realtalk19:Thank you so much! Problem is, I am contacting agents who post listings on Jiji and OLX since I don’t know anyone there. Which area would you recommend? I would be working from home (telecommuting), so I won’t be going out much, just for shopping and such. Electricity is what I desperately need. And fairly good roads when I have to go out. I’m mobile too. I'll appreciate that - the agent's contact. realtalk19: I don’t know if he is lying, but the agent insists the road in odogunyan is being fixed, and the electricity is one of the best in Ikorodu. What do you think? And is Ijede and Ijede road the same thing? |

busar:For work, I telecommute, so my concern is stable electricity. And good roads for the occasional outing. How do those areas fare when it comes to electricity? 1 Like |

TeflonBlixx: Bless you. If you have to advice between Odogunyan, CPI, and Ijede road, which would you recommend? |

TeflonBlixx: Please, what’s your take on Odogunyan in Ikorodu. Small London estate in Odogunyan precisely. Is the area OK, with fairly motorable roads (roads don’t have to be perfect) and electricity supply? Thank you. |

TeflonBlixx:Thanks, man. Wish I could contact you off Nairaland to consult on other things. Especially the location of real estate properties being offered to me by agents. Electricity and security is a big concern. |

TeflonBlixx: Thank you. Mind I ask how life is there? Do you have super malls around? And electricity supply? And how is the traffic for one who is mobile - would it be best to drive or take commercial? Do the services of ISPs like Spectranet get there? I know I have a lot of questions, I am considering relocating to the location, and I am not familiar with it at all. |

TeflonBlixx: Hi. Do you have a different opinion? |

kunleweb: Thanks a lot for your time! How about malls? And do they have Spectranet there, or other internet providers - besides mtn and others of course? |

kunleweb: Thanks! Any cons at all? And are super malls around there? - Do you live there? |

How safe is Ikorodu in recent times? Is it a safe place to move to, or does one need to constantly watch over one's shoulders? And the road network, electricity? |

Hello guys, How safe is Ikorodu in recent times? Is it a safe place to move to, or does one need to constantly watch over one's shoulders? And the road network, electricity? |

mrphysics: Yeah, I did. You have never used the platform before? Felt you have. |

mrphysics:No, it was a rep from sendvalu. He then followed up via e-mail. It was all sendvalu. They requested for my Payoneer monthly statement because my card is Payoneer and I used a Voter's Card, I guess. I withdrew from Fiverr to my Payoneer and used my Payoneer card on sendvalu. Sendvalu exchanges the dollars and sends the Naira equivalent to my Nigerian FirstBank account. I also noticed that the higher you withdraw, the more favorable the exchange rate: if you exchanged $30 for instance, the rate would be N318 to a dollar; alternatively, $300 gets you N342. Modified: I prefer it mostly because, compared to ATM, it is more convenient. The endless queues in the sun, then the multiple withdrawals, which is invariably accompanied by ranting from people on the queue. Lol. It's almost embarrassing. Besides, I don't think the ATM rates are better, considering the later is 342 (for $300, including charges). |

gsparks01:Not exactly, the limit is $314 (minus charges). But I believe you can send it in batches if you have more than $314. 3 Likes |

mrphysics:Hello, again Thanks for your help. They later requested that I verify my account, then I got a phone call from one of their reps. The process was almost expedient, albeit I encountered a slight hiccup when they stated, via e-mail, that my Voter's Card couldn't be accepted. I responded to the e-mail, practically pleading since I had $300 hanging on their platform. They later considered it and requested for my Payoneer monthly statement, which I sent. It took less than 24 hours for my account to be credited. The transaction charge was $6.57 (300 + 6.57 = 306.57), and I received N104,925. This translates to a rate of N342/$, including charges. mrphysics: Hello again, Mrphysics: I just initiated a transfer via sendvalu with my Payoneer Mastercard, but I did not receive any e-mail (or regular in-site notification) asking that I verify my account. Isn't the request for verification instant? Thanks. |

mrphysics: Thank you. I will try it now: I want to use my Payoneer card. |

mrphysics: Hello, I have been following your recent posts on this thread concerning the disabled Payoneer MAP feature. I am curious, does sendvalu accept Voter's card as a means of account verification? If yes, how long does the verification process take? Thank you. |

MrBrownJay1:Thanks for your input, MrBrownJay1. However, don't you feel the chances of socializing in a place like Lagos is high when compared with a non-hip suburb? I mean, I could decide to take a hike here for miles without coming across a fun spot. Could the same be said for somewhere like Lagos? Mostly, I would also like to meet new people who could drag me out of my comfort zone. I feel considering the teeming youth population in Lagos, the chances of that are high. Is it not? |

Hello, Nairalanders, I need your help. I have been a guest on here for quite some time. I am in my mid-20s, and an introvert with very little friends (most of whom are online friends) and currently stay in an isolated Nigerian state where the chances of networking are reasonably low. I hate that I feel lonely most times since I have no friends to hang out with here, I am now considering moving to Lagos. Is this a wise decision? I have always loved being by myself and chose a career path that allowed me to work from home. A job that is not location dependent, meaning I can live anywhere with stable electricity. I also earn roughly 200k each month, so I think I am financially capable of living in Lagos - let me know if I am wrong. I love my comfort zone, but I feel that I may need to get out there and meet people, possibly, start a romantic relationship. Do you think I am perfectly set up to live in a city like Lagos? The traffic doesn't bother me since I have no where to rush to. I look forward to your combined inputs. Thanks |
