Finesing:

I was very careful while filling this
I even had to write a personal letter to explain the money and urged them to not think otherwise.

He should have written and explained why he intends to spend such money
Yell them that he had planned for the holiday for a long time and had saved up for it and bla bla bla
They too like explanation but it works

Everything was explained to the T. How the money had been saved, breakdown of everything from flights, to accomodation, feeding, and why now is the time for travel as a reward for hardwork. Essentially a treat.

Hello All,

Has anyone had this issue before? A friend just got rejected because according to them the planned budget for a trip to the UK is 7.5 times more than the persons monthly expenditure - NOT INCOME OH!

I’ve never heard of this before. This person makes a very good salary of about 500k as take home. Monthly expenses is average of 200k, leaving a saving of 300k each money. Planned budget was 1.5m (ticket, hotel, feeding, accommodation and sightseeing were all broken down and estimated) for about 2 weeks.

That was the only reason. No mention of income being insufficient. Just that one reason that doesn’t make sense. This person has a managerial role in a well established financial institution.

The only thing I can assume is that the person has never travelled out of the country at all. Never even attempted, but no mention was made of that in the rejection.

Documents submitted:

Job intro letter
6 month statement
Cover letter
Letter from relatives acknowledging that person is known and will return.
Leave letter
Rent agreement

Anyone have experience with this?

wrongnumber:
Thanks to you all.

Standard visitors visa

Biometrics 14th June

Decision made and ready for collection 20th of September(After 64 working days)

Visa granted.

This was the same as my application, i received my visa on the 19th sept .I applied at VI, biometrics on the same day as yours. I did however have to call several times for escalation.

I last called on Sept 18th early morning and was told it had not been decided and it will be escalated. On the 19th Sept i received the email saying my application has been decided, a few hours later another email from tls saying passport is available. I was granted the visa.

I applied all the pointers I learned from this thread. Last time I used an agent who messed me up. This time I filled out the application myself.

Application details and documents:

employment letter
contracts with clients for my side businesses (I have 2)
very detailed cover letter explaining previous refusal, deposits, marital info, side job, travel itinerary and break down of cost for the trip
bank statements and fixed deposit certificate (my wife and i)
wifes passport data page (from a country that has uk visa waiver)
letters from siblings to show ties to nigeria
pics from my wedding
home property document
copies of household bills/receipt - water, internet, electricity

thanks to all the contributors.

Travel / Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by Melonne: 8:00pm On Jun 09, 2017
Hello VO,

I am a USC and recently filed the I-130 petition for my husband. We got married in late 2016 after having dated for 3 years. I was told that the current processing times for immigrant visa is 2 years.

I was wondering if we filed the K3 visa application if that could potentially speed up my husbands ability to enter the US? We are having a baby soon and while I understand he will miss the birth and first few months I would really want him to meet his child as soon as possible. If not for the baby coming soon I would not be so anxious.

I have been getting conflicting responses about the K3, some say its a waste of money and time as it takes just as long as the I-130, others say it shaves a few months off the wait times.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you
