Please I need clarification on this important question and would appreciate your feedback.

I used the UPS two way courier service and I got a mail from VFS saying my passport is ready for collection at VFS Abuja. I did my biometric in Lagos and also sent my passport to Lagos but getting that mail from VFS is confusing. Also I checked the VFS tracking website and saw that my passport is in CVAC Abuja. Please is something wrong?

I have reached out to UPS and they said it will be delivered but what am getting from VFS is that I have to pay 18k for courier and sign a form.

PS: I was asked to pay 5,100 there about for two way courier at UPS and I don’t know if that’s the right amount I am expected to pay for it.

My wife's PPR is out. I applied on 19th December 2022 (with upfront medical). PPR issued on 2nd March.

Thanks sooo much for your contribution. It was this thread that made me apply for SOWP for my wife. Initially, I wanted to apply for visitor visa but people advised me against it and recommended I apply for SOWP instead. I was initially scared about the processing time I was seeing on cic, but PPR has just been issued in just 2.5 months.

PPR dropped for my wife and children yesterday.

SOWP for my wife, a student visa for my first child, and visiting for my lastborn.
Their applications were submitted before I left Nigeria.

I got my student visa in June, and I then deferred admission from September to January.

Documents submitted:
4 months bank statements (both MBS and statements of account)
Marriage certificate and loads of family pictures
Her work-related documents
daughter's school-related documents
Children's birth certificates

Timeline:
Upfront medical: November 7, 2023
Application submitted: November 11, 2022
Biometric: November 14, 2022
I ordered the first GCMS through anon123 on December 11th, and it arrived on January 10th, 2023, with nothing but medical passes.
Medical passed: December 14, 2022 (this was 2 days after my wife sent them an emotional email)
Eligibility review: We are not sure when this started, but we saw it on December 30, 2022.
I ordered the second GCMS on January 12th and am still waiting for it.
PPR: February 3, 2023

I got to Canada on January 3, 2023.
My wife immediately sent my student permit letter, course enrollment, and class schedule through email and Webform IRCC.

God has been faithful to us, and I give Him all glory.

My timeline:
Submitted 9th Nov
We had biometric from a visitor’s visa application submitted in June 2022. After waiting for 5 months, we decided to put in SOWP.

Eligibility started 29th Jan 2023
Medicals passed 29th Jan 2023
Medicals changed to we do not need medical exam, we will let you know bla bla bla 3rd Jan 2023, apparently our medicals expired.

4th Jan GCMS notes received and indicated “Review Required” on my eligibility for a document they claim my spouse didn’t submit. Apparently it was submitted initially but we sent again via webform.

We booked and did another medicals 16th Jan.
Qlife confirmed they had sent our medical results on 21st Jan 2023.

31st Jan 2023 at exactly 8:30pm our love letters landed.

Only God can do this. I promised I will share my timeline to encourage other people waiting.

Just yesterday, I was asking why people are not sharing their timeline to encourage pple because I was down and needed to read from people, but here I am sharing mine.

Please be encouraged. God is working behind the scenes for you.

I applied in September and my medical has not been updated till today not to talk of getting any update. My spouse has sent webform emails and reached out to MP like couple of times but no response and MP responded saying SOWP applications usually takes months so there is nothing they can do.We are hoping on God and we would testify soon!!

PPR !!! For a family of five.
My spouse traveled to Canada on student visa in August 2022. I applied for myself and three kids in October 2022.
Timeline
1. Family application, Sowp for me, study permit for two of the kids and visit visa for the third kid on the 21st October
2. Biometrics on the 27th October
3. Medical request by IRCC on the 28th November
4. Medical screening submitted on 27th and passed on 28th December
5. PPR on the 30th for all members of the family.

I appreciate nairaland as I did everything on my own and from information gotten here.

Note: I used the old gckey account my spouse used in getting her study permit.

Pls as soon as ur spouse lands in Canada you can put in ur application as it's not necessary to wait as most people presume.

Documents sent
1. Mbs statement for me and my spouse
2. Leave letter from office
3. 3 months Pay slip
4. Pension statement of account
5. IELTS
6. WES evaluation
7. Kids letter from school
8. Landed documents
9. House documents
10. Employment letter, promotion letter

It's faster and better to go for SOWP instead of visit visa.....

Biometrics and Upfront medicals done same day
Upfront medical approved after 2weeks (two mails sent)
Then the Long wait..
(PPR for all 3 )Nov. 17th

I used Nairaland for everything. I read and asked questions when needed.
I use N7m as POF and submitted all work document and credentials.. then the kids I used my acceptance letter
