Olympic gold medallist bobsledder Steven
Holcomb has died, aged 37.
It is believed Holcomb, who was found in his
room at the US Olympic Training Centre in
Lake Placid, New York on Saturday, died in his
sleep.
He competed in three Winter Olympics and
piloted the US four-man bobsled team to gold
at Vancouver 2010 - the country's first Olympic
title in the event in 62 years.




At Sochi 2014 he won bronze in both the two-
man and four-man bobsled.
"The entire Olympic family is shocked and
saddened by the incredibly tragic loss today of
Steven Holcomb," said US Olympic Committee
chief executive Scott Blackmun.

"Steve was a tremendous athlete and even
better person, and his perseverance and
achievements were an inspiration to us all."
Holcomb had been competing since 1998 and
won five world titles and was also a six-time
World Cup champion.

Heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has revealed the
Nigerian foods that gives him strength.
The UK-based boxer born to Nigerian parents said his
heart still belongs to Nigeria despite being rejected by the
country’s boxing officials many years ago.


Anthony, who knocked out Wladimir Klitschko, his
Ukrainian counterpart, in a heavyweight fight at Wembley
Saturday night, said he still enjoys Nigerian foods such as
pounded yam, eba and egusi, which he described as the
secret of his success.
Speaking on how he feels achieving such feat, the visibly
elated Joshua said, “Very humbled and not just for myself,
but for the people that have worked with me, so it is
important that I can only repay by achieving things in the
ring”.
“My heart is with Nigeria, my heart is with Britain, I’m a
Nigerian by blood, yes. Eating eba with egusi is the secret
of success”, he told Oma Akatugba of Sportsbrand.


On his connection with Nigeria, the heavyweight champion
said he would meet the governor of his state back in
Nigeria to help the people.
“I’m even trying out to get to meet the governor, and go
and get something back to Nigeria, even though we do
small things for the country between my family and my
mother.
“We help out the village she came from and If I could do
more on a large scale, I’ll definitely come down there and
associate myself more with Nigeria,” Anthony Joshua
added.

A Texas politician introduced a bill that would
see men who masturbated fined $100 (£82) for
committing “an act against an unborn child”.
Jessica Farrar created the “Men’s Right To
Know Act” to highlight how women are unfairly
targeted by regulations in reproductive health
care.
The legislation, which the Democrat introduced
last week, would ensure men were penalised for
ejaculating outside a vagina or a sanctioned
medical clinic.


Ms Farrar said the bill, which imposes a 24-
hour waiting period if a man wants a vasectomy
or access to Viagra, mirrors real laws and
restrictions faced by women in Texas .
Here is the bill in full:
SHORT TITLE. This chapter may be called the
Man’s Right to Know Act.

PURPOSE. The purpose of this chapter is to
express the state ’s interest in promoting men
’s health; ensure Texas men experience safe
and healthy elective vasectomies, Viagra
utilizations, colonoscopies procedures, and men
’s health experiences; ensure a doctor’s right to
invoke their personal, moralistic, or religious
beliefs in refusing to perform an elective
vasectomy or prescribe Viagra; and promote
fully-abstinent sexual relations or occasional
masturbatory emissions inside health care and
medical facilities, as a means of the healthiest
way to ensure men’s health.

INFORMATIONAL MATERIALS. The Department
of State Health Services shall create and
distribute informational materials containing
information reflecting the requirements and
legislative intent in this Chapter. The
Department shall entitle the information
materials "A Man’s Right to Know." The
Department shall establish rules and procedures
for the creation and distribution of the
informational materials that exactly follow the
rules and procedures of the informational
booklet entitled "A Woman’s Right To Know."


The booklet will contain scientific information
that must be verified and supported by research
that is recognized as medically accurate,
objective, and complete by the National
Institutes of Health and affiliated organizations.
The booklet must contain medical information
related to the benefits and concerns of a man
seeking a vasectomy, Viagra prescription, or a
colonoscopy. The booklet must contain artistic
illustrations of each procedure.


PROHIBITED CAUSES OF ACTION. A cause of
action may not arise, and damages may not be
awarded, on behalf of any person based on the
claim their doctor refused to perform a
vasectomy procedure, prescribe Viagra, perform
a colonoscopy, or withheld any other men’s
health procedure due to their personal,
moralistic, or religious beliefs. This section may
not be construed to eliminate any duty of a
physician or other health care practitioner under
any other applicable law.
