Got several mails asking me if the Redstark apple will survive n Nigeria and how should one go about planting it. l have been very busy but just made out some time to show the step by step procedure for planting, the seedling as it is would do well in Nigeria

@ pavore9 , the redstark apple seedlings you are talking about, is it just the seedlings that is grown from growing the apple seed to a certain height or are you talking about a grafted rootstock/ scion apple baby plant, tell me how possible it is to fruit under 9 months or less than a year after planting ?

gykes:

That's the part I'm really trying to understand. I see this very strange coinage on NL every now and then - "igbo Rivers", and I begin to wonder who are the igbos in Rivers State. Last time I checked, there are no igbos in Rivers State. I seriously need to know this strange people because Ikwerre, Etche and Umuma are clearly not igbos as they are stand-alone tribal/ethnic groups. Even Bony where they speak Igbani and simplified/pure igbo languages are ijaw.

Yes I know this because I am a Rivers man and a son of Ikwerre land. On that note, I really need some educating on this "Igbo Rivers" people in Rivers State.

Just a side note: I am not against Biafra and in fact, I am a strong supporter of the UN doctrine on Self Determination, but forcefully dragging a State and/or its people into the Biafran struggle is what I find hard to comprehend let alone assimilate. IMHO It is in every ramification, the same master-slave perception Biafrans as a people are fighting against - it is an obtrusive imposition that should be carefully and promptly checked.

@ gykes, ignorance is a disease, my dear u need to go back to school, I am a pure ikwere guy from isiokpo to be precise and I am igbo, we ikweres are igbos,

Let me first educate u about my town isiokpo, the name isi-okpo itself is 100% igbo, and inside my town we have ada-nta , nkara- ahia, ali - mmini, and azu - mmini, these are autonomous communities that makes up isiokpo town which is the capital of ikwere LGA ,, I know u will agree with me that both the name ikwere, isi-okpo , ada-nta and the rest are 100% igbo,

The language we ikweres speaks are even more igboid and can be understood by any igbo speaking person from delta state to ebonyi and the rest just to mention but a few , and our igbo is even clearer than that of people from Nsukka in enugu state or abakilike in ebonyi state yet they are igbo.

Mr gykes, don't we have 4 market days as in every other igbo communities ? Named as Eke , orie , afu, nkwo ? Ask anyother ikwere person he or she will tell u we do,

Stop deceiving urself my dear

@ spyder880, what about the choice on what to be build , is it open for any kind of building and any floor anybody likes or is there going to be restrictions on the house type and number of floor one can erect in a particular section of the estate.

I think this is very necessary for one to know before going in for the purchase, as some of us who would wants to build bungalow wouldn't like seeing multi floor houses suddenly springing out all around us,

Well,it will be easier for you to marry her if your people(family,relatives/umunna) doesnt have a strong thing for 'osu'. There was a case in my villa where the family and relatives of the man threatened him that if he dares marry the lady(oru) that they will forbid him from answering their name and even his own fathers name etc.
Hmmmm. If such be your case where your family is not in support, will you still go ahead despite your love for her?

my brother, it all boils down to how financially stable u are, if u are made and possibly the financial pillar of the family nobody would tell u that nonsense, you can always go ahead and marry her if they say no because after all they need u more than u need them.

let me also add here that osu is not only a man that marrys an osu lady but also if ur parents or ur grand parents happens to be adopted as in asked by another family to come and live with them u or ur parents are automatically osu as u or ur parents are not a free born of that particular family.

Fool. Ikwerres hv bin fooling the igbos sins 1914.

I wounder wat make u feel ikwerres need the igbos more dan the igbos need the ikwerres.

How many ikwerres do u see in igbo land? But der are alot of u selfish nd greedy parasite in ikwerre land.(port harcourt)

Is buhari ikwerre? So how come is ikwerre in need of the igbos.

You said nobody recognise Ikwerre as a tribe abi? It shows how stupid u are, ikwerre is regonised as an ethnic group by the federal republic of Nigeria, go google list of ethnic groups in Nigeria fool.

Even buhari in his rally at port harcourt weeks ago regonise ikwerre as an ethnic group of its own, while addressing tribalism.

Buhari said: My dear
friends, this is very important to note: It
doesn’t matter if you are Igbo, Yoruba,
Ijaw, Hausa, Idoma, Efik, Ikwerre, Urhobo,
Igala” “And, no, it does not matter if
you are Christian, Muslim, animist or
atheist: we need a new direction under a
new leadership.

Asumming buhari never mentioned ikwerre and mentioned igbo while in port harcourt it would hv bin a seperate case.

Igbos i wonder were ur so called wiseness is going to. dat is how u pple hv bin fooled over the years jst as Rotimi Amaechi has ones again fooled u guys by saying his igbo but has never attending Ohaneze ndi igbo organisation meeting, but has never missed the Ogbakor ikwerre organisation meeting.

At ur Age ur still a Fool.

you need education my broda, if what I wrote earlier didn't mean anything to you then u better to go back to school,

It doesn't matter whether u accepts it or not the truth is that we ikwerres are igbos,

you can not tell me that my name is Emeka and my surname is Azubuike and our village market is called Ahia Eke ( Eke market ) and we do have four market days Eke, Orie, Ahuo and Nkwo,

And my language is more understandable to any igbo speaking person than somebody from awka in anambra, anioma in delta state , nsukka in enugu state, arochukwu or abakeliki in ebonyi state yet they see themselves as igbos and you are saying I am not igbo.

If a respected son of Ikwerre soil by the name of chief Engr Isaac Nwonu who is the deputy secretary General of Ohaneze ndi igbo , together with respected men as Eze C.C Nwuche, senator Obi wali, prince Igo okparamma, senator Francis Ellah, chief Emmanuel Aguma and many others agreeing to be igbo and members of Ohaneze ndi igbo and Amaechi declaring to the whole world that he is igbo,

who are u to say we are not igbos, I guess you need more education or maybe you and ur family are among those having our cousins properties under the abandon properties saga even edwin clark said it we are igbos it is only your likes that preferred to live in ignorance

For the nay Sayers,a whole executive governor of Rivers state,an ikwerre man ,took a mic and told the public he is an IGBO MAN. Anyway my respect to the the vast majority of Ikwerre who know they are Igbo and keep to their Igboness by giving their children Igbo names, maintaining Igbo culture in marriage, ezeship, food, clothing, music, market days, language etc.Let the few insignificant remain in denial but one thing is,the Igbo are surging once again in all aspects of endeavour and not only that Nigeria is taking notes, the world is also observing. Peace.

you are very correct, I am ikwere guy, I was told we were not igbo until I grew up and travelled out of my town, visited other parts of igbo land and other parts of Nigeria, then I realised the falsehood, then I ask myself how can my town ISI OKPO which is 100% igbo word and is the headquarter of Ikwerre LGA,

That is less than 10 minutes drive from port harcourt airport and our villages ADA NTA, NKARA AHIA, ALI MINI, AZU MINI and others together with our market days EKE, ORIE, AHUO, NKWO , exactly the same as in other igbo towns

And our markets such as AHIA EKE, NKWO NTA all in my town and our surnames such as AZUBUIKE, AMAECHI, WIKE , WOBODO, and others and some people are still living in that falsehood that we are not igbos,

My ikwere language is even more clearer and far more understandable by any igbo speaking person than those of them from anioma in delta state or from nsukka or abakeliki in ebonyi state yet they see themselves as igbos,

The Biafran war has come and gone , the oil we thought we have is day by day becoming less precious, please , lets us educate ourselves please and stop the years long falsehood by our parents and grandparents because of their selfish interest.

Guy, your response above does not cut it at all. In your first reply to her post, you mention that you had a 48 years old uncle who you are willing to hook the OP's friend with if she is IBO. In today's Nigeria that we all are suffering from quota system/zoning wahala, if that does not strike you as being tribalistic (especially coming from a youth, which i believe you are) then something is fundamentally wrong. I strongly believe this forum will do better without people of your school of thought.
I dont expect nothing less than insults from you as a response; i just wish you goodluck with your search for an ibo wife for your 48 years old uncle. smiley

what exactly do you think u mean here ? what nigeria and zoning are u talking of , why must he marry a one rejected woman from a different tribe possibly an ofe mmanu left over who he can never have anything in common with just because he is in his 40's , while he could still get a young ibo lady of age below 20 or in her 20's even at the age of 70.

and for u the op, let her look for a man to gey her pregnant and live her life if she cant get any to marry her before she clocks 40 or enters menopause,
Family / Re: Marriage Dilemma by mikeokiro: 12:38pm On Dec 07, 2014
@Op how has it been since the exchange of views between u and nairalanders ? I have a few contribution to make here ,
firstly, u should try to have a good male friend not necessarily for relationship but as company, he should be a guy who knows u well and what you are going true or ur reasoning, the success of it all depends largely on how understanding , caring, sweet and loving he is.
You said you never had a long and enjoyable relationship with a guy that is because you meet people who dont really understand u and u not understanding them, you are not alone on this, many people are having the same problem as u so stop harbouring the idea that maybe u are not normal, my dear u are , you just need to be happy.
Secondly, I must tell u this not every body must have children and some people won't but I can understand that our society frawn at it but it all boils down on the kind of man u have and his own reasonings, so u just have to have patience till ur mr almighty comes around and turn ur world around into something amazing,
Good luck,

I have more suggestions but that would be in private, u can inbox me if u care to

You just dey talk ignorantly.
I don't know about your tribe. In igbo tribe,if you don't pay a woman's bride price, any child born of both of you belongs to the woman's family and will bear the girl's father's name.

So don't think I was agreeing with you when I said his village elders.

UK courts will be fairer to him than an unbiased gathering of igbo village elders.

NLG_woodey: Divorce her and move on!
R. Kelly' song..."when a woman is fed up; there is nothing you can do about it"

People will advise you to manage this, manage that. But all those men/women
killed by their respective spouses were told the same until the inevitable
happens. The trend shows that this woman may end up poisoning you if push comes
to shove.

Just divorce her a#s and get on with your life. Then figure out the best way to
take care of your kid.

As a swing trader, we call it STOP LOSS. It is not going to get any better. Don't be
like a typical Nigerian that keeps hoping/praying that things will get better. And
they never get better. Be a man and be decisive.

Oh...I forgot...datz all.

yes , is like u knew wat I wanted to say , I think the OP is just nothing but a very weak man, you can see the weakness all around him , I cant advise u to divorce your wife straight away, wat I would advise is dont call her again till u come back, try to be the man for once instead of behaving like a child, how could u be calling , calling and calling with her making u look more of a stupid man and I bet she could be laughing or making mockery of u while u keep stressing urself with calls and endangering ur work, I would advise u not to call her again until u come back , when u come show her that u are the man and send her out of ur house, show her that u are tired of the marriage aswell , after doing this , dont call her or allow her back to ur house no matter wat she or her family plead u, this time forget about luv ooo and do things right like a man, she would come back to her senses and give u ur due respct. if not move on with ur life and get urself new wife,

women don't like weak men though they prefer weak men who could be washing their ondez at will but believe me once u show her u are very much prepared to throw her out of ur way she would change
