Education / Breaking: Ex-uniabuja SUG President Caught With A Lady (see Photos) by Mcpikin: 6:28pm On Aug 20, 2020
In what came as a surprise to many people, Comrade Sulaiman Rabiu ( immediate past SUG president of UofA) was spotted in one of the popular eatery within the Abuja major metropolis with his Girlfriend(or Fiancee) popularly known as Princess Sulaiman.

It can be recalled that these two love birds made news headlines on various new sites last year ending as the Kano born Comrade proposed to his Akwa ibom princess. Eye witness on that memorable day revealed that the "soon to become Queen Sulaiman" accepted the proposal without hesitation before the entire students who were around to celebrate the Former President and his fellow statisticians as they signed out from their prestigious department. In fact, the event spiced up the celebration at the faculty of sciences on that very day and as well opened the way for other courageous guys to seal the deal with their own lovers.
Many thought the relationship won't last due to the fact, they're from two different religion and tribe. Some predicted that the relationship won't cross the four walls of University of Abuja.

Today, they're been seen in several occasion holding hands and as well, visiting each other. What really caught the attention of many was not the fact they were spotted together, but Aluta Standard who's well known with his Kaftan outfit was seen rocking an English man dressing ( plain trouser and shirt). This made it the first in history. No wonder love they said, is strong and magnetic.

Hearing from the horses mouth, the relationship is stronger than never before and will soon get to its permanent site.

He who findeth love, findeth happiness. Let the will of God be done in their lives.
I wish them well......

Education / Uniabuja Ex-sug PRO Breaks Nigerian Record- First Student Leader With 1st Class by Mcpikin: 1:17pm On Feb 15, 2020
It seems to be a harvest of First class degrees and setting of records in the Nigerian higher institutions as another young Nigerian guy has made history in the North- Central part of part of the country (FCT).

Comr. Ozioma Collins Oguine the ex-SUG PRO of University of Abuja (Uniabuja) who convocated on the 15th of February, 2020 has bagged a first class degree in Computer Science making him the first Students Union Executive in Nigeria to achieve this feat.

The handsome guy who is well renowned and admired by many for his impacts in student's activism in the University and beyond has successfully joined the list of history-making individuals in Nigeria. He also emerged the best graduating Computer Science student and broke a 23 years record in his department alongside his sister.

According to several students, Comr. Ozioma Collins Oguine is a very hardworking student with great humility, personality and vision which altogether made him who he is today. Most students were left astonished as to how he was able to joggle students politics and academics together, others were filled with love and joy for the history breaking graduate.

In an interview with our History breaker her has this to say:

"I want to appreciate God for his faithfulness, guidance and protection all through. In truth, the journey was not an easy one. I had visions and ideas to positively transform and improve the welfare of students in my university and those visions drove me into students politics. I served at the departmental level before transcending into full student Unionism, NANS and thus my journey to becoming a comrade. I still remember situations where i had to skip classes to attend to issues regarding to the welfarism and well-being of students (my brothers and sisters) which i do not regret. And i recall how i had to do several TDB's to recover the lost class time, serious hunger strikes and most especially the Mosquito bites. I want to in all love and appreciation thank my wonderful parents and siblings for being my backbone and for always believing in me when i needed it the most. As future leaders of this country i am of the believe that if we need to bring about positive National changes and transformation, then we must start from the grassroots (our institutions) to build and prepare ourselves for the task at hand and the call to serve our fatherland. It is necessary for us all to imbibe the mindset of activism and selflessness to enable us rise to the occasion to make things right. Where i am today, i owe to the mercies of God".

He further advised that:

"Youth should be interested in our politics, so we can help put things right in this country. Many students say they want to graduate with good results hence they stay clear off politics as it is believed to be a distraction. But that's not true. i want all Nigerian scholars to know that fighting for justice and the rights of humanity does not stop your from being where you want to be, No; rather it encourages you and boost your potentials to be the best you can be. I am a living testimony. Let us all rise to the occasion, Nigeria's call obey. Long Live Uniabuja, Long Live Nigeria; VIVA A LUTA".

Comr. Ozioma Collins Oguine is one of the 26 graduands from various faculties in the university who bagged first class degrees at the 24th Convocation Ceremony, with 866 making second class upper; 2,317 with second class lower. In the third class degree category are 339 students and 52 Pass.

Education / NANS President 'bamidele' Declared 'persona Non Grate' By FCT Students by Mcpikin: 8:09pm On Sep 06, 2019
THE UNWARRANTED BARBARIC ATTACK ON THE SUG PRESIDENT OF UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA: A CALL FOR PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM BAMIDELE DANIELSON AKPAN WHO SANCTIONED THAT COWARDLY ACT OF SAVAGERY.

Being the Text of a Press Release by the Leadership of the University of Abuja Students and NANS FCT Chapter.

Gentlemen of the press, members and friends of the University Community, Greatest Nigerian Students!

Let us start by stating categorically that the cheap blackmail and mischievous claim by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) one Mr Bamidele Danielson Akpan that the Students' Union Government President of the University of Abuja, Comrade Suleiman Rabiu sabotaged the anti-xenophobia struggle by Nigerians is a pure base merchandise in vicious falsehood. Every fact about the University of Abuja Student activists' Community proves the contrary. Suffice it to say that Comrade Suleiman Rabiu (Aluta Standard) and indeed all the students of the University of Abuja stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Nigerians, including NANS in all anti-xenophobia efforts.

The only offences allegedly committed by our SUG President were:

1. His refusal to release the University of Abuja Students for picketing of South African businesses in the face of violent protests by Shi’ites then. It is a decision which we proudly endorse, and owes no apology to anybody for our refusal to willfully jeopardize the safety of our colleagues.

2. That he attended a meeting in which he was duly invited at the South African High Commission. The meeting was to explore other means and options in dealing with the relationship issues between young South Africans and Nigerians. In the invitation, the President was told that other student and youth leaders will be in attendance, and indeed, they were. In the video which has now been circulated, he never at any point lowered the flag on anti-xenophobic efforts of Nigerians. He did not even indirectly impersonate the NANS President, speak for NANS or countered whatever efforts NANS made or claims to be making.

3. That he did not seek the permission of NANS President before going to the meeting. And to that, we must tell the world that the Uniabuja is purely a Confederate of NANS. Our President is not an appointee or steward of the NANS President and does not require his permission to attend any meeting.

We wish to state it categorically that the Students' Union Government of University of Abuja is beyond the SUG President, and therefore an assault on the SUG President is an assault on the entire students in University of Abuja and perhaps F.C.T. at large.

We watched on national televisions and circulating videos with total dismay the vicious attack on our SUG President, and we hereby condemn the attack in its totality. This ignoble attack on our SUG President and his entourage by NANS President, and his crew of thugs on 4th of September, 2019 has further subjected NANS to such an ignominy that no decent education Community would be willing to associate with. University of Abuja is therefore reviewing its relationship with the Bamidele Akpan-led NANS.

By that display of savage hooliganism, the President of NANS has sadly displayed gross paucity of leadership dexterity and exhibited a monstrous tendency totally alien to any civil society. It is such a shame!

Consequently, we in the University of Abuja and NANS FCT Chapter unanimously and firmly demand for an unreserved public apology from the outgoing President of NANS, Mr Bamidele Danielson Akpan within the next 24 hours. The apology must be channeled through three (3) national dailies, Channels Television, Television Continental (TVC) and the official Facebook Page of the NANS President which are media that broadcast his criminal act of physical violence and attempt to commit murder.

And until this apology is tendered under the conditions listed above, Mr Bamidele Danielson Akpan, as President of NANS and even out of office is hereby declared a persona non grata to all the campuses and facilities of the University of Abuja and FCT at large. And by the gods of Aluta, so shall it be! In addition, we shall immediately, join forces with other progressives to force him out of office since his constitutional one-year tenure has elapsed since Mid-July.

Our reason for bothering about this is to urgently appeal to leaders, elders and stakeholders to ensure a national pre-convention and ultimately a convention to enthrone a student oriented leadership and as well hasten a possible return to cordiality between NANS and Uniabuja in case of a possible emergence of a civilised NANS President who is a true comrade.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen!

Signed!

Education / 'They Are After Their Pockets' - Uniabuja SUG Slams NANS Leadership (video) by Mcpikin: 1:23pm On Sep 05, 2019
In view of the recent killings of Nigerians in South Africa (Xenophobia), the South African Embassy invited notable stakeholders to proffer solutions to the crisis.

Amongst those notable stakeholders was the gallant Students Union Government President of University of Abuja (Comr. Sulaiman Rabiu).

In a PRESS release made by NANS titled: (XENOPHOBIC KILLINGS STRUGGLE, UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA PRESIDENT CAUGHT SABOTAGING) where the SUG President of the University was accused of being a saboteur has been replied by the University Union in a Press statement by the P.R.O (Comr. Ozioma Oguine) below:

The SUG PRESIDENT UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA was also invited by the South African Embassy along side other Student bodies including the Youth Movements (YM) ably led by Bello Shagari in order to regurgitate and provide drastic solutions towards the Killings of our brothers and sisters in South Africa.

It is a well known fact that the SUG President Uniabuja is a peaceful leader who like Nelson Mandela always prefer dialogue to violence in solving issues affecting the Students and Nigerian Youths at large. He has demonstrated true leadership beyond every fabric and strata proving to Nigeria that indeed true leadership exists.

We write without fear or favor to cantamot and greatly disagree with the NANS body over their accusations on our President.

Why would our President sabotage the So-called movement of the NANS President?

Last month, he was told to mobilize his students for a protest against the South Africans by the NANS BODY which he declined not because he doesn't want to or failed to show solidarity but due to ongoing SHITES Movement in Abuja at that time and he told NANS LEADERSHIP that he can't risk leading his students to a protest at that very bamboozled moment but proposed to the NANS leadership in question that a peaceful dialogue with the South African Embassy will go a long way in solving impeding crisis.

The SUG PRESIDENT University of Abuja who in the spirit of Unity, solidarity and love for his country men and women engaged the South African Embassy (Ambassador) in a heated dialogue to bring about a lasting solution to the problem have been putting in efforts to see this dream become a reality and the crisis resolved.

We would like to condemn the babaric act perpetuated by the NANS delegates at the embassy yesterday, emphasising that it is not just barbaric and premordial but a clear evidence that the NANS leadership allowed selfish interest and personal grudges to outshine and supercede their acclaimed main purpose alleging that "the SUG PRESIDENT was also there to get a part of what they are struggling for and surviving on which is cheap coins for their personal pockets".

The SUG PRESIDENT UNIVERSITY of Abuja is not violent and not hungry but a leader who gives priority to his students and the Nigerian youths but at home and in diaspora more than any other thing.

NANS leadership have shown to all Students and Nigerians that they are fighting for their personal interests and not for liberation and interest of the Students and youths of this country as most of them are graduates disguised as students.

The Students Union Government University of Abuja will also like to use this medium to call on all Nigerian Youths, all Nigerian Students to Speak against this ill - vice that is threatening our peaceful co-existence as Africans.

Education / 'they Are After Their Pockets' - Uniabuja SUG Slams NANS Leadership (vkideol by Mcpikin: 1:14pm On Sep 05, 2019

Politics / NIGERIAN YOUTHS: The Embodiment Of Our Democracy By Comr. Ozioma Oguine by Mcpikin: 12:02pm On Jun 12, 2019
Democracy day (June 12th) is a day celebrated annually by Nigerians to mark our transition into true freedom and better governance. This day is more significant to the youths of this great nation because it reminds us all of the price paid and struggles fought by our founding fathers to take us to the promise land.

On the 31st day of March, 2018, a Bill on "Not Too Young to Rule" was passed by President Muhammadu Buhari which was supposed to be a great turning point in our democracy as it was to prepare and motivate youths all over the country to step up and lead our nation to greatness.

Democracy is supposed to be a ticket to freedom and an avenue to return power to the people but in Nigeria recently, the case seems to be different; the politics of today have reduced it to sentimental warfare, political and selfish interests are the order of the day. This in the opinion of many is the reason for our backwardness and regression in measurement of development and capacity building at large. The tears, sweat and blood our founding fathers shed to bring us this far is no longer regarded. True patriotism gradually evaporates from the system as most of our present leaders have caused the devaluation of our National Anthem and Pledge.

MY ADVICE:
In light of this great day, i want to implore and appeal to the leaders of our great nation that it is never too late to retract our steps and set our nation on the right path. I want to also suggest that as we reminisce on our democratic struggles we should not forget the part youths played in ensuring its possibility. Youths in Nigeria should be given opportunities, freedom, avenues and platforms to be able to contribute our own quota to the society. The Youths of Nigeria are the true embodiment of our democracy and as such should be taken seriously, encouraged and guided so as to broaden our scope and dimensions on true governance and leadership hence, making us suitable, vibrant and astute leaders of tomorrow.

Today we celebrate because of the dream, steps and actions taken by our great father (Chief M.K.O ABIOLA) to bring Nigeria to light and save us from impeding draconian military rule. It is a sure sign that VICTORY COMETH THROUGH STRUGGLE.

A LUTA CONTINUA, VITORIA E CERTA!
A MALA A WETU!

I want to use this opportunity to wish Nigeria and indeed Nigerians a happy and insightful Democracy Day.

God bless Nigeria!!
God bless our fatherland!!
God bless Nigerian Youths!!
