Properties / Re: Architecture: Construction Of Duplex In Lekki & Akwa-Ibom State. by meoo: 8:06pm On Oct 11, 2015

Getting back to you as we progress

If possible can you shed more light on this project. I'm looking to build within the next year. I'm having difficulties with the contractors and developers I've come across. I'm tired of the uninspired and ugly homes all over Lagos. The modern look you did with this home is superb.

Is there a website or samples of similar projects you've done? I've seen the other projects you've done, but their not similar in design as this house. Also, how much would a project similar to this cost to complete?

Would you happen to have pictures of the finish home?
Agriculture / Re: I Need Your Opinion On My Packaged Garri & Rice(photos) by meoo: 4:16pm On Mar 25, 2015
I like the packaging, however if you are going to have the see through part on the front. I would add more see through part on one of the bottom corners. People like to see what they are buying. Also I would add some wording in small print on the front that says "Premium quality garri product"

Also I would try other fonts. I think the font that the words are in, are a bit loud.

But well done!!! I like it overall. May GOD bless your business.
Business / Starting a juice factory in Nigeria by meoo: 12:19am On Jul 04, 2011
I am considering starting a factory in Nigeria in the state of Lagos or Oyo.

Does anyone here know anything about the start up cost for a factory. I already have land in Ibadan. I want to start something like a fruit juice factory or something that people use on a daily that does not cost a lot to make.

Does anyone here own a factory or knows someone who does?

Im not in Nigeria rite now so I am limited to some resources.

I have a friend who lives in Nigeria who family owns a door factory and I know how wealthy they were and it took little for them to start the factory.
Food / Re: Starting Upscale Resturants In Nigeria - Hospitality Business by meoo: 4:42am On Mar 03, 2011
In lagos I would say start in Ikoyi, Victoria Island or Lekki, maybe even bannana island or lagos island. If I was you I would look into lekki. There is a lot being done there and there is the lekki master plan being built. It would be good to build your rep in an area that many have not done yet. I have worked in many before and I can tell you people just want good food at the end of the day. You have to have something people will want to come back for.

Also serving liquor and having a full bar is plus. that attracts a lot of people

In Nigeria people forget about kid menus. A kid will have you drive across town to get them food just so they will shut their mouth while eating the food they like.

Foreign Affairs / French Police Beat And Drag African Women And There Babies(video) by meoo: 3:56pm On Aug 01, 2010
This video is SHAMFUL!!!!!
SHAME ON THE FRENCH POLICE
SHAME ON THE FRENCH GOVERMENT!!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyowK_iRmJ4

Something needs to happen with this. I saw this video this morning and it made me sick to my stomach. How can the french police drag these women with babies on there back, yanking them by there hair. Why did the police have to take it that far. I dont know why they are protesting, but france is known to treat africans horrible!!!!. There is no answer for innocent babies to be hurt.

I would like to hear what people have to say about this video.

France had the city of paris burning a few years ago because of such acts after killing two young african males.

Family / Re: History Of A Name "omotoso" by meoo: 6:17pm On May 08, 2009
tpiah:

Omotoso is a very common name across Yorubaland.

Its found in different states and I doubt every family with that name is related, or from Ibadan.

I stand corrected if I'm wrong though.

meoo, you also have to ask the older people in your family for specifics. Are you from Ibadan?

yes my family comes from there
are you sure across the hole yorubaland, every time I tell my last name to someone they say "oh your from Oyo state"

topsy25:

Hmmnn!!!

Though i've heard this name several times and even know people with the name; I had never thought of its meaning.

Its difficult to understand but let's try break the name and see if we can get the meaning.

omo means child,

I think tosho are two words joined together. In yoruba language, there's something called: Ipaoroje i.e. you can join two words together by removing one or two letters and instead use: ' e.g. pami ki n ku becomes pami'nku undecided

Therefore, "tosho" could mean "tohun a nso"

"tohun a nso" means its good to watch over.

From the above therefore, omotosho will mean: A child is good enough to watch over undecided wink

Clap for me nau grin grin grin grin grin grin

As for the history, I no no oooooooooo

wow your good( clap clap)   wink

chaircover:

@ Topsy25 - sorry to burst your bubble. I think The accent is wrong on that meaning. I will clap sha, You tried grin

All I know is what has been said before thats its an Ibadan compound name with links to Inalende near Mokola in Ibadan and the family farm at Akinyele near Moniya.

@chaircover I am going to nigeria very soon for the 2nd time since I was very small.
trying to learn more about my history. with what you said what do you know about the  areas you brought up??

I hope she knows the person that was taping the video so that even if she does not know the name she has his face and can show who ever
Romance / Re: Must We Beat Our Women by meoo: 10:45pm On Oct 14, 2008
I agree with the most of you. Even tho she should not be screamin at him like a mad lady in the street(not only men should learn from this), it gives him no right to hit her

@manmustwac thats funny, and ok lol
Romance / Re: Must We Beat Our Women by meoo: 10:29pm On Oct 14, 2008
@ at sam milla if it is unusual that I made my first post after being on this site for two years is weird to you then that is ok,but it must be usual that some sort of beating is a usual thing in your household or it is ok to happen (CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG). You saying what I should do about the video is something out of my hands. the video has been done. But can we learn from this and recognize that there is is a problem in our country and we should not take up this animal behavior

@sisikill may godbless the women you marry
Romance / Re: Must We Beat Our Women by meoo: 6:49pm On Oct 14, 2008
THE VIDEO IS REAL BECASUE THINGS LIKE THIS AFFECT MANY PEOPLE LIFES AND SHOULD BE SPOKEN ABOUT. THERE ARE MANY HOMES AROUND THE WORLD WHERE BEATIN YOUR WIFE IS A TOPIC THAT MANY WONT SPEAK ON. I KNOW IT NEEDS BE SPOKEN OF BECAUSE I HATE TO SEE IT. DONT YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOUR CHILD SEES THEIR MOTHER BEING HIT THEY THINK IT IS OK. BOYS GROW UP TO BE MEN AND THINK IT IS OK TO BEAT THEIR WIFE. GIRLS GROW UP AND THINK IT IS OK TO BE HIT. IM SORRY BUT THIS IS NOT OK

i just want to know what people think of this video. i do not know much of what is going on and i did not tape it. i just want to know the feelings that people get from the video. myself i know that i hate what is going on and i want to jump in that video and beat that man. i want to know does beating of any sort take place and anyones home or does anyone think it is a must at times. this really does hurt my eyes to see this and to know that no one in the video took up for the girl or got mad at the guy. i hope she has a million brothers and sisters and who ever else to beat that man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
