 aka EOD. The car gave me gear issues . It was later I checked https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2003/ to discover that it was a factory issue with that model thus it is advisable to check for any model of car you want to buy from that website.

Finally,my formula in buying a Nigerian used car which is what applies to the car I'm using now is to buy a car that was bought brand new in Nigeria. Anyone who buys a brand new car in Nigeria more often than not maintains it very well and probably has more than one car. The car will most likely come with two or three keys and in some cases these bought brand new in Nigeria cars are often better than some tokunbo cars of the same model and definitely cheaper.

I hope someone finds this information useful.

Religion / God's Role In Choice Of A Life Partner And Marriage For Christians by Lyoncrescent: 7:56am On Jun 16, 2019
IF you make a wrong choice in marriage, it will affect your destiny and damages incurred are irretrievable. The problem of lack of love in marriage, the issue of marriage infidelity, the matter of the second woman or other man, the weight of distrust in marriage and the fading out of the first love and emotion between a man and his wife, the hard fist of inconsiderate husband and the naggings of a odious wife… all disquiet not only the husband and the wife but the children and the whole earth. However, the family is Gods own idea, it is his own provision for the lonely and the deserted. It is his own mercy towards the man he made, it is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a help meet for him. Gen. 2:18

You need Gods counsel as he’s the one that can see the end from the beginning. The brother or sister you see today, do you know his/her tomorrow? If what a man is today is what he will always be, then we won’t have any problem as what you currently see is what you will always get but it’s not so. Why we are seeking proper guidance before picking a brother or sister is because marriage for us is not in the now but in the future. Marriage is different from pulpit. A brother for example may be speaking in tongues, power preacher or chorister but there is a catch. When a man comes to the pulpit to sing or preach, he becomes another man. It may not be because of him but the prayers of the congregation who have been praying; God speak to us and God wants to speak and even if he finds a goat, God will speak. The point is you don’t marry anointing, you marry a man. If what you saw on stage or on the pulpit is what made you say yes to a brother, you have missed it. It means you are marrying performance. There is the case of a brother who was a strong Christian and teacher in his campus fellowship days. His friend from campus, a preacher visited him after some years and the now married brothers’ wife confessed that her husband the brother beats her a lot. The preacher found it strange as back then in their campus fellowship days this brother was a gentle man and quiet. The gentility you see in a man when he’s not married is untested gentility.. The problem is choice and principles of Christian marriage. If the foundation be shaken what can the righteous. The choice is a bridge between where you are now and your future.

It is amazing that according to the gospel of john, Jesus first miracle to restore and renew was at a marriage at cana when he turned water to wine. The wine had finished and there was confusion and Jesus stepped in at the request of Mary and he performed the miracle. Permit us to look at the reaction of the ruler of the feast after the miracle: “when the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was (but the servants which drew the water knew), the governor of the feast called the bridegroom and saith unto him, every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse; but thou kept the good wine till now”John 2:9-10

Every man at the beginning…

Most marriages in shambles today didn’t begin that way. The man and the woman may have been showering themselves with love and care at the beginning. Planning weddings and engagement and superb promises and all but after some time issues arise and the love fades and challenges come. Every man… there is no exception. Only men who are linked with Jesus, the source of life and joy can still have fresh wine long after their beginnings. Every man tries his best at the beginning; Good wine is set forth while watery wine is kept for other days .

When men are well drunk…

This is the nature of humans. Most started their marriage with intoxication. Both men and women are experts in setting forth good wine at the beginning by putting forth their best behaviors while the relationship last until they are both well drunk.

Then what which is worse…

When the good wine is finished, and then set forth that which is worse. This is what every man does except there is divine input from the lord Jesus. This is why homes that began with great hope suddenly collapse. The complex thing is men and women are unpredictable. Some would have loved to set forth good wine still but it has finished. I Must Say unto you only Christ can keep the supply of divine freshness in any relationship.

In Gods mind, he is creating something in you that can meet the need of something in that brother or sisters life so that both of you can fulfill the will of GOD. Brothers and sisters, you don’t fit everybody, anywhere, anytime. Not every sister you see in the road is your size. The girl you are running after now may be undersize, and thus you need to wait for God to give you your own size. Under size like an under size shoe pinches and such shoes can be removed due to discomfort but not marriage. Trust GOD to make a choice for you. Don’t let your heart move if it is not GOD that has moved in it.

It is not good for you to be alone, but if GOD has not said it specifically to you, it’s better to be alone. Some of you have entered into courtship too early because you chose yourself. As GOD said it to Adam, he has to say it to you specifically that it is not good for you to be alone because GODs time is the best time. Don’t let pressures push you. GOD has time for every one of us and it’s when GOD has said it’s not good for you to be alone, he will move and provide you your help meet but generally what happens is peer pressure that makes you want to be hooked to someone when GOD has not spoken.

You are not just brought together because it is the tradition to marry, it was a need in GODS heart that brought marriage to the fore, you also must identify the mandate on your lives for which GOD has provided your marriage to fulfill. Sister you need to recognize and discover GODS plan and expectation for the brother you have married or intend to marry and throw all you have physically and spiritually into laboring with him to accomplish it and form an unbreakable cord in spiritual warfare. Marriage is a relationship for a purpose and will of GOD for you; there is something GOD wants to do in your life and he needs your helpmeet(not help mate) to help you fulfil it. The grace of GOD in your life and spiritual gift GOD has given you may seem self sufficient just for you but that grace and gift has been tailor made to fit into someone’s life with whom you will be able to fulfill the purpose of GOD hence choice is critical. It is not just to see a man and say he is good. You need to ask what he is meant to achieve in life that I need to be a help meet for.

Only GOD has the dimension of your life in hand so when he makes a partner for you he does so with your dimension in mind and GOD is not only building the dimension for the present, he also knows the elastic limit; your expansion. When GOD is bringing you a wife he brings one with knowledge of your elastic limit. He knows this man will expand in future and will bring a woman that can expand with him so that as the man is growing, the wife is growing so that at every time it is fitting at almost every point ; if it fits now it will fit in 40 years time because of the elastic limit GOD has added. The unfortunate thing is this, people are only looking at who fits them now and don’t consider their elastic expansion. So when the years come and there is no fitting as one expands while the other doesn’t grow accordingly. When GOD makes he takes into consideration all the circumstances of your growth and challenges and all that will have ever happen, he puts them together. When GOD makes a woman for a woman GOD has put all the man will need in the womans life. There are some people that fit you today but in a few years they won’t fit you. The reason you need GOD to make the choice is because GOD makes our partners tailor made. When it comes to the matter of choice it is critical, don’t just choose based on feelings and physical attractions or financial benefits but let GOD choose for you. GOD bless you. This message is based on some of the teachings i have heard from brother gbile akanni and some of his books. Later i will be sharing some of the messages that can help us and my own personal testimony regarding this message i posted and the impact it has had on my life.

This current Ayangburen of Ikorodu is a stooge. An insignificant Oba who was put there by tinubu and his cohorts. The local government and police are useless too. The cultists in ikorodu are not often students but rather are often Okada riders , Barbers, car wash operatives , vulcanizers, tailors etc. The previous Oba of Ikorodu strengthened the onyabo vigilante group and had a hold of cultist activities and thug life in ikorodu. Back then you can move round ikorodu at night and wear whatever you like . But now the current oba is just useless doing nothing. If you wear the wrong colours in some areas your life is at risk. If you wear a clothe with a bird on it ,they may think you are eiye. The most useless of them all is the Lagos state government which as turned a blind eye on cultism for almost a decade . In areas such as bariga, mushin, somolu and some parts of Lagos island , cultism reigns supreme and nothing is done. The cultists are often arrested and released after some days . It's tragic to say the least . The whole thing is frustrating but what can one do if the government and royal fathers are useless .

I prefer Ibrahim chatta to odunlade. Chatta can act pastor/woli both Pentecostal and white garment. Saw him act the role of a white garment man that went into a trance and he killed it especially for a Muslim that he is. He can also act other roles such as Alfa, babalawo, rich, poor and even lover boy. However truth be said in terms of comic ability, odunlade is way ahead of chatta. But I prefer chattas acting and if you ask most Yoruba practitioners who is a better professional I believe most will go for chatta.

I get all this hyper the governor and his deputy are trying to do but :
The easiest thing sanwo and hanzat can do first is to domicile the maintenance and repair of roads to the local government. Instead of having the public works in Ojodu Berger going to all the local governments and lcdas to fiX roads, let there be a fully equipped public works department domiciled in every local government and lcda. Fund them properly and equip them and make them accountable. People in each local government can go to the local government to complain about bad roads and all to have them fixed. Eventually their capacity can be improved to road construction especially inner roads and drainage construction. As long as they perform using quality materials, it will lead to a big achievement in road construction and maintenance

As far as the EPL is concerned, Manchester United distorted the market in terms of transfer fees and wages. United chose to pay Sanchez 500k pounds per week even when city had to confess they couldn't pay Sanchez that and same United overpaid for the likes of Pogba and Lukaku which has distorted transfer fees and is why crystal palace will want to sell an average player like Zaha for 60 million. Man City buy a wide range of players but they don't distort like man utd and Barcelona. And I use Lukaku and Dembele with Coutinho as examples as they are not value for money for what was paid compared to kepa, allison and van Dijk who cost a lot but are value for money.

rusher14:
What are their demands?

In summary, when NCAA was created, the staff strength was about 300 and the organogram reflected this. Now with expansion of the aviation industry, NCAA has more staff and thus the organogram and structure has to be expanded to factor in this growth and promotions according to the union but the minister and the DG said no and rather than expand the organogram, they actually merged departments which stifles growth even further.

The condition of service will ensure better pay package for NCAA. The taxes on your ticket is collected by NCAA and shared with other aviation agencies. It's sad that NCAA doesn't even pay as well as the operators it regulates which can cause compromise especially since aviation is sensitive and NCAA according to the union's have been trying as there has been no air crash for commercial flights for a while .

Finally the inauguration of the governing board of NCAA which buhari has appointed for over a year now is long overdue. Without the board, the DG and the minister make all the decisions without any oversight. According to the union NCAA doesn't have one functional staff bus yet the DG and the minister in the last three weeks recently purchased 21 2018 brand new Toyota Hilux .

There may be other issues as seen in the memo but this is my understanding to an extent

It's just a nickname for those eight colleges not like a pre-existing term that was adopted by them SMH.
Ivy league exists only in the US, UK's golden triangle is also a nick name for [Oxford, Cambridge and London]. What I was saying Is that if the Nigerian Universities want to establish a body like that, they should use a genuine name not a borrowed version of The US colleges.

I get now. Definitely not the ivy league name
Education / Re: Babcock University In Pictures by Lyoncrescent: 10:26am On Apr 25, 2019
Thehumanlloydl:

First of all, "Ivy league" isn't an association to conduct research and exchange knowledge.
It's a collegiate athletic body comprising eight private universities in the US just like the UK's golden triangle.
At least if you can't cognate a different name for the Nigerian Universities, make correct references to the Foreign ones.

The Ivy League is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising sports teams from eight private universities in the Northeastern United States. The term Ivy League is typically used to refer to those eight schools as a group of elite colleges beyond the sports context.[2] The eight members are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University. Ivy League has connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism. While i agree that the ivy league in the US dont always conduct research or exchange knowledge together, i believe the Nigerian version should go down this path cos of funding constraints and also to build research citation rankings through collaboration

Education / Re: Babcock University In Pictures by Lyoncrescent: 2:43pm On Apr 24, 2019
Great Babcockite. Its a good school because of the people you get to meet there but to be honest their research output is quite poor especially when you compare it with Covenant Uni. They also have some very lackluster lecturers who are only there because they are members of the seventh day Adventist fold. The food back then was suicide but if i had to choose which private university my child or family member will attend, i will consider Covenant Uni and Afe Babalola Uni before i consider babcock. Nice pictures though. I believe babcock, covenant, abuad, abti american and pan atlantic uni(lagos business school) should form a kind of ivy league private university association to conduct research and exchange knowledge and other ideas in a bid to improve excellence.
