Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by marksi: 7:58pm On Mar 16, 2023
PPR Alert !!

2nd Time applicant
Self sponsored

1st refusal: 16th October 2022
Applied : 26th June 2022

Refusal reason:
1. Financial and asset
2. Inconsistent reason for study

GCMS Notes:
Finance: VO was concerned about lump sums in account and if I truly had access to it.
Establishment: VO was concerned to know study plan

Reconsideration sent within 10days of refusal - November 10th
No change in status. Feedback from Nairobi mail was that application was still under review as at Jan3rd 2023.

Reapplication: 31st January 2023
Medical Updated: 13th February
Eligibity : 15th Febrauary
PPR: 16th March

What I did differently:
*Explained each lump sum deposit in account.
*Paid 1 year tuition payment
*Sent full documents of my other landed properties (sent via webform but mentioned on SOP)
*Pictures of me and my siblings
*Revamped SOP in which I stressed the need and importance of the program to my career prospect in Nigeria
*consent letter from my spouse, attaching her employment history and MBS of salary account.
*Increased prayers (yes....divine intervention)

*I reuploaded my previous medical via webform before it was passed.
*Sent weekly webform and mail reminders to nairobi on my application with a subtle request for an early decision from 4th week
*Called IRCC to follow up about the status after 6weeks.

Observation: I think VOs work with a marking scheme (...these are just my thoughts):
Tution Paid: 20% , Home tie: 20%, Purpose of study (SOP): 20%, Financials: 20%, others (like Medical):20%

Once you scale through the pass mark (seem the bar is sentimental) , then you get your PPR!

I must commend my wife who turned out overnight to become an expert researcher and helped to navigate
this application to success. To you all here who also contribute to this tread. Your observation, agruments, pointers
etc are all helpful. Please keep up the selfless service.

It shall end in praise for us all.

So are the mobile policemen now disciples

moffymichael:

Who told you Jesus disciples were not armed? Cant u remember when they wanted to arrest Jesus and Peter drew out his SWORD and cut off the ear of one of the soldiers? The disciples were not only there for ministerial work, they were also there to maintain orderliness around Jesus.
Politics / Re: Ex-Governors In Edo To Get N200m Houses, Deputies N100m Houses by marksi: 12:26am On Nov 17, 2016
Nigerians need to wake up and stand up against this and other form of slavery.
The wealth of Nigeria belong to Nigerians. You may benefit from current official positions of national service
but that does not guarantee that you become part of a special inheritance team/squad after service.
Car Talk / Re: Car Battery; Can It Be Repaired? by marksi: 6:37am On Oct 24, 2016
Yes, your battery can be repaired but would not be too effective again.
Its better you raise funds to buy a new battery.

PLS Note - Find out from another source if the problem is actually the battery or the charging
system because many a time, a wrong assertion is made only for one to find out that its some other fault.

Education / Which Current Affairs Format Should Be Distributed For Free by marksi: 10:51pm On Oct 22, 2016
A friend of mine wants to give back to community and came up with the brilliant idea of gifting information of our motherland - Nigeria.

Now his challenge is which format to use to disseminate this highly educative and informative material.

He currently has 3 options in mind - Print, CD or Ebook.

Which of these options do you think is best and why?

Lets not be like this fellow I heard repeating this statement 10years ago :

If this corruption continue then what happened on the 3rd of March 1957 will repeat itself (loud)
If this corruption continue then what happened on the 3rd of March 1957 will repeat itself (louder)
If this corruption continue then what happened on the 3rd of March 1957 will repeat itself (louder)

curiously a bystander asked,'' Baba what happened then?"

The fellow replied, " nothing. That's why there is no progress today!"

My fellow nairalanders lets heed baba's advice and do the right thing in the forth comming elections.lets field in the right candidate, sponsor him/her and vote right.

On sighting the post .I presumed it was one of the numerous winners of a brand product promotion such as the numerous current promotions of different Nigerian Brands listed on www.promong.com and www.promong..com . I was impressed after reading the story.
This is a good lesson to all our ''get-rich quick'' syndrome youths. Hard work always pays in the end. The hardest part is maintaining that wealth and increasing it. We should all remember this verse;

Great wealth is inherited by some
Wealth is thrust at some others
While some need to toil to get it
Others won't no matter how they try.
Live your life each day with the richness God gives
And you will never have the destiny of the rich fool.
