The phone/PC you're using to type that rubbish would not have existed without Mathematics.

The cars, aeroplanes, jets, television and all the technology today would not have existed without Mathematics,

Even Number Theory is a branch of Pure Mathematics, but without it, online shoping/banking would not have been possible, I can go on and on but I don't have to, every intelligent person alive knows that Mathematics rules the world.

As for Engineers and Mathematicians, they can never be one, engineers works with the principles of applied Mathematics, Mathematicians are research scientists that works on rigorous proofs and theorems.

Most people don't even understand the concept of Engineering, if you want to develop laws and jet engines, then go and study Theoretical Physics(Physics and Mathematics), if you want to work with these laws and design jet engines, then go study Engineering.

In a nutshell, Mathematicians and Physicists develop tools and theorems and engineers apply it their area of work, that is the reason you'll never see Engineers working as research scientists.

Let p be the polynomial defined by

p(x) = x5 − 99999x4 − 9999x3 − 999x2 − 99x − 9.

Is p(x) positive or negative for x near ∞?

Solve the following system of equations:
x+y+z = a,
x2+y2+z2 = b2,
xy = z2

where a and b are given real numbers. What conditions must hold on a and b for the solutions to be positive and distinct?

at a particular time t ta consdering tha the vo'ociyis the cgage doen not chang thoughou thjouney the train moving at 40miles/hr would have a distance of 40(t-6). AT the same time t the train moving with velocity 60miles/hr would have moved a distance of 60(t-cool. the south and west are at angle of 90 degrees, the hyponuse of that right angled triangle would be 180 miles.
(40(t-6))^2+(60(t-cool)^2=180 solve for t

Continue.

At 6:00 am, a freight train passes through Sagebrush Junction heading west at 40 miles per hour. At 8:00 am, a passenger train passes through the junction heading south at 60 miles per hour. At what time of the day, correct to the nearest minute, will the two trains be 180 miles apart?

Hello guys ... I chose Abu for d upcoming jamb ... Accounting .. And am a christian too... Hope abu don't discriminate?
And pls what are d subjects to writ for postume?

Thanks guys ..

They don't discriminate but they have rules that regulates their admission processes(unless you consider and/or regard that as part of discrimination as most of the precepts favour northerners).

Unless otherwise stated, you'll sit for the same subjects you sat for during your JAMB examination.

Also, Accounting is quite competitive, considering you are not from catchment, you need to score very high to even the odds.

What course can someone study without physics?

If it's F9, then none, but if it's a pass, then you can study.

Botany,
Biochemistry(depends on the school)
Microbiology,(depends on the school)
Animal Science
Computer Science(depends on the school, like ABU doesn't demand physics as you use other science subjects in lieu of it but UNN deems it compulsory.
Mathematics(you can use other science subjects in lieu of it but depends on the school as most university of technology would require physics,
Statistics
Fisheries
Animal Husbandry
Etc.

Check your Jamb brochure for more.

A man goes to the bank and asks for x dollars and y cents. The banker by mistake gives him y dollars and x cents. After spending 5 cents the man realises that he now has twice the amount he asked for. What was the amount he asked for?

you really don't need to, it's just an observation. personally, I have seen the handiwork of all this kind of people, not in my life, but peoples own. my grandfather is also a member of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity, my question is, if all this things are real, then, we only need mathematical proofs of their working principles

So you have not seen any of them in real life yet you believe they are real? And your only evidence or reason is mere rumours spread by schmucks in your village?.

I suggest you start reading books, from Psychology, Neuroscience, and Philosophy, and then you'll understand why doctors, philosophers and Psychologists will never take you serious if you start to blab about seeing ghosts.

Science/Technology / Re: Why Is It That Africans Are Not Scientific Inclined? by Madmathecian(m): 7:26pm On Nov 24, 2015
johnydon22:
There are two factors that contributed to the kind of pitiable state of Africans or Africa in terms of Science..

Cultural factor: A kind of mindset that Science is a foreign culture, Cultural restrictions and an undying effects of such dangerous mindset to the curiosity of a young mind in scientific enquiry.

Idiotic superstition have bolted Africans into such a state of chronic idiocy that most times it is sad to watch.

A bird fell from the sky---> Scientifically for one to ascertain what really went wrong with the creature, enquiry and deep study of the details and available datas can reveal such.

To an African -----> It's witchcraft.

Someone gets a headache, witches and enemies did it..

Religious Factor:: I have often watched in total sadness and dismay as many young minds on nairaland tag Science the work of devil..

How can Science in african ever improve when religious beliefs have murdered the minds of the youths, when their curiosity to know what is has been killed, when the youths see results of consistent deductions and approximations (science) to be an enemy because most of their dearly held ridiculous religious beliefs falls to mere idiocy in the face of scientific explanation.

therefore science is seen as an enemy..

We can never improve scientifically in this age that is marked by scientific wonders if we keep deluding our youths with such absurd ideas.

I have always affirmed that the only way to murder the intellectual development of our species is to indoctrinate in them as children unsubstantiated beliefs and superstitions of primitive men..

African is a typical case study..

I Love this.

Good job though but I don't totally agree with the h (60) interpretation because at t =60 the height is negative doesn't necessarily means the rocket is back to ground level it might as well means the time function is not valid for state or height of rocket at t=60

Not that I don't understand you but you should read what ladokuntlad wrote above succinctly, they ar constraints in exponential modelling.
H(60) is zero because of the strict inequality in the problem above.
