Celebrities / 6 Things To Know About Late Legendary Humour Merchant Gbenga Adeboye by Midumighty(m): 11:08pm On Jan 22, 2019 |
Sometimes, when an all important person dies in the society, a part of that person remains here never to be forgotten. For some people, it is their wealth that lingers on. For others, it is their works and achievement. For someone like Gbenga 'Funwotan' Adeboye, it was his laughter, his happiness, the very core of his profession, that he left behind. Needless to say, when Gbenga Adeboye was alive, his happiness was everyone's happiness. He made big problems into teeny-weeny jokes so that when these little jokes are laughed over, these challenges and mountain- like distresses disappear all together. After what looked like a brief, strange illness, the legendary comedian who had gained quite a ground in the entertainment industry died. Ever since, he has been greatly missed by many Nigerians home and abroad. In honour of his memory, here are five facts about him that are worth noting. 1. His birth and career Gbenga Adeboye was born on September 30, 1959, at Ode Omu, Gbongan, Osun state. Nigeria. Although very little is known about his childhood, it is known that the late Gbenga started working as a freelance radio presenter for Radio Lagos where he started a very popular programme which was solely meant for Yoruba audience. The name of the programme which started in 1981 was Funwontan. Later on, clips from the improvised and mostly impromptu shows were cut out and put in nine albums. Some of them include Orisunkunnu 1 and 2, Ph. D Beetle, Funwontan 1 & 2, Oro lati ori ite mimo 1 & 2, Versatility, Aiyetoro, Controversy, Supremacy and Ijinle. 2. Jack of all trades, master of all Gbenga Adeboye was, during his lifetime, a man of many talents. His craft covered nearly every aspect of the entertainment industry and he excelled in all of them. He was a comedian (he pioneered stand-up comedy) who could make people's eyes water with his jokes. He was a musician whose songs of 'unusual genres' contained in depth lyrics and melody that caused several people to genuflect. Even more, Gbenga was an activist, orator, prophet, mimic, humorist, entertainer and master of ceremony. It was quite impressive how he was able to use his talent so well within a short time. Better still, through his words, jokes and actions, Gbenga addressed societal and political ills within the society.continue reading https://www.legit.ng/1217106-in-memory-funwontan-6-facts-late-legendary-comedian-gbenga-adeboye.html |
Nairaland / General / 2019 Is Gonna Be A Big Year. Here’s Everything You Need To Know! by Midumighty(m): 10:22pm On Dec 02, 2018 |
The year 2019 will start
off with a bang when
Uranus, the planet of
rebellion, retrogrades into
Aries. This will bring
several major life changes,
especially in emotional
and health areas. Luckily,
Uranus doesn’t stay that
long before turning back
into Aries then taking up
residence in Taurus in
March.The new moon in early
January will bring a partial
solar eclipse into
Capricorn, making it an
ideal time to start or grow
your business. This is the
time to follow your
creative passions because
they will lead to bigger
and more exciting
opportunities. The full moon in January is
a total lunar eclipse in the
first degree of Leo. This
will bring unexpected
events that can cause
anxiety. Like the dramatic
Leo, life will feel more
hectic and fast-paced.
Thankfully, the end of
January will bring a period
of calm as all the planets
are direct. This will end in
early March when Mercury
goes into retrograde,
bringing mayhem to
Pisces.
Here’s everything else you
need to know:
Go out there and see the
world
In 2019, you may feel the
need to travel and
explore. This is thanks to
Jupiter, the planet of
expansion, luck, and
exploration will be
spending 2019
vacationing in Sagittarius,
the traveler of the Zodiac.
This combination wants to
broaden our horizons and
to open us up to new
ways of seeing the world.
The universe will be
pushing you abroad so if
you receive a sign that
you should get away
(unexpected money
coming in, study aboard
scholarship, etc) you
should take it.
A pretty chill year for love
If you’re looking for love
in 2019, don’t expect any
dramatic affairs. The lovely
planet Venus will transit
Scorpio at the start of the
year and will stay during
the duration of 2019.
Scorpio is pragmatic and
Venus will make you look
at any sentimental issues
with a critical eye. You will
able to find solutions to
your romantic problems
with little drama. Wise
Venus will give you the
knowledge and foresight
to avoid games, drama
and any complicated
situations.
Attitude is everything
Getting into summer, the
new moon in July,
entering Cancer, will be a
total solar eclipse. This
eclipse will bring a healthy
breath of optimism.
Positive influences from
Uranus and a star in
Gemini Constellation make
this an excellent eclipse
for enjoying the company
loved ones and making
memories. With hard work
and a positive attitude,
can turn dreams into
reality.
Flex those creative
muscles
Twenty nineteen is the
year to nurture your
creative talents. Jupiter
will square with Neptune
three times this year: first
in January, then again in
June, and one last time in
September. Jupiter
squared with Neptune is a
major planetary aspect
that hasn’t happened since
2006, and will not happen
again until 2025. During
these periods, you will feel
a lot of creative energy.
However, you need to
make an effort to develop
your gifts to reach its full
potential. This will require
hard work and discipline;
do not go looking for
shortcuts.
New energy, new
opportunities
Toward the end of the
year, the planets will bring
you the lucky breaks that
you’ve been needing. This
is the perfect time to try
new things and take risks.
The risks you take will pay
off with successes that
bring new and exciting
experiences. You will have
the freedom to push the
boundaries and explore
new territories.
Overall, 2019 will breathe
new energy into your life.
This year will bring to you
an exciting journey of
freedom, liberation, and a
time to take care of your
emotional and spiritual
well-being. Embrace the
creative vibration of the year and you will find an abundance of new
opportunities. |

We are in computer age, children of nowadays are wiser than what you think so don't say what did he know, the issue of kidnapping, rape, sex assault(i don't know why some people don't have shame having sex with underage).parent you have a role to eradicate all this. These are some certains thing you need to train your children and also things need to stop doing as a parent.1)never allow her to sit down on any man's lap. 2)don't dress naked infront of your children )don't let anybody call your children his wife or my husband 4)if your child said they want to play know the kind of play they want to play: 05)don't try to force your child to go for holiday or leave with someone 6)don't leave your children alone with boys in the house. 7). If your see your children running away from someone leave them don't ask him/her why is it like that train your child on sex education 9)make sure you watch film before letting them watch it and also know the kind of movie they watch 10)train her how to clean up her self when it is three years old for instance 'tamba' don't even allow his brother to do it for her is better you train her if you can't 11)make sure you know the kind of music he/she is listening to 12)let your children be brave to talk to people 13) if he/she complain about someone don't ignore his word,be suspiscious. |
