THE PATHETIC NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE OF PATIENCE BULA IN THE HANDS OF ONE ADAMS MARVIN UNDER THE GUISE OF AN EXPENSIVE MOVIE ROLE. A CALL FOR JUSTICE AND ACTIVISM.

The painful experience of this beautiful new wife must be told. She was caught in between the claws of death, perhaps for ritual purposes or for something else, one should wonder. I have urged the world over and those who believe in the cause of justice to show up at the Police A Division Wadata-Makurdi this morning by 9am for the perseverance on the cause of right. I would tell those who would care to read.

Mrs. Patience Bula (tiv girl) who is a graduate of Mass Communication and a corp member currently serving at Radio Benue Makurdi was invited by a friend (Precious), an Igbo Lady and also fellow corper after their CDS to show up at a movie rehearsal she was taking part in and to perhaps also pick a simple role. A thing she succumbed to after some persuasion. There she was introduced to one Adams Marvin (idoma boy) who was the one managing the shooting of the movie and was subsequently attached a simple role and handed the scripts.

Subsequently, she was asked to bring the script as it contained some roles of other artists, a thing she did voluntarily at the Eunice Resort Centre, venue of the rehearsal where she had been offered the role.

On Sunday, 10th September, 2017 the said Marvins called Patience that, there was need to cut down participating actors in the movie to save cost, hence the production team was short of finance. He therefore urged Patience to meet him at Hope Clinic, Wadata, where other actors and actresses were waiting to be shortlisted. On getting at the clinic, Patience saw no one and Marvins appeared minutes later to tell her that, all the people were gathered in a house down the street opposite the hospital. Not convinced enough thou, she decided to make the walk down into a compound and then into a supposed room where there was no one.

He urged her to sit and then told her that, there was a scramble for roles and so she should pray that she would not be thrown out. In the process, he also sat on same bed and bent backwards as if in a bid to pick something and next she experienced was a stick held at either ends across her neck in front in a bid to strangle her. She started struggling and screaming for help which didn't come. It became a scramble that lasted minutes. She was determined not to die like a chicken and struggled until the stick was loosed. Rather, he used the stick to hit her chest and wipe her back until she became unconscious hence she had become weak. Only to wake minutes later with fumes on her mouth in a pool of blood alone in the room. She crawled to the door step where a boy came over to help her to lie on the corridor.

The scene attracted sympathizers and some of the compound neighbour's who had earlier failed to turn up, perhaps fearing the nature of the maverick Marvin in question. It was in the midst of all this that Marvin showed up, perhaps believing she must have been dead. Surprised to see her awake, he started claiming it she was her girlfriend who came and in the process of love-making started convulsing. It was so unbelievable and a youth leader who showed up helped recover her phone from the said room that had by now been switched off though initially fully charged. All this had taken place about 2:30pm and Patience husband was later reached who showed up and almost shed tears for what his wife had went through.

The youth within the area dragged the culprit to the police station where he is under lock and key. Patience was first taken to a clinic that asked for consultation of N17,000 and so they left for FMC Makurdi where doctors where on strike and so she was taken to the FMC Apir, where she underwent series of tests and some are yet to be done. On a visit to the police station yesterday, husband to Patience, Mike Bula lamented that, the police at the station were treating the recidivist, who already has a plethora of cases against him was all smiles and claiming that he knows his way. There was no sign of remorse as he is reputed to have a smooth rapport with the policemen in the said A division station, Wadata, Makurdi.

After a dreary weekend marred by flash floods, the resilient city of Lagos has gotten its groove back. Thanks to a colourful flash mob of street sweepers that toured the metropolis for three days doing choreographed dances while “cleaning” on the go.

Aptly named Skate and Clean, the youthful and colourful team of street sweepers on skates were led by A-list hip hop artiste, Olamide Adedeji popularly known as Olamide Baddo.

Quite a spectacle, they wore and added class to the bright orange overall uniform of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) employees, courtesy of Sterling Bank.

The crowd rocked and danced to the hip, melodious and club ready STEM theme song recorded by Olamide Baddo to tackle the menace of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the drainage and its negative impact on the environment. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday, May 22, commenced the General Court Martial (GCM) trial of Aircraftman Kalu Bernard who allegedly shot and killed Aircraftwoman, Oladipupo Sholape on 12 March 2017 at the NAF Base, Makurdi.

LIB recalls that that late Oladipupo, fondly called Shomzy, who was an Air Provost at the Airforce base in Makurdi, died after Kalu shot her with his service rifle because she was allegedly dating other men including a Youth Corps member.



The court martial, which was inaugurated on Monday, consists of the President and 6 other members in addition to a Judge Advocate and 2 waiting members. Present at the inauguration were also the convening officer, prosecuting officers, 2 defence counsels representing the accused, witnesses and some members of the Press.

The President of the GCM, Group Captain Elisha Philip Bindul, while inaugurating the military court at 101 Air Defence Group Makurdi, gave a comprehensive breakdown of the trial procedures as well as the rules and regulations to be observed during the trial.

The highlight of the trial was the reading of the charges levelled against the accused, Aircraftman Kalu Bernard and the plea by the Defence Counsel for time to study the charges and other documents.

The GCM was subsequently adjourned to 2 June 2017 for further hearing on the case.

The inauguration of the court martial, which is part of the formal law chain in the Military, is coming up after a series of procedures as enshrined in the Armed Forces Act 105 of 1993 as amended.

The Benue State Police Command has arrested eight Fulani herdsmen suspected to be culpable in the recent attacks in Logo Local Government Area of the state, in which eight lives were lost. The suspects are:

i. Saidu Umar 33yrs
ii. Bala Saleh 28yrs
iii. Ibrahim Kologi 23yrs
iv. Alhaji Shuaibu 25yrs
v. Muhammad Bello 25yrs

A statement signed by the Command's spokesperson, ASC Moses Joel Yamu said they received reports of attack on Akaa village in Logo LGA of the State by suspected herdsmen on May 07, 2017 at about 1615hrs. On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, led patrol teams to the area and found three corpses identified as ; Onguga Use 70yrs, Tersoo Ihom 35yrs and Iorlumun Ityokaa 62yrs killed by the suspected herdsmen who were said to have passed through the village.
The patrol teams while on the trail of the assailants, recovered five (5) more yet to be identified corpses in another village, bringing the casualty figure to eight ( deaths. Corpses​ have been deposited in the morgue at General Hospital ,Ugba.
The Commissioner of Police, CP. Bashir Makama Psc had ordered the Gboko Area Commander to relocate to Logo, to ensure the culprits are brought to book and normalcy restored to the area.

The suspects would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel ACW Solape Oladipupo, 21 who was shot and killed by her estranged boyfriend Lt. Kalu B.A. has been buried in Lagos.

The Ogun state indigene was interred at the Air Force Cemetery, Ojo Barracks, Ojo, Lagos State on Thursday.

Kalu accused the deceased of having affairs with other men, and had written a suicide note, describing her as a witch. He wrote of his plan to kill himself after killing Solape.

He however did not kill himself and is currently being held by Air Force authorities who say a psychiatric test will be carried out on him before his eventual dismissal and prosecution.

The tragic incident took place on March 12, 2017 at the Air Force Base in Makurdi, Benue State.

The couple had met on the parade ground at the base.

According to PUNCH, the corpse arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos at about 9AM on Thursday, and Solape’s family members were called to identify her.

According to the deceased’s sister, Jolaade Oladipupo: “After the corpse arrived around 9am, five of us were asked to step forward to identify her. She was dressed in the air force ceremonial uniform. We were in tears and I felt like asking her to wake up and follow us home. The military authorities asked us if she was the one, and we said yes.”

“Then she was put into a hearse and we went to the Ojo Cantonment, where they also had a parade and a 21-gun salute. It was an emotional moment for the family,” Jolaade added.

Jolaade said that the family is calling for justice, adding that Solape had always wanted to join the Force.

“She had always wanted to join the force. She was a strong girl and always fought for people’s rights. Before she joined the air force, she had applied to join the police, the army and navy,without any success. She didn’t give up until her application to the air force succeeded.

On the night that she was killed, we had earlier spoke and I advised her to further her studies in order to get accelerated promotion in the air force. She told me that she had told her boyfriend that she didn’t have time for any relationship and that she wanted to concentrate on her studies. She said she planned to buy the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination form. That was the night that the man killed her,” Jolaade said.

One Malam Jamilu of Marmaran garo, Gidan Haki in Sokoto north local government area has been arrested for allegedly beating his 8-month pregnant wife, Suwaiba to the state of coma.

Jamilu was said to have beaten the mother of his two kids, now carrying their third child with a hammer, inflicting a serious body injury on her.

The suspect confessed committing the offence which he attributed to the work of a devil, and pleaded for mercy and forgiveness.

Speaking to our reporter, the Commander, Sokoto state Hisbah Commissioner, Dr. Adamu Kasarawa said the suspect was arrested following a report from a Good Samaritan.

He explained that the incident followed a mild misunderstanding between the couple.

Kasarawa said by the time his men visited their place, the wife was already unconscious with blood gushing out from her mouth.

“We rushed her to the hospital where she had been in coma for almost six days before she was revived,” he said.

He described Jamilu’s action as inhuman and against the Shari’ah law, assuring that he would be prosecuted after their investigation.

“We were told that this was not the first time he was beating her,” he added, and called on couples to always treat each other with respect and patience.

Audu Maikori has been arrested over false tweet which he twitted about a fatal attack on his family members in southern Kaduna.
He was arrested about noon yesterday been friday and has was moved immediately to the Force Headquaters of the monitoring and intelligence team on Abuja.
His lawyer said, on getting to the headquarters he was told that a magistrate filed to arrest him for and charge him for attempt to “incite” the mass.
In a series of tweets on January 23, Mr. Maikori said his driver, later identified as Simon Joseph, told him that he lost his brother in a Fulani herdsmen ambush in Southern Kaduna and will be travelling for burial.

“My driver’s younger brother and five others students of college of education Gidan Waya were ambushed and killed by herdsmen yesterday #SouthernKaduna.
They were in a commercial car going back to school when the driver stopped suddenly under the pretext of checking his engine #SouthernKaduna.
“As soon as the car stopped the attackers shot all 6 students but let the driver who is Fulani go. He gave us these details #SouthernKaduna.
“When we speak we are viewed as trouble makers by the Govt. Well I have seen the pictures and it’s a painful sight #SouthernKaduna,” Mr.

Social media users became livid after Mr. Maikori’s vivid naration of the purported attack.

Two days later, Kaduna State College of Education in Gidan Waya, where Mr. Maikori said the students were schooling, issued a statement denying any loss of students to an attack as described by Mr. Maikori.

The Kaduna State Government condemned the misinformation and the reporter responsible for the story in Vanguard Newspaper was arrested and charged.

On February 4, following intense criticism on social media, Mr. Maikori retracted and apologised for posting the tweets in a lenghty article that also offered detailed explanation of how he was misled by Mr. Joseph.

Audu Maikori’s lawyer, Mr. Jacob said Mr. Maikori’s driver was arrested a few days ago in Lagos, and had remained in detention ever since.

Mr. Maikori’s arrest caused social media buzz late Friday, and some Nigerians are calling for his immediate release because he had apologised for the tweets

Protesters stormed All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Tinubu has said that “protests won’t solve the problem”.

Tinubu made this known at his Bourdillion residence while addressing #IStandWithNigeria protesters on Monday.

When asked what will solve the problem, the former Lagos governor replied: “Problem is re-planning, being responsive, being able to get engaged with you, so that you’ll see the problem that we are facing”.

Tinubu added that protesters “have the right to protest,” adding that “this government is also a product of protest.”

He said that protesters should believe in the change they voted for, adding that the APC will “retool this government”.

“You voted on our promise, we are just two years into that promise. Compared to 16 years that they took over that they could have made the changes,” Tinubu said.

Nigerians should be patient with APC.

We are not denying the fact that Nigerians are suffering and have the right to protest, but party and economy must be returned to shape.

We are two years into the administration. To make those changes effectively and positively eventually, we have to be patient; we have to have the hope.

I’m not worried about the exchange rate they are pursuing because your salary should be in Naira and you are not an importer or exporter, are you?

Maybe that is teaching us a lesson to be dependent on our domestic products, isn’t it? To develop other talents, areas. I understand your grievances, unemployment etc and you know, corruption is seriously being attacked.

Don’t worry, our money will come back. the damage of 16 years will go through the system. You cannot get water out of a dry land.

Nigeria is going through a phase.

16 years of mis-governance cannot be turned around overnight. Let’s be patient. Let’s have understanding. Let’s hang on to hope. There is nothing more effective that can drive you better than hope and believe in the positive turn of this situation.

Please hang on to (the change we promised). You have your right to vote against us during election if you want.

Alot of Nigerians have been blasting Tuface up and down for cancelling on the protest. So Uche Jombo took to her Instagram to air her view on the situation.

She said;

Before Tuface stepped out to air his view and speak for most Nigerian if not all, most people got so comfortable complaining about the state of Nigerian on blogs, thier homes and so on. Nobody made a move to do anything about anything. Whether he pulled it off or not... Bottom line is he took a step, unlike people cursing him out even after he gave a sensible reason for pulling out. At least now we know that the government is afraid of what can become of Nigerian if everyone comes together to speak in one voice, one heart to achieve one goal.
