adexkem: my brother i agree with you that your host will influence your choice of career. Speaking from my experience. My host was into nursing assistant kind of job. I was advice to come with specified amount of money to register for the program. Which i did two weeks after i got to us. Under 7weeks when i got to usa have gotten a certified nurse assistant. This is after written and pass board exam. Cos every thing here is attach to one board or the other. I think the moral lesson from that story is come with enough money while coming. Dont hope on your host. Cos in most job you must be train before you are hire. Talk of nursing assistant ,tax driver, security, name it. More importantly , has a new comer try to better understand the message of this phase 'i will not settle for less' it does not mean you should not start from the least job. My first job was plate washer in jamaica restaurant. Later i moved to nurse assistant. While i wa

mmm

Do they need O levels to start Nursing assistant program? Please your answer will be apreciated very much

idriez: Let me start by giving glory & adoration to the most High God and by saying a BIG THANK YOU to you all.... I really appreciate you all for the wonderful prayers, wishes and inspiration... words are inadequate to express my feelings, joy & appreciation, I pray the Almighty God grant your hearts desires and meet you at the point of your needs IJMN... Amen.
Now to my testimony:
I left the house by 5am and on descending from 3rd mainland bridge towards Onikan(around 5:40am), my car suddenly stopped accelerating, I tried all possible but to no avail as the gear was no longer selecting though engine was on & working fine, I & my wife had to push it under the bridge towards the Officers mess before the Lagos Island- VI bridge(b4 Bonny camp). we spoke to the officer guarding the park by the lagoon and he agreed we park there while we get a mechanic to come fix the car, time then was 6:05am. We kept our phones, took our documents from the car and headed for the embassy on foot as it was nearby, got to the embassy by 6:25am and people were already there waiting for the officials to arrive. they finally arrived around 7am and We observed all the necessary protocols, checks and got ushered in; coincidentally I picked the same No I picked last week thursday. I noticed that The hall was filled that people also had to stand, then our name was called to confirm that we were around (as we had previously made payments & submitted all necessary documents last week) , after which we waited for the interview to start proper.
At exactly 8:45am my number was called at window 14, our finger prints were taken and oath administered. Thereafter, our interview went thus:
CO: good morning
We: good morning sir
CO: Do you swear to say nothing but the truth?
We: yes I do
CO: what's your highest level of Education?
Me: blah blah blah..
CO: What do you do now?
Wife: blah blah blah...
CO: Where did u have your NYSC?
Wife: blah blah blah
CO picks papers & circle address & says "Congratulations, pick up your visa at circled address in a week's time and make sure you pay USCIS money online b4 leaving for US, Enjoy your stay in USA".

Imagine, interview took less than 5mins and No questions on O' levels, marriage, job description & also pictures(family) were not checked etc.... God you are too much.
I prophesy into someone's life.... God that did my own, will surely do your's too.

God indeed is too much, congrats to you and your wife

Bigpiper:
Thank you my brother. Its absolutely the grace of God because after my primary school certificate was remove, the only thing I had left besides the basics (npc, police character report etc) was my job completion certificate (na ojota under bridge I learn work o). One thing I noticed is the surprise on her face when I talked abt my work schedule. She asked me how come I spoke so well without an education. Long story short, its God o, I know I'm not qualified and my brother that did not tell me about nairaland until after the interview helped. I wouldn't have carried on with the visa processing if I had read through this site. My advice to others is even if you are not qualified, please don't give up ... America is worth the try and the money you'll spend. Good luck all waiting for interview and 2NL. Yours will be testimony too.

Congaturations brother, you really talented you also write so well, the CO noticed your talent go live your american dream. To God be the glory!!

seal777: TO THE GLORY OF GOD : SEAL 777, VISA GRANTED 7 FEBRUARY, 2013. grin

I had my visa interview this morning at the Lagos embassy in what i can consider the easiest and cheapest interview by a nairalander and my visa was granted.

Depart home 6.05 am, got to the embassy gate 6.58, submit 2nl and cleared with a tag number B417, went through security check and made payment in the interview hall, called at window 15 for submission of original and photocopies of credentials and was ask to wait for my number to be called.

I was there 2 years ago for a study visa which was denied but the whole arrangement has changed compare to 2011 with all activities brought under one roof in an open hall.

I sat in the front row so as to have a better view of other people's interviews but was forced to leave my seat for an elderly woman who wanted to sit close to her son. I ended up sitting at the full glare of the slim white lady of window 16 and I would confess, she was very direct and straight to business unlike others who were very calm and much more friendly in their interviews.

After hours of waiting, I.saw the white guy in window 14 talking to another white chubby guy in the cubicle showing him my credentials in the process and few minutes after that I was called by the white guy in window 14 for my interview.

My interview lasted for less than 5 minutes and it goes thus:

Co: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning, how was your nite?
Co: Good

TOOK MY FINGER PRINT AND TAKE OATH

Co : Are you ( he mentioned my Surname ).
Me: Before he could mention it I completed the names and told him, very correct.
Co: What is your highest level of education.
Me: Bachelor of science in accounting.
Co: Which school is that?
Me: Obafemi Awolowo Univerisity, ile ife
Co: did you observe the national service?
Me: Yes
Co: Where?
Me: Kabba, Kogi state
Co: What was ur service all about?
Me: Teaching
Co: What are u doing currently?
Me: I am the Business Development Manager in my own company ( i had the registration certificate but he never ask me ).

He kept typing and later brought out one white form and circled an address and told me my application is fsvourable and should go and pick my visa next and make sure I pay the 165 dollar green card processing fee.

CO"S INTERVIEW ROLL CALL FOR THE DAY :

Black lady in window 13 :
Granted 4, Denied 2

White Guy in window 14
granted 5 visas ( including mine and curiously granted a guy his visa without WAEC.
Denied 1

(THE GUY CLAIMED HE NEVER SAT FOR WAEC IN HIS SCHOOL BECAUSE HIS PARENTS COULD NOT AFFORD 34,000 TO PAY BUT INSTEAD OPT FOR GCE WHICH IS MORE CHEAPER 6,500 ). HE NEVER TOOK WAEC AT ALL.

White lady in window 16
Granted 2 visas ( 1 dv and one other to little girl on filling )
Denied 4 married couples ( all with 2- 3 children each )
Pending 1 married ( ask to wait for appraisal of their case ) i left them there anyway.
God is my witness, my interview lasted between 2 to 4 minutes because of his typing and was the shortest and simplest of the whole interview I observed in the hall.

Kudos to Kemzone for the indepth links, very educative and informative and to other guys in the house GOD BLESS US ALL.

ALLAHU AKBAR, HIS MIGTY NAME BE PRAISED FOR HIS MERCIES.
Me: bef
Glory be to God this is gud news for sure

uniqueprivacy: First of all i want to thank God almighty for proving to me that He is God and still answers prayers. Also to tahnk other forumites for your wonderful contributions to this success story of mine. I want you guys to know that you are very important and beleive that when God is involved in a thing he will always create an avenue to ensure that that thing comes out successful especially when we rely absolutely on Him and not our own strenght. I had so many quetions in my mind after receiving ma 2NL, but didn't know how to get answers until someone introduced me to this new family i never knew i will have, that is you(Nairaland Forum), yes you that is reading this message. Thank you so much for your encouragement, guidance and challenges. My prayers are that God will make us all useful to our selves, to Him, to our families, to our country and the world at large.Only be positive and good cos it pays to be good and a great loss to be evil.
And to the gurus (names ommited) in the house , you know urselves and we all know you keep up with the good job, only God can pay you.

Now here is my interview experience.
I arrived the embassey at 5:55am, waited outside till abt 6:30am before we were asked to queue up for the security checks and finally to the interview hall at about 7:15am.
waited with anticipation to see how this white lady at window 16 looks like, finally she came up and another gentle white man in window 15 and yet another at window 13. befor this, our numbers were called at different windows for submission of our documents by blacks, and my docs were collected at window 16, so i felt that was it, that i will be interviewed at that window, but to my surprise it was window 15 that later called my number.
CO: good morning
me: replied with a polite smile
co: do you promise to tell the truth and nothing buth the truth?
me: absolutely i do
co: what's your highest level of education
me: HND in full
co: from which sch
me:replied
co:what's your discipline
me:replied
co:which year did you graduate
me:2010
co:Mr. mentioned my name we have gone thru your document and every information provided is ok and no further question. congratulations, brought out a white sheet and cicled and address and then said pick up your visa at this address on monday next week.
me:thank you with a million smiles.

It was God who did it and not me,to Him alone be all the glory.
plesae take note when going for your interview, go with someone who can take care of unwanted items, or go with a car where you can keep them. For nursing mothers you are not allowed to go in with baby food, please feed your baby ouside befor going inside, except for breast feeding.

Wishing you all that are still expecting best of luck. the God that did it for me, will also do it for you, but pls try to know Him more not just for the purpose of this interview, but throughout your life. It pays to know and to serve God.
God bless us all in jesus name, amen.

Our God is gud congrats to you and ur wife sir.

seye4God: Our interview experience!!!

Praise God!!! Rejoice with my family. The LORD has done a wondrous thing once again.

It was on Wednesday, 23rd January 2013. We got to the Embassy some minutes passed 8am.

We waited under the tree rented a seat for my wife at the rate of N150. My younger brother was with us. I was told we would need Four Passports Photograph each. The requirement we met already. At exactly 5minutes to 10am, we were told to come in for our interview. We queued to verify our entry with other diversity visa lottery winners.

After our confirmation, we were ushered to the screening security machine where we put off our shoes, belts, wrist watch, etc.
In fact, we went with many luggages as if we were travelling to America that very day. I noticed we were the only applicant that came with many luggages. My wife named was called for submission of documents and instructed to pay for the VISA Fees at other cubicle. I paid for 5 people - my wife, three daughters and self (almost N280,000 non refundable).

Our documents were sorted and collated. Our submitted forms to Kentucky had been thoroughly and carefully reviewed by officers of the embassy and recommendation had been made. Just to submit your original and photocopied documents for verification and cross examination. Reviewing of one’s submitted form before the interview makes the task easier for the Consular Officer who will then use his/her discretion to check if truly one deserves the visa. Mind you, the internal officers would have suggested to the Consular Officer those errors and mistakes noted in conformable with the DV instruction as stated therein – click to read for your perusal and necessary action. (http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2013_instructions_ENGL.pdf).
Most of the applicants do not often read this instruction before applying. Most believe so much on “I heard and they said”. It is better we go through the DV instruction ourselves without falling victims.

At exactly 12noon, my wife number: (B-347) was called. We went to window 16 (a place where most Nigerians pray not to go). I see nothing difficult in that lady. She speaks clear and simple. Successful Applicants do not need to entertain any fear. Keep your receipt very well ooooooooooo. I could not find where I kept the receipt. Meanwhile, it was inside the envelope where I kept the balance of N280,000 (I later saw it when we got home). The lady said we should not bother to search we should just come for the interview. After we promise to say the truth by raising our right hands; she then requested to take our finger prints – both left and right.

Thereafter, our interview went thus:
CO: What was the date of birth of the twins?
My wife: nnnnnnnnnn
CO: Where is your first child?
My wife/I: She was disturbing other applicants where they sat and I went to carry her
CO: Okay. She is the one.
CO: In your original entry you said you have only one child; but after you won you included the twins; that means they were born couple of months before entry for the DIVERSITY VISA.
My wife: YES
CO: According to the policies and law of the DV section so and so….. you application has been disqualified. Madam, I am very sorry. There is nothing I could do at this juncture. I did not make the law. I am very sorry.
My wife: I travelled when my husband played the lottery. The twins where delivered at home….nanana and nanananana
CO: Madam, I said I am sorry. I have many clients to attend to. Please leave now!
My wife/I: FATHER! We thank you for this successful interview. We just want to thank you despite being denied. You are our GOD and we would continue to serve you more in respecting of what must have happened.
We saw, conquered devil and overcame all our enemies who thought we may be sick or died as a result of rejection. Our GOD is a strong tower. He is our shield since we put our trust in Him.

LESSON TO LEARN:
• Put your trust in GOD!!!
• Pray and fast
• Be yourself and speak confidently (God made my wife to speak confidently despite being denied)
• Read the instruction thoroughly
• Visit https://www.nairaland.com/927190/dv-2013-winners-meet-here/415 to follow detailed experience from Nigerians
• Be organized
• If you are successful, help people around you

OBSERVATIONS:
• Applicants should not be made to pay before interview. It is supposed to be after the interview since the fees is not refundable.
• I am sure many will be granted and still the number of people that would be denied will be more than those that will be granted. Multiply that money of denials with the charging fees.
• Many families sold there belongings, properties, etc and even borrowed to pay for the visa fees.
• If you are part of the denials, please don’t kill yourself. God knows the best. The Christ in US is far better that the crisis in the world.
• Keep serving and worshiping God. We have known God more!!!
• But still my wife and I were extremely glad after the rigorous interview. Today, we were denied; only GOD knows tomorrow. Americans may be begging for us to come there. There is nothing our GOD cannot do. I will encourage those that were denied to often share their testimonies and experience for other Nigerians to be conscious of them.

We have learnt our lessons.
We know GOD more; during this struggle we knew those people that truly love us. We knew people that could only eat with you when the deal is done. We did what we thought we could not be able to do. AMERICA is our dream; ONE-DAY we shall be there.

Best of luck to those applicants going for their interview.
If you are in America; endeavour to help the needy. Share your wealth with people that are less privileges. 1Samuel2:5-8 (it is not your power that made you rich)
If you are not successful; share your experience with people that have not gone for their interview who knows; it may be of help to them.
Finally, even you make all requirements and obey the laws and policies of DV; if God said NO; it will still be NO. I am very sure many will still be denied and many will be surely granted.

I wish you all the best!!!

I learnt many have lost thousands to an Agent already before the interview. DV is what you can play yourself. I played it freely for all. It takes nothing from me.
You bad DV Agent that is exhorting money from Nigerians; you better change your mind before it is too late!!! Repent and turn a new leaf. May God forgive us!!!

God's delay is not God's denial, one day ur dream will come true. In everything we thank God

honeydee: Dis lottery is a test of ur patience. First you apply and wait anxiously for may to see if uve won.if u don't win u wait anxiously for the nxt lottery to start so u can play. If you win, you wait anxiously for visa bulletin to make you current. After that you start waiting again for 2nd nl, then you wait again for interview. Even after a successful interview you still wait anxiously to pick up ur visa. Den u wait till u finally land in usa, wait for gc and ssn ...... Patience is key. God is with us. We will all smile at the end of the day in Jesus Name. Amen

GLORY BE TO OUR GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS AND MERCIES ENDURES FOREVER. AMEN. Good afternoon house. I've been reading this thread for some time and i must say it has really helped my wife and I a lot. My wife and I just had a successful interview at the US embassy in Ghana and will like to share my experience with the house.

We got to the embassy around 7am went through the security checks and went straight to the visa section. There were a lot of would be immigrant waiting to be called for interview. After an hour we called to pay the visa fee and were asked to sit and wait again. My guys we sat there for almost 2 hours before we were called again to present our documents.
Please house I advice u present only the required documents. And for couples don't forget your foto albums.

We waited for another hour and we were finally called to windows 8.

CO : Good morning
ME : Good morning Sir grin grin grin grin(remember to smile well well)
CO : Put your right index finger on some machine and asked my wife to do same.
CO : Do u sear to tell the truth so help u God ?
ME : Yes I do.
CO : Do you have any relatives in America ?
ME : No but my wife's aunty is there
CO : When did u meet your wife ?
ME : 1st October 2009.
At this point the CO stepped aside and started arranging our documents followed by endless typing.
He then stretched his hands and gave us the blue visa collection and told us to come back on Friday morning for our visas. I then asked if i can come alone to collect the visas.

Guys that was it just 2 questions. This miracle is just too much for me. BABA GOD DO AM AGAIN OOOOOOOOOO. HELP ME TO SAY THANK U TO JEHOVAH GOD FOR ALL THAT YOU'VE THAN FOR MY WIFE AND I.

TO THOSE YET TO GO FOR THEIR INTERVIEW REMEMBER TO PRAY BEFORE U GO. AND ITS WELL. SEE U IN AMERICA SOON.
