Thanks for responding. Do you mean at departure or arrival, and do you know the rate?

Gentlemen, I plan on travelling to Seoul for a conference next month. Can anyone advise on where best to obtain the Korean Won and what rates to expect?

I would appreciate any other tips for a first-time traveller to South Korea.

Cheers.

I had acne issues when I was a teen - which isn't so long ago - and I found that a certain product worked wonderfully for me. It's called Epiderm. There are two variants; lotion and cream. The lotion seemed the more effective one although both were the same in chemical composition. The product didn't only eliminate the acne; it gave my face a fine smoothness that matched my innocence and fueled my narcissism self esteem.

At some point I decided that I looked fresh enough and so I didn't trouble to renew my Epiderm subscription, and that's where the trouble began.

The acne didn't return, but my face which had all the loveliness of a baby's asś started to feel like it was made from jeans. There was a lot of dryness, and after a while there was some mild scaling, starting from between my eyes. Then there was some itching.

I couldn't stand any of that. I dived for my wallet and purchased the lotion again, and it has been that way since: I'm perfectly happy when I use the product but the roughness and scaling and general misery return as early as three days after I stop. It's like a heroine addiction. How can I make it go away? What lasting solution is there? I hold considerable stock in the chick market. I don't want to lose it.

One more thing. Recent reports suggest that there has been some lightening in my complexion. This is something I cannot explain and am very worried about. Could it also be due to the lotion? I use Nivea body lotion and have my bath with Premier Cool.

Abuamam:

Actually, that picture was of a muslim man being killed in the CAR unrest. I saw that picture in a news article and downloaded it then, but I don't remember the site I got it. Evil is evil anyhow. All forms.

Idrismusty97:
That picture is even from the central Africa republic(C.A.R), I remembered watching it on Aljazeera. The man was eventually killed... Accused of being a seleka rebel. While the French peacekeepers watch in amusement how he and others suspects are lynched. Most of the pictures are just remix from both Nigeria and other African countries. There are probably worst done in Nigeria that is not documented anyway, We got the message. Violence shouldn't be an option! No one wins...

shurl4:

Very frightning picture I must say. However let me quickly point out that particular picture was taken during the recent conflict in the Central African Republic and not in Nigeria. Hope that calms your nerves down a bit.
@Op,please be sure of the original sources of your pictures, some of them never took place in Nigeria. Thanks.

Oh. Thanks for clearing that up. I suspected that some of the pictures are of foreign crises.

These pictures (and the anomaly they reflect) evoke unspeakable sadness, but that picture with the young fellow poised to stab the shirtless older man, that picture is truly frightening. The youth is just about to take a human life, but look how cold and casual he seems.

Career / Re: Learn How To Use Excel Spreadsheets For Beginners by McboG: 8:18pm On Oct 16, 2013
manny4life: This question is for intermediate users.

Problem 1: The table below states the grading system range from 75% to 100%, grade in alphabetical order. For instance, >=90 is "A". Compute a simple formula to grade from 75 to 100.

This is the table below

Column A

95 (A+)

90 (A)

85+ (B+)

80+ (B)

75+ (C+)

Assuming cell B1 is the active cell (for instance you enter 90 to use as a guide), and B2 is the dependent cell (use B1 to enter your function), write the function showing if B1 is changed to any of the figures shown above, what should be the resultant expression. Example, if B1 is changed from 90 to 80, the resultant value of B2 should say "B"

Tips: Use ONLY the "IF" function and also nest your formulas. If you use other Logical expressions, please state why.

Note: Do not forget to make write the basic expression of () if B1 is blank. If B1 is blank, use N/A

Time to complete: 15mins at the most.

Are you saying that the appellation of Doctor which you have affixed to your name is merely ornamental? That you are neither a medical doctor, nor the holder of a PH.D in the much-sought-after field of the Meteorology of Punting?

There are few things more devastating than following a thread which purports with considerable cockiness that it holds the key to secrets which will keep green the grass on your betting slip, only for the starter of the thread to rescind on the bargain, deciding instead that he is always busy in the bush since he is a farmer.

I have conducted preliminary investigations, of course, and the topics which have been created previously by the Doctor Isa handle suggests that the real owner of the moniker may know more about rearing livestock than ruining bookies. In any case, the culpability of all users of the Doctor Isa moniker(permanent or temporary) cannot be expunged on any account. The fake Doctor Isa is liable for misleading the honourable public of the punters community; the real one is liable for his negligence, and the resultant psychological distress which it occasioned on the numerous and expectant followers of this thread, some of whom may even now be making a noose with which to end their lives because of hefty sums lost to dubious predictions.

All the Doctor Isas, you have heard charges against you. How do you plead?

You're the man, man! The modem is fixed for good, sure as hell. I assure you I'm not gonna forget this, Femi, and the next time there's a vacancy for a tech geek at the CIA I'll be sure to put in a word in your favour.

On a tragic note, there has been a rather incredible development regarding that barbecue we were supposed to have. I'm sure you'll understand.

It's a jarring tragedy, as all sudden misfortunes are, but it really isn't all that much of a surprise. Creaky joints, loose bolts and rusty parts can almost be seen as the chopper struggles overhead, usually just a few meters over the top floor of Abuja Hostel, making a noise like a locomotive engine. That bird had always looked unsafe to me. It's a sad thing that it led to the loss of lives.
Education / Re: 328 Medical Students Sue Unijos by McboG: 3:48pm On Feb 24, 2012
I know a number of persons who found themselves on the wrong side of the screening exercise, one or two are close friends and i can tell you that some of them sunk into spells of inconsolable depression.

However, that development occurred sometime last session and i was made to understand that possibly all the affected students were reassigned to other faculties of their own choosing.

A new session began last year, first semester exams have been scheduled for early/mid April in fact; most of the displaced students appear to have accepted their fate and gotten on with their academics in their new departments. So, ain't the lawsuit thingy rather belated?

I cannot help but wonder what remedy could possibly be available to these students. Reinstatement may be considered impractical as it would cost the department its licence. Some sort of pecuniary compensation perhaps?

Situations like this are almost impossible to fix
to everyone's taste. The school should've done the right thing from the very start. Regrettably, the school administration have repeatedly shown an unwillingness to apply reason even in the simplest of decisions.

Your work, sir, is simply BAD!!! You know, as in,  good, better, bad!! Every single line of the story had all the strings of my heart pulled taut. Jeez, i never imagined nigerians wrote stuff in the suspense/thriller genre. In truth, i've always wanted to write like this. The story, the technique, the simple but enthralling choice of words, everything's wicked. I hope you win bro, and not only that competition.

Can you drink run-off water from
stone-coated sheets and aluminium?
Of course not! But why will you want
to drink run-off water from your roof?

Your answer's quite enlightening and it does confirm my own thoughts regarding durability. The guy who's supposed to do the metro thing mentioned something in the region of a fifty-year warranty.

Now about why anyone would want to drink run-off water from their roof; the question really tickled me. Hehe
You see, my mum is Mother Nature's niece, so to speak. She does stuff that's crazier than that, like eat aloe vera raw. Besides, it's a village setting and the practice is quite common among those who've got the old corrugated iron sheets.

@Cinzo
Thanks for bothering with a reply. Went through the previous pages of the thread and i must say your dogged optimism is really inspiring.

Good day y'all, nice thread you got going here; it's made really interesting reading, very helpful too, considering i'm more or less involved in some building work.
I've got a question and i'd be glad if some thing will be made clear to me.

Our house is in the roofing stage now and my mum is typically fussy about the kind of roofing sheets we should use. Initially we planned on using metro tiles (if that's what they're called --- the ones with some coarse coating) as against aluminium step tiles (i hope you understand my amateurish description). Now she's worrying about totally frivolous things like whether rain water from the first kind (metro tiles) can be drunk --- she has a fetish for such traditional practices.

Also, she seems to have been sold the idea that the aluminium kind lasts longer than the 'stone-coated' kind. I don't agree with her, but my opinion doesn't count as expert advice. So now that i've come upon this thread i'd really appreciate it if these questions are answered.

I'll state them again for the sake of simplicity:
Is rain water from stone-coated/metro roofing tiles drinkable?
Do aluminium step tiles actually last longer than the stone-coated kind?

Thanks.

I just came across this thread and I'm so touched by its content that I feel obligated to contribute. Christian rock bands have some of the most touching christian songs you'll ever hear. Here's a list of my favourites, Band name followed by song titlewith my favourite line beneath:
Casting Crowns----> Prodigal
(And i've held out as long as i can, now i'm letting go and holding out my hand)

Casting Crowns----> Stained-Glass Masquerade
(Is there anyone that fails, is there anyone that falls, am I the only one in church today feeling so small?)

Casting Crowns----> Somewhere in the Middle

Hillsong----> All I Need is You

Hillsong----> Love LIke Fire

THese are some of my favourites, and i think they're some of the most moving songs ever sung.
