Even though I don't like pdp as a party but with this move, I think they will surely make an inroad in next year guber election in lagos, if they will win is what I can't say, apc and sanwo olu has nothing to show for almost four years, the rainy season has really exposed their lies, all we have are all bad roads all over lagos. Shame on them, funke should not be afraid to talk, most lagosians know apc has been terrible but they need a voice from someone influential and popular and they have found one in Funke, because she has a verified background

I am so happy that Tinubu dissapointed those selfish and dubious good for nothing northern governors, that sold out with the hope of one of them getting the Vp's spot with Tinubu, how on earth will you expect Tinubu to drop someone so loyal to his cause like Shetima for an unstable El rufai or Bagudu? Anyway everybody will be alright with the Muslim Muslim ticket, if the election is done in naija ways of doing things, Tinubu is the next president because he has an estate that vomits money for him which is lagos state, while Atiku cant boast of that luxury, and Obi is not popular in the core North, though he will have the sympathy of some Christian northerners.
The hunger in the country will likely make Tinubu wins because he can afford to give each voter 10k naira before he closes his eyes, but this can change if the nigeria electorates say no to that and also if Buhari stays neutral, which I will not be surprise if he does, because this is a person that dissapointed his Inlaw, his nephew and also all his close aides that went for elections, so Tinubu will likely not be an exemption.

My brother don't compare Jonathan with Tinubu, it's a different situation, for example I can't expect Tinubu's money to do any miracle in the south east, because that is Obi's stronghold likewise Atiku's billions can't have any effect in the south west which is Tinubu's stronghold, but you see those swing states, you can never predict what will happen there and that will be the target of someone like Tinubu, I am not saying he is going to have it easy Infact it might not work out, that is why I said if the elections goes the way of old ways of doing things that is when all these permutations can come to past.

I never wanted to comment on this buh I have to because an ignorant silly UK citizen is here to deceive some ignorant Nigeria citizens..
Bro,many of your people will rather die than to accept any truth especially when it concerns their demi god Tinubu, some have even called you an Igbo man and all sorts of name, defending someone that knows nothing about their deplorable existence on Earth....
This particular guy you're quoting needs his British passport revoked if at all he's a British citizen in the first place because for someone that have seen the other side of life and still have this kind of archaic and backward mindset, still harbours this kind of hate and bitterness, shows that his mentally deranged colleagues (Nigerian branch)gullible dimwits are irredeemable.
Somebody that's very sick, fragile and highly corrupt ,you see some myopic people still supporting him,one was even talking about how he ran a race in Mecca, explaining the meters and miles he accomplished,(God forbid some people on this Earth and these are the kind of people I shared the same country with...damn!!)..
I was wishing(with many sensible and reasonable Nigerians)for Yemi Osibanjo from APC and Peter Obi from PDP and everybody will relax because anyone that wins, will definitely change Nigeria positively,a positive stands of many well meaning Nigerians until they do that their abracadabra in their respective primaries...
You're a Yoruba guy, you've chosen Osibanjo buh see how they were attacking you just because you refused to be blinded by hate, tribe and religion.
Their primitive thinking is that as a Yoruba person, you must be a slave to their thin god Tinubu.
The dude left the argument and started abusing the Igbos on the topic that doesn't concerns Igbos and he claimed to be a British citizen(very disgusting honestly)..
Finally,95% of reasons they're cursing and abusing people for Tinubu's sake is because of tribal and religious sentimental..
If they have some companies and needed a manager, can they sincerely pick Tinubu to manage their companies among other candidates and if Nigeria should separate now,can they sincerely allow Tinubu to be the president of Oduduwa...( The answers are NO and they knows that too)...
Osibanjo should've been a better option buh they wouldn't accept that and even a so called British citizen is still stuck with a Stockholm syndrome disease....
I rest my case...Gracias!!!!

May God bless you my brother, whenever I see comments like this, I am always relieved because it shows all hope is not lost, we will get there someday, even though I don't have any candidate but I can't believe the momentum and the support Obi is getting even among reasonable South westerners I mean the yorubas, APC really messed up.

Una go come person thread and come dey cause the person, no be stupidity and foolishness be that. I am a big follower of this OP, and all what he has always do is to stay in his commitment to anything he believes in, so what's wrong if he supported Osinbajo and bragged over it, I did not even know he is a dual national, until recently, he never boasted about it, this shows is commitment to Nigeria, this thread topic I guess he made it for a purpose. As for me, Osinbajo is my first candidate but since he lost, I will go for Tinubu, but that doesn't make me not to respect other people's opinion.

Thank you so much, I do appreciate, I know its not going to be easy to enlighten most of them, because the havoks done to their thinking and life are enormous and it will take time and persistency.i am not a proud person, if I should count my personal blessings and also think like an average Nigerian, I will not even be coming to this forum to argue with anybody despite the fact that some trow insults at me even without any provocation from my own side, by the grace of God i am comfortable enough to mind my own business but I can't resist the urge to help my people, the sufferness in naija is too much, what is the joy in you when you are doing good but the people around you are suffering, it is not only poverty again, terrorism, kidnapping, ritualism and every other forms of evils are been perpetrated in the country now some will say is Osinbajo not part of the government, but my answer has always been, when Osinbajo was fully in charge for 3months didn't we all see the differences he made. My brother you have the right to support anyone you deem fit is the best for you, I have said it several times that I will not campaign against Tinubu, but the way those guys are not minding their businesses will make me have a change of decision, anyway the only problem is the process of the primary, if the primary had been free without the inducement of money, I would have accepted it as a democrat that I am, even though I don't believe in Tinubu but I will have no reason to complain and will also see it as what the party wants, I have seen alot of things in life and I have travelled alot to know that anything built on false narratives will not always end well, a politician that bribes his way to any seat is surely going to dissapoint when he gets there, my respect for Osinbajo doubled when I realised in the last minute that the agreement has been broken and he continued to insist that no one should induce the delegates on his behalf, tell me why wouldn't I like this person. We still have along way to go before the election so many things willl still come up, but I will try to reduce my comments here, I wil only write when it is necessary like I used to do before the Osinbajo's aspiration. Thank you so much once again

humberjade:
Permutations everywhere grin

Make I rest my case face my life until

1. Tinubu finally chooses his running mate, a dilemma people have allows pointed out even before he won the primaries- where would he find a suitable and acceptable running mate?

2. Obi and Kwankwaso wakes up to the fact that they don't even have a chance without merging... the problem with this is that, on the one hand, Kwankwaso won't want to lose the name of his party and identity, neither would he want to play 2nd fiddle, while on the other hand, Obi won't want to disappoint his growing followers and play a 2nd fiddle to Kwankwaso. I mean, who drops the chance of being VP to an Atiku, to become running mate to Kwankwaso?

Big dilemma, but the fact still remains that, the two lack structures to make a national impact, politics is local, and for the likes of Obi to make an impact solo, he will need the enlightened youths online to match their support with action by going head to head against the their counterparts on the street (louts, artisans, market women, etc...who actually are historically the real election day voters)

3. But the game changer is if Kwankwaso steps down for Atiku...then it is game over for other candidates.
But the problem with this is that, the Presidential elections come before others, if Kwankwaso chooses to step down and support Atiku, it would have ripple effects on his political followers during the National Assembly elections which happens simultaneously with the Presidential elections, and the effect would again spread to the Governorship elections later on. A vivid example is the AD/OBJ alliance in 2003.

Like I always say, I don't believe Nigerians have suffered enough, when they do, they will do the right thing...it is just unfortunate that few selfish and corrupt delegates are usually saddled with the responsibility to choose for millions those to choose from, now we are left with no choice that we have to put up with these 4 candidates. By a mile, these aren't our best brains, all corrupt with skeleton in their cupboards (albeit there is levels to their corruption).

Well, 24 hours is a long time in politics, how much more about 8 months. Time will tell.

May God bless you for this writeup. Only the uncorrupt minds will understand the mess nigeria is into now.

Hmm! Nigeria will get there someday,if not for the corrupt induced delegates system that pruduced the candidacy of Atiku and Tinubu in both pdp and apc, it would have been Osinbajo vs Obi, in the real sense of it. These evil people prevented Osinbajo that is very popular with the masses to present himself to be voted for, and he does not have the luxury of Obi to decamp to another party or stand as an independent candidate because he is the vice president, but one thing is sure, his movement will continue to move until the country is liberated. Moreover, some of the people castigating him just for this temporary setback, I can assure them their candidate will not have the opportunity to live in the aguda house talkless of aso rock because they will now need to face the real voters, they can only bribe few voters the majority will reject them. Who laugh last always have the best laugh.

The question should rather be, are Nigerians ready? You raised very good points but what do you want a helpless population to do, since their leaders use weapon of poverty to cage them into submission, when you are hungry you can't think uprightly that goes to many of them here also on this forum,, the politicians are giving them peanut to sell their future to the highest bidder. The solution is for the youth and wiling people to take back the country with their zeal but unfortunately this might come with a price, and are Nigerians ready for that? Many counties fought for the freedom and true democracies they enjoy today, is nigeria ready for this? Anyway time will tell because I am sure it will get to a stage when the masses will have no other choice.

Don't mind him. What will he do if he finds out Macron, for the 2023 Presidency, is supporting the man who has proven to be the most effective and progressive political leader in Nigeria for the past two decades ? I.eTinubu?

Perhaps he will also start insulting the President of France, his second nation, as he is doing Nigerians exercising their democratic and constitutional mandate by supporting Tinubu.

All these clowns who have been in the west for ten minutes, to then be behaving as if they are better than all else, makes me laugh.

The truth is that those who have gone through the west, and the west has gone through them, tend to be democratic, pragmatic and able to think critically by shunning biases, prejudices, sentiments and emotions.

They make decisions based on tangibles and what has been delivered or proven exhaustively.

Why, for example, will USA political leaders not support Tinubu when they see someone who fought a brutal dictator for Nigeria's democracy, reformed Lagos innovatively, deposed and replaced a ruling Party plus created Eko Atlantic, the most iconically stunning address in Africa, that the USA shows immense belief in by choosing to build their biggest embassy in the world there?

Any Westerner, knowledgeable of the reality of Nigeria, will view Tinubu as a proven development partner.

They don't have the simpleton inclination to be talking about bullion vans and making "Tinubu" or "Iragbiji governor" asinine comments when they consider what/who is best for the socio-economic development of Nigeria dispassionately.

Osinbajo would never be their choice because he is unproven and therefore not a pragmatically wise choice.

The OP is simply a pompous charlatan and undemocratic sore loser even if he cannot see that about himself.

So you think Macron is greedy and stupid to support someone that used money to buy delegates and sit on the destiny of over 20milion lagosians just because he claimed to win a primary election? For your own information, no one in that contest can beat Osinbajo in a normal contest especially if it involves the masses, we will be alive to witness the general election by God's grace, I am happy I have no commitment towards any candidate, so it's gonna be fun seeing you people throwing banters at each other.

Hope your next prayer point is not for Buhari to die, so you dearest Osinbajo can occupy the seat, because that won't happen.
For your information, Tinubu is far more better and capable than your osinbajo. Be eloquent does not translate to be an effective leader.
My friend come down from your high horse you are not better than anyone simple because you have France citizenship. I imagine how you will behave if you have UK, US or Canada citizenship.

So in your skull those countries passport you mentioned, worth more than the French passport? It really shows the calibre of people that I talk to here unfortunately, because in your head only english speaking countries are the best, anyway limit your discussion only to naija issues, stop jumping into international affairs you know nothing about.

Guy, stop all this you dual citizen BS. You're embarrassing yourself. To even put it in your thread title, as if a badge of honour, indicates you think it is something impressive or that gives you some authority over others.

Abeg, before you do this again, try and spare a thought for those born in the West who have gone through most of their schooling and life there yet still support Tinubu.

That may allow you understand that the support for the man, which you don't have the democratic decency to accept, is just not the preserve of 'lowly' and 'unexposed' Nigerians who have never seen France and can never know as much as you do. "Mr.Dual citizen".

If I show you the caliber of folks in the UK diaspora Asiwaju support group, most with "dual citizenship" by birth or naturalisation, you'll realize you're even worse than a butterfly thinking itself a bird.

All this could have been avoided if you have any democratic essence in you, something France should have taught you, to just accept Tinubu is the choice of his fellow voting stakeholders and not your Osinbajo.

I did not see your bragging about Osinbajo prior to the APC Primaries, some posters hinted at, but your behaviour here makes it obvious you're a pompous, intolerant, undemocratic, opinionated and ignorant nobody who fancies himself the dogs bollocks.

An empty, brattish and childish blowhard who cannot take loss like a man.

I never regretted bragging and boasting over osinbajo because I believe in him, as for those people you mentioned that are in UK, who cares! If they like they should support shekau it's not my problem and for you saying I am embarrassing myself over dual citizenship, that is your cup of tea, I never made mentioned of it ever since I registered on nairaland unless if occasion demanded for it, of course dual citizenship is nothing, you can even say its like colonial mentality, I agreed but the events in recent time in naija has made me to appreciate it and I will flaunt it, are you not ashamed that votes were bought again today in ekiti state? Shame! On any person that sees this as normal.

I remember vividly, the way you were so confident osinbajo is the anointed candidate to clinch the ticket. Now that he lost out because Buhari refused to interfere in the presidential primary, you now hinged his loss on delegate inducement. This is a man (Osinbajo) who is not grounded politically to win even a senatorial primary. If he is wanted by the party how come Ameachi a minister pools more votes than him.

You can give your commitment to France, we that believe in Nigeria see the coming glorious years of the country. Mind you nothing proof that osinbajo has the answer to the myriad of problems confronting Nigeria.

Even if Osinbajo doesn't have the solutions to the problems in naija, is it Tinubu that has it? Enjoy your temporary delegates induced victory for now, I can bet you it is temporary. I never denied I wasn't confident of osinbajo winning but I have also admitted that something went wrong in the last minute, but to God be the glory, it will end in praise, most of you will understand later and will also realise you are into one chance.

Women are becoming prostitutes and men are becoming yahoo boys and ritualists , and you think you live in a sane society, you cherish money more than integrity forgetting that money can never bring fulfillment, they are so many poor countries in africa but their citizens don't behave barbaric as many Nigerians do, you will see many of them coming here to Europe and other places but still behave badly like they use to do in nigeria, but when I look at their comments here on nairaland I now understand their mentality and where they are coming from.

Osinbajo contested and lost. What the party owe him and every other aspirants was a free, fair and credible primary election. He got a level playing field and party members rejected him. That’s democracy in action. Osinbajo and his supporters like you should lick their wounds quietly and stop attempting to discredit the democratic process that threw up the party’s candidate.

It’s even sad reading the kind of silly excuses some of you are giving. How can you be advocating for a draconian imposition of candidate on the party in a race that had 26 aspirants? Is that how presidential candidates of major political parties emerge in France and the other developed countries? Is the so called presidency you were hoping to hand over that ticket to your candidate the owner of the party or party members?

Enough of this nonsense please. Osinbajo is no messiah. He’s part and parcel of this regime that has failed to perform up to expectations. He has nothing new to offer. He should be grateful to God, Tinubu and Buhari in that order for giving him an unknown person like him the chance to serve as Vice President for 8 years. He has done his bit and it’s time to go home and stop sulking.

Who is this one? Ordinarily I will not have replied someone like you, it sounds in your statement when you mentioned my other nationality that you are nobody, did I tell you I have America and other nationalities? I am only a Franco Nigerian, which I m proud of, and you can only have it if you have lived a very good and responsible life. Osinbajo never lost a free and fair election, the charade they call election can be free and fair in the eyes of people like you, that look up to how to survive, because if you have the chance like the other hungry delegates that voted, you would have done the same.

It was officially the capital of NIGERIA at same time. That’s what you see everywhere on google

Don't let Google deceive you my brother, calabar was the capital city of Southern province, never the capital city of Nigeria.
Morreover what's the argument about it? That she didn't measure up to lagos? You must be kidding me, I told you lagos ports import over80% of goods and services coming into the country, you are still arguing and you expect it not to have the biggest gdp and igr, you never countered the points I raised about, what is lagos using the huge igr for? A state that cannot fix ordinary road networks with her huge igr, not to talk of other basic infrastructural developments, we don't need all these arguments, time will tell when the hour clocks. Thanks
