Whao! This place was really a place to be back then.
One of the legacies of late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe.

From the angle and the hostels in the background, this could be the present Margaret Cartwright Avenue!

The buildings built in those days were so solid!
Those buildings are still in perfect shape up until now.

How many were you in the rooms at the time? Which hostel did you stay in?
Did you have regular water supply when you lived there?
I lived in Marire hall (the hall was named after one jeffeson marire the former governor of Mid West region now Delta and Edo states in the First Republic). We were 1 to 2 in a room unlike other bigger hostels like Mbonu Ojike and Kenneth Dike that accommodated 2 or 3 students. The then Anambra State Water Corporation supplied water on a daily basis even though there was a time we experienced water scarcity in 1982. However it was resolved in a week. I hope i solved your curiosity.

This is embarrassing for all lionites. Back then in 1981 when I was admitted to study estate management in University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, we cleaned the hostels ourselves. There were no sweepers or employed hands to do it on our behalf. I am ashamed of what these current youths have turned into.

Officialpdpnig:
2 days ago there was a thread on front page which talked about Peter Obi claiming his two children do not own any car.

Well a twitter user who knows the son very well has come out to expose his lie.

He says Peter Obis Son owns 4 cars as against the claim by Obi that he owns none.

Ironically, the twitter user is Igbo like Peter Obi.

Here was the thread where Peter Obi made the claim

Attached is the twitter gist.

Mynd44 come and see
I live in golf estate. The twitter user is nothing more than a lie peddler. Peter obis son doesn't reside here. Every resident knows one another. The twitter user does not exist.

Being in Senate for 16yrs is not the problem at all. The problem is doing the right thing. It doesn't make any difference if you elect someone else so long as the grand plans don't change which is CALLING THEM TO ACCOUNT if they loot public treasures or not executing their official duties.

There are senators of 30 or more years in the US. Take John McCain for instance. Re-electing senators is not the problem. The problem is, what the heck they do there. You can elect other people and they had still do nothing for you. Grand structure (which include their responsibilities are what you need to challenge. Nigerians don't challenge them because of lack of awareness of their rights.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane .

These are photographs taken by Dr. Simon Ottenberg while on a research in Enugu state, Nigeria in the year 1959.

These pictures contain some scenes from the street of Enugu.

In the pictures, we also see some cars on the street.

Back in those days, these cars, as seen on the streets, were the then "latest" cars. Today, they are classified as vintage cars.

So, can you identify any of the cars on the street by their brand names?

TAMMY ABRAHAM: NIGERIA AS A FALLBACK OPTION?

Tammy Abraham | SwanseaCity.com

The FIFA Russia 2018 World Cup may just be 8 months away, but one starts to feel the world cup fever at the commencement of the qualifiers stage. It is usually during this stage that names start flying around as to who should represent the respective nations vying for a place in the global football fiesta. With Nigeria, “blessed” with footballers in diaspora, it’s never out of place for one to hear the names of players, some of which have never stepped into the shores of Nigeria, on the lips of many Nigerian fans. In this particular period, one of such names stand out for Nigeria — Tammy Abraham.

The quality of the just turned 20-year-old Chelsea loanee should never be put in question. Let me put this in Nigerian perspective.

Odion Ighalo versus Tammy Abraham Whoscored.com

At the age of 19, Tammy Abraham was already painting England with goals in the Championship 2016/17 season. Then with Bristol City, he scored 23 goals and made 3 assists from 41 appearances. Bringing a familiar Nigerian footballer to draw a logical comparison, Odion Ighalo at age 24, then at Watford FC in the Championship 2014/15 season, scored 20 goals, and made 3 assists from 34 appearances. Ighalo continued from there the following season, as the top scorer for his club in England’s first-tier, a similar path Abraham is currently threading on, with Swansea City.

With the above whoscored.com stats comparison in mind, one can argue that as it stands, Abraham can walk into the Super Eagles team and at least make the bench. With the potentials he has demonstrated so far against top sides like Arsenal in the English Premier League, it is certain that he would be a solid option for Nigeria going into the future — a future that will likely not come to be considering the way the matter of his international switch was handled by the NFF supremo, Chief Amaju Pinnick.

Granted, the chairman of the NFF had never been seen or heard beaming with confidence as regards player allegiance-switch matters. Nevertheless, in this one, the chairman considered his relationship with Tammy Abraham’s father a leverage, and mapped out a strategy to perfect convincing Tammy to opt for Nigeria instead. According to Amaju Pinnick’s statment as found in NFF’s official website, he had a meeting with the boy’s agent and his father, and also a senior member of the Super Eagles called in lend his support. However, the chairman’s public utterances in the tune of an early victory song, branded it a war against England for Tammy Abraham. This placed the English Press and FA on alert.

Subsequently, Tammy Abraham’s name was first on the list published by the English FA for players invited by senior team coach, Gareth Southgate, to prosecute England’s international friendly games with Germany and Brazil this November. With this just announced maiden call up, Nigeria is set to go into another round of guessing — will Tammy Abraham be cap-tied eventually?

but will you agree the pressure kept mounting on him not to turn up for Nigeria up to the last minute?
Consider this

Let's assume you base in lagos and your dream higher institution is university of lagos. You wrote jamb making unilag 1st choice while using another university as 2nd choice.. your 2nd choice institution gave you admission 1st list and your dream uni's 1st,2nd and 3rd list is out and your name isn't on them. You started the registration process in your 2nd choice only for a week later you get admission into unilag.. won't you drop your 2nd choice and embrace the first?

If Iwobi had his 100% interest on downing the England jersey and due to no interest forth coming he decided to jump ship only to discover that they really want him to play for them I think he would have jumped ship

Let's give the young man some kudos
