Family / Re: Wedding Ring Palava by mayosday(m): 2:32pm On Feb 23, 2012 |
Hmmmmmmmm, i'm a guy and understand how the man feels about it. Even if he has the money, a respectable wife would not go ahead and buy herself a ring without the husband's permission. As for the man, women would always be women. even issues talked about would still be brought up weeks or months later how much more issues not resolved? Both contributed but every wife should submit to her own husband. If there was no proposal at the first place, ring no go be issue especially if she's really aging. She go collect rope tie for the hand if the situation got ugly. Lesson for men, if you can't cope with a girl with high taste and love for classy things, respect yourself and marry a girl who has a moderate taste as yours and would place more value in upholding the commitment than the symbol used. For the women it's easy to change a man's stand. Try not to in anyway be confrontational, spite his ego, play the smart ass and be gentle about your request. |
Family / What Made/makes You Cry Over Your Family? by mayosday(m): 12:08pm On Feb 23, 2012 |
I once heard you can change your name, school, friends, gender, everything but your family. Disown or Denial is only self delusion. This is just to encourage each other by sharing what made/makes us cry as pertaining to our family. Getting the ball Rolling: Never knew people don't last forever. Never really had a chance to say a proper goodbye before i lost my dad. Till date, i've never cried with so much pain when he passed away years ago over anything/ anyone. Now i value the rest of my folks and friends too learning from such lesson. I would rather choose a misunderstanding over death of a family/ friend and work towards making peace. |

Literature / Two Things On My Mind by mayosday(m): 10:15am On Feb 16, 2012 |
Eyes opened to the first light of day, Thanking God… I think about you. All set for work, I dash out of the house, Heading to the office… I think about you. Getting the day’s business sorted, not losing sight of my job… I think about you. Lunch break, a breath of fresh air, in the lounge having my meal… I think about you. Closing Hours concluding the day’s job, shutting down hitting the road… I think about you. Night has drawn near, a word of appreciation to God… I never stop thinking about you. If there be two things on my mind regardless of the physical distance, you’re always on my mind. PS: If it's dedicated to you, how would you feel? |
Romance / Re: Whats The Worst Thing Youve Ever Done In A Relationship? by mayosday(m): 3:13pm On Feb 08, 2012 |
ti-ebe: I quite agree with you on one hand abt allowing people speak abt their worst, no one is a judge buh people shd show some remorse (at least). 3 sisters and still talking abt their mother in some kinda manner, that's over the edge i'd say. |

Though it was an experience and made me better and more matured; it was ever going into a relationship in the university. Now it's clear only abt 3% of campus relationship ends up in marriage. long debates over trivial things, leaving issues unresolved, nags, and the usual end (if amicable is), "let's be friends". how do u think you can run a relationship with ur pocket money that you dint work for. mtcheew yeye posing. twas in school i saw a guy cry over a girl who said no to him (the guy na big boy now), Gurls who left their campus guys and now married to some correct Bros dat's more well to do, or is it that the then big boys can barely buy airtime for themselves and expect the girls to stay, Wondered why parents usually ask girls (when they get to tell their parents abt their relationships) what is he doing? Not primarily because of the money, but anyone who's matured to handle some sort of paid employment has a better attitude/prospects towards the relationship. Now things a better and clearer. I'm working and can/do spend way above my pocket money in a semester on her comfortably and joyfully. When there's a project, she gives me no single pressure. Sometimes i beg her to collect money. In all things, i'm grateful to God because He somehow makes beautiful things out of wrecked or wretched lives. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Literature / She’s Admirable by mayosday(m): 12:43pm On Feb 07, 2012 |
Fragile and weak, she carefully observes the elements. From the blazing sun rays, to the wind’s combing effect on the fields. Instead of sulking over her weaknesses, she carefully observes them. She distinguishes the grasses voice from the subtle movement of predators. With no matching strength of her predators, she makes the rock her home. At dinner she tells her babies, life should be used to their advantage. That every seemingly weakness should be identified and fortified. Denial is deadly and wishing for a better you is a language for fools. Whenever our name “CONY” is mentioned, it doesn’t ring a bell of frailty rather, of the ones who fortified their weaknesses. The creator made you beautiful and everything to your advantage. IF YOU ASK ME, I’LL SAY SHE’S SIMPLY ADMIRABLE.

Literature / Yet She Still Waits: (respect Every Woman Around You) by mayosday(m): 8:37am On Jan 24, 2012 |
She walks out with her crying baby. Shuts the door quietly not to awake her tired husband. Raising her blouse to breast-feed her crying baby, she noticed she couldn't feel her palms. Hurting blisters from the previous night in a bid to have dinner set for her husband. Tears flowed down her cheeks freely in sad memories few hours back. She tries to wipe her tears but for her swollen face from the blows of her drunken husband. Backing her fast sleeping baby, it was few hours to dawn. While boiling water for her husband to take his bath, breakfast was packed, clothing well ironed and shoes reflecting the halo from the candle flames. Not a single word of appreciation nor a response to her goodbye. Weeks, months, years, Yet she still waits |
