Thank you both so much.

Please if anyone here has any reservations or bad experience from CIMA and express entry, please don't keep quiet.

Please did you get a response to this?

I would want to be sure WES will evaluate it as a 1year diploma even after they have evaluated my BSc with them, because I am just about considering this CIMA or BCIT.

Thank you,

1. Yes.
2. No. I took one paper at a time.
3. You get additional points with two or more certificates than B.sc. with the additional certificate, my Crs score increased by 33 points.
4. Your course of study doesn't matter. If only you will be able to study and comprehend the syllabus, you can sit for the exams.

Thanks for the response. Much appreciated

Yes I did. Duration depends on you and your ability to pass the 4 papers on time. The exam is scheduled on demand. These steps could guide you;

The exam is a 4 paper exam, Materials available on astranti.com. Exams are CBT; visit cimaglobal.com to register. Registration is 77GBP while each paper is 55GBP

Recommended procedure:
1. Register with cima on https://www.cimaglobal.com/Starting-CIMA/Starting-CIMA/Registration/ fee is 77£. Please pay online, if you pay to the Nigerian office, your registration will take weeks.

2. Send your credentials to CIMA. you'll get the email to send it after registration

3. Study for your exams with Astranti.com and Opentuition.com

4. Exam registration is 55£ per paper.. Exam is electronic, you choose a convenient time, date and center ( any pearsonVUE center).,The various centres and their addresses will appear during registration, so you can choose a center near you. DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY TO THE TEST CENTER.. You're to book for your exam atleast two days to the exam day.

5. You will get a provisional result after each exam, then details will be uploaded to your account after like 2 days.. pass mark is 100/150. There are 60 questions for 2hrs for BA1-3.. then 85 questions for BA4, 2 hrs

6. You're to write BA1 to BA4 in order to get the certificate in Business accounting which you'll evaluate with wes.

7. On how long it will take, depends on you.. you can check the syllabus and study materials to know how long it can take you to cover it.. However, it took me about 6 - 7 weeks

8. When you're done with your 4 exams, you'll wait for like two days for it to be updated...Then you can register with WES

9. Once you have gotten your WES reference No, send an email to cima to prepare your transcripts and letter of good standing.. Also tell them you want to arrange for a courier service.. This is to expedite the process because cima uses regular post which takes weeks to get to Canada.. Follow up with a call to CIMA.. I requested for mine and it was ready for pick up the following day.. Remember to put your WES reference no while booking the courier.. I paid about 65£ for the courier and it got to WES in 3days...

For more info.. visit https://www.cimaglobal.com

Hi,

Please, could you assist with these few questions?

Did it take you 7weeks to cover the syllabus i.e. You mean the BA1 to BA4 to write the exam?

Did you also write all the 4 papers in one sitting?

How many points will CIMA Cert in BA give towards the CRS?

I am an Engineering graduate, so can I do the CIMA also?

Will appreciate any information you can provide.

Thank you,

cc @Danianne

Great response @Alphadoor
@Mo234, When drafting the statutory declaration, ensure your job description is fully aligned with the occupation Anszco description as set out by ACS in order not to loose points.

Thank you @TRed, I will ensure I do that sir.

Alphadoor:

1. A sample reference letter is available on ACS website, I would have shared mine but its old and outdated as it does not meet the ACS latest requirement
2a. Elect Elect is most likely to be accessed as ICT Major, however going for ICT bus analyst can result in a 4yrs exp deduction.
2b. Reference letter cannot be delayed. If you are not comfortable with getting reference letter from your HR at the moment, you can choose statutory declaration (SD) option which is a reference letter written by your colleague, direct reports or supervisor on a non letter headed paper and you have to providing supporting documents like payslip and employment letter...... attached here is also an old sample... please check ACS website for latest guidelines and requirements regarding this. the SD must be notarized at the federal high court or by a notary officer in your vicinity.
3. To whom it may concern is good enough...

All in all, ICT bus analyst is a very competitive NOC, hope you are able to gather 70 points without state nominations
Read through the latest guidelines on ACS website

Thank you soo very much! you all have helped allayed most of my fears.

I have also read through the latest guidelines on ACS website as you suggested.

I noticed ICT Bus Analyst is competitive like you mentioned, however, that is the closest to all my years of work experience ( I am actually an IT Auditor or IT Consultant). Choosing another code may either mean I risk losing my years of work experience with no point or the other code won't be on the occupation list on the Medium and Long term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

This video should help you in designing your Reference letter for ACS assesment,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZZzOUJn8RA&t=80s

Secondly you need to put the day, month you started working into perspective to be sure how many years you have for instance if u started working 1 jan or may 23rd of a particular year you have to put that into consideration.... Am sure other guru would help you here.

Thank you sir, while I await help from other gurus too!

Good morning Nairalanders,

Thank you for all the great work!

Please, I am a graduate of Elect Elect (B.Eng) but I have about 8years work experience in the ICT field, more related to the ANZSCO code 261111 - ICT Business Analyst.

My 8yrs experience cuts across the following: Bank - 1yr, Consulting firm - 6yrs, and my Current job - 1yr. However, my roles are still ICT-related in the firms.
I plan on submitting my ACS Assessment this coming week and I need to request Reference Letters from my organizations. I need help in the following areas:

1. Please, I would need a sample Reference Letter for ACS Assessment on ICT Business Analyst

2a. If ACS chooses to make my B.Eng Elect Elect an ICT Minor, then they will take out 5yrs from my 8yrs work experience which means I need the remaining 3yrs completely to claim my 5points for Experience. So asking for Reference Letter from my current employment is needed to make up for this 3yrs for my 5points on Experience. However, I am not sure what my boss and the HR in my current organization will think requesting a Reference Letter from them now (like I want to leave or something cry).

2b. Or can my current job's work-experience Reference Letter be sent later , once it's good enough time to request (Maybe when things are about to click), without paying a new ACS Assessment fee ?

3. Can my Reference Letter be addressed "To whom it may concern"? The reason is that I do not want it being addressed to the Australian Immigration for instance, and then, I may need to tender it maybe to the Canadian Immigration or for something else.

Thank you soo much for the anticipated responses.

Sthill5:

Yes you can sit for two levels in a sitting
Let me break it down so everyone can benefit

Certificate- 3 modules (compulsory)

Diploma-4modules (only one is compulsory)

Professional Graduate Diploma- 4 modules with project
A total of 11 modules..don't attempt to do all at once, the exam schedule may not even allow you to because certificate and PGD exams may be at the same time. You can do 5 in September and 6 in April. I actually sat for 6 in a month and passed them all.
For the non-compulsory modules, you can choose which courses you want to sit for.
I recommend sitting for the ones that are similar

For example..software engineering 1 at diploma level and software engineering 2 at the PGD level

You can start working on your project from day 1 so you can complete it on time

For a complete list of the courses, please see the British computer society's website

Thanks a whole LOT!
You are the best grin

From my experience and knowledge, The IT qualifications from British Computer Society is one of the fastest ways to gain a Bsc equivalent.

If you are determined enough, you can sit for all three levels in a year.

Please, do you know if one can be allowed to write all three levels (IT Cert, Diploma, and Professional) in one sitting or even 2 levels in a sitting? Because I am hoping I can do that in September.

I saw your recent response to Adenikeo but I didn't quite understand it. Could you please provide more insight into this and how to go about it in a year, or in one sitting if they allow.

I Believes in "Natural Selection"; The Nature chooses whom it wants to choose an at their appointed time.
Do the Right things(Assessment & Eoi) and force nothing.

65points is what they said we should gather in the first place.Right?

GoodLuck

Thank you and favor all the way!!! All the very best to you too smiley

There ars things you cannot control and the ones you are at the drivers seat.
ITA most times depends on what they want or how high you are able to score.
You have 70 Points? You've done well for yourself, just sit and wait for nature to play its cause..

GoodNews is, their new law states that even if your EOI has lasted for up to A Year, E.g 65 points in the next financial year whenever them 65 pointers are being called upon, that they'd start from old applicants.

Goodluck.

Thank you so much for the response. Much appreciated. However, my heart broke as you mentioned 65points because that is going to be the case once I turn 33 in July. The point will just drop to 65point sad cry
