Thank you peeps4u. This is a good insight.

peeps4u:

First thing, there is nothing like paying the driver a percentage of whatever he earns, you agree with the driver on the fixed amount he pays weekly, usually 20-25k for now.
As for a better place between Abj and Lag, lagos is a big market but your car will suffer abuse due to bad roads while your car will not suffer same abuse in Abuja but it is quite a smaller market compared to lagos.

My advice: Covid is affecting ehailing biz just as other biz presently. The curfew and lack of social and religuous activities on weekends still affect the biz. I will advise you hold on a lil and till everything comes back to normal, which is expected to happen soon. Always keep yourself abreast of developments in ehailing biz on this thread as lockdown is being relaxed.

Putting your cars on ehailing this period will see your cars suffer just for a lil earning.

You may also consider Inter-state transport, there is one bigleaf or so who specializes in that. You may talk to him extensively and make your decison between ehailing and interstate.

Hi everyone, please we need your help. My friend and I are about to go into Uber/Bolt business in Abuja or Lagos and we need you to help us with your wisdom that you have gotten from experience.

Our goal is to have a car which belongs to us and pay the driver a percentage of what he makes in total every month. This means that the car won’t be on higher purchase but rather remain our property and the driver will be on contract with us.

I have the following questions.

* We are thinking of starting with Toyota Corolla.
Is this a good car to start with?

* I heard that US used Toyota Corolla costs about 1.5m, do you have information on the possible cost?

* How much do you (or your drivers) make per week in Lagos?

* How much do you (or your drivers) make per week in Abuja?

* Based on logistics, which city would you recommend that new comers start driving? Lagos or Abuja? Why?

* What expenses or costs could cause us huge losses if not properly managed? How can we properly manage it?

* What advice will you give a beginner?

Thank you for taking time out to help us. We appreciate that!

Most of the fulani in these areas were born here. They have leaders and if they destroy your crops you will be compensated.
I have a farm in the area and fulani don’t disturb me; I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but usually most of these occurrences are misunderstandings.

Your number is not available and I am interested.

Big difference. Overt racism is : ^we only hire white people" or "we don't serve blacks here" or "we don't admit blacks to this school or hospital etc" Huge difference.

No difference from what you wrote. It hurts as much either way. And practically no country allows overt racism anymore. But subtle racism is still carried out!

Well, no pain no gain. Seriously, if you really need something you will do everything within your power to achieve it. Learning a new language might not be easy but a lot of people have done it and are still doing it. So, no excuses

At least they have laws that prevent u from being overtly racist. In Naija u can be happily overtly tribalist - eg u may decide to hire only people from your tribe.

cheesy what is the difference between subtle racism and overt racism? Does anyone of them make you feel better?

Countries that have been on my radar for a while have been Canada, USA and Australia....maybe because of the language similarities and the fact that I have visited all three and love them.

Why don’t you consider Germany, Finland, Sweden, Austria and other Scandinavian states? Some of them... scratch that...all of hem have better opportunities for you without breaking the bank. You might just have to learn the language but apart from that, they are very good!

Luciferan369:

Get an RF scanner, not barcode scanner. RF scanner please.

Separate the Broilers from the Layers. Let the Layers be groomed in special compartments.

Make sure only a trusted relative or staff have access to the layers unit in the morning, then use the RF scanners to code the eggs and install scan trackers at gate of the poultry.

When someone takes any egg, the scanner will set off an alarm and the thieves will be caught red-handed. Also add CCTV and keep an eye on each of them layers unit.

Now, what you do with the thieves, caught red handed will determine how the others will react.

When you catch the thief, put that thief through initial jungle justice of slaps and kick-boxing before handing over to the police. And at the Police Station, push the case to the court, customary court system is great as they will stay on awaiting trial for months, and follow the case through until the person faces institutional justice. I do not care if it is one egg.

This is how to hold down the thieves. And again, do not take this lightly, install scanners and teach these people a lesson.

I have hired over 10 cleaners this year, and I have lost valuables and cash up to 1m this year alone. Today, I am calling for 2 staff to be supplied and no one knows why people steal this much in the country even when they cry of joblessness and when you hire these fucckers, all they do is steal.

Stay tough and tell your aunt that the times have changed and you need to use technologies to catch these sophisticated thieves.

I have a question. CCTV Needs electricity to operate. With power in Nigeria, that is not feasible without Generator. This leads to fuel expense, or another problem if fuel is scarce. How do you manage these costs for the farm?

Who said women don't cook in Europe and America?

I said cooking isn't the duty of the woman alone in those continents.. almost 65% of American men share bills with their wives and they also share house chores which includes cooking, even though women take greater part of the house chores. (at least they're sharing it)

Try and get a visa.. even if it's a tourism visa

Travel to USA or Europe.. come back and prove me wrong because you're still living in self delusion.

Ahaha, you are really taking this thread and discussion personal. I won't, you can continue to.

However, I will correct your misconceptions. Have you ever traveled out? If you say you have, you will realize that many of these Europeans are polite, of which you are not. So I doubt you have ever or if you did, you only focused on Gender equality when you did.

Now back to the discussion, we said the same thing. They share but the women still does most of the cooking here. I believe a man should support his wife in every way possible. However, everyone should have his/her main responsibility. For some families, the man is a house husband (there is paternity leave for men in some parts of Europe). Every family functions differently and we all need to understand that. Now go and read my previous post.

If your next response is impolite, I won't reply you and I will wonder if you won't also cause unnecessary issues if elected into political office. (Note: that is if your next response is impolite)

Young man, you've never left the shores of Africa . don't think me for a small boy.

Travel to Europe and America ,you'll see men cooking, cleaning the home and doing laundry on daily basis even when their wives are doing nothing.
This is a civilized world.

This is not totally true. In fact a lot of women cook in Europe and take care of the home. However, there is a lot more balance because European men support more than African men (I have no figures for this but from what I can see). Women cooking and taking care of the home is not a Nigerian thing, neither is it an African thing. It is a natural task that women gravitate towards, the same way men gravitate towards providing and protecting their family. So as I said, that is statement up there is not totally true. However, the fact that duties in a family are shared does not mean the husband and wife should not support one another as appropriate.

Hello, you may have a good story but how you write or present it matters a lot. From your short stories, I noticed the following:

1. The writing has a lot of grammatical errors
2. It is not properly punctuated and indented. (You are writing a story for others to read not chatting sad)
3. The way you construct your sentences needs improvement.

I am sure if you can work on these, more people will be interested in reading and commenting. smiley

Family / Re: Can One Slap His Wife In This Case? by mikolam(m): 11:56am On May 08, 2015
This is a serious issue. I doubt the man slapping the wife will solve the issue totally. After the initial resistance he had has been broken, he will find it easier to slap her another time and then it will graduate to full beating. That home is in DANGER. He should have reported the lady initially to someone she respects or even the whole family. No need for him to cover up the issue.

All they need now is prayer and counseling sincerely

Aro Computer Ce: I was in the hostel during my university days(1989 - 2005). First I was very fortunate in 100L to 300L because as a junior I had no control over the activities of our room (3 students in a room). God so arranged it that from the beginning of each semester, all my room mates will verbally agree to what is known as codes of conduct. This was fairly observed. Whenever any member tries to deviate, he will be cautioned. This culture continued each session even though room mates changed. W In my 400L - 500L, when my voice was now strong as a senior, I just continued the good culture I had inherited from my christian predecessors. But the bathroom and toilets were eye - sore. Most at times we wait till the cleaners finish washing the toilets in the morning, then we rush in to defecate.

Sent you the template for this year. I actually don't know if they changed it template because I didn't apply for the first edition.

@neksummi, God bless you.
Yes that of last year wasn't this elaborate and it didn't contain breakeven point and those other stuffs

I've sent you another mail but want others to benefit from the enquiry.

I need an advice with requesting for the youwin grant. If for example I am requesting for a total of 5 million naira in a manufacturing business and before production can start, I would need to spend about 3 million on capital expenditure(machines, factory space e.t.c). Ain't I supposed to request for at least 3 million in month 1?

But Youwin says they will give only 10% of total money requested to start with which is only 500,000 naira. Even if I can raise some more money, I might not be able to start production still because one of the machines cost over a million.

thanks as I anticipate your response.
