Politics / Thisday Newspaper, Nduka Obaigbena Prove That They Are Still In Saraki's Pocket by Moana0635: 12:08pm On Feb 11, 2019
ThisDay recently released two similar versions of what can only be loosely described as a poll on how Nigerians would probably vote in the Presidential elections. But what it really is, is a pile of horse-shit...pardon my French. At best, it sounds like the result of drunken gossip between their interns. It lacks depth, analysis, and is so shockingly out of touch with reality that only a dimwit would give it any credibility. For those of you who haven't seen either poll, check the images below

First of all, it’s interesting how the ThisDay poll gave Buhari as much as a 15-20% drop without any material basis.

It’s obvious that ThisDay tried to create a perception security of the states of its paymasters (Kwara and Adamawa).

It’s curious that all of a sudden, ThisDay is bumping up Buhari’s votes in Taraba considering that it is currently a PDP state whose godfather (TY Danjuma) is clearly opposed to Buhari. The big bump ThisDay is giving to Buhari in Taraba and the crowd that PMB pulled at his rally in Jalingo last week, may very well be a strong indicator of an impending PMB victory. Nobody can deny when a candidate goes into the enemy territory and puts a stake in the ground. PMB did that in Taraba.

It’s curious that ThisDay only gave increases to Buhari in small states where the votes would make very little difference and stayed silent in the large battleground states.

Obviously, ThisDay didn’t carry out a scientific poll, and it admitted that in its report, because any credible political projection must be based on a scientific poll or a regression analysis that relies on historical or trending data and ThisDay didn’t do either but instead, relied on a group of editors and their subjective opinion.

It's almost like you didn't read to understand. These people who carried out the survey don't care about your sentiment or backyard analysis. This isn't a matter of like or dislike . These are REAL LIFE numbers. Google The Eurasia Group, they are one of the world’s largest political risk consultancy firms. If you want to contest their findings, please show me another polling body that has reported numbers that see Atiku winning.
kettykin:
if Goodluck Jonathan lost to buhari with just 2 Million votes despite being backstabbed and voted against by some middle belt states then Atiku Abubakar with the key middle belt support and the support of the North East will defnitely with support of the East win against Buhari , unless mathematics and logical reasoning does not work again.

Also the votes of former APC fans who have recovered from the change scam will vote Atiku

Politics / Proof That Buhari Will Win The Election Without "Rigging" by Moana0635: 7:29pm On Feb 09, 2019
These are the findings/ polling result from an independent body who sampled thousands of Nigerian citizens in all the geographic zones

POLLING RESULTS FROM THE VENTURE INSTITUTE PROJECTOR

The results obtained through VIPs Intelli-A show the current standing of the two most prominent candidates in Nigeria's Presidential election- President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP. The analysis covers all the geographical zones of Nigeria (the North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-West, South-South, South-East). We surveyed 6,000 registered voters (1,000 per zone) across the country as to who they will vote for, and the results are enumerated by zone in the following paragraphs.

" In the North West projection, 25% of voters would vote for Atiku, while 75% will support Buhari.
The high percentage of support for the APC candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in the North-West is predictable as he has traditionally averaged 85-90% of the votes in this zone.

" In the North-East, Atiku is likely to receive 32% of voters support while Buhari should clinch 68% of voters support.

Buhari's dominance in the North-East is unsurprising considering that the two states where Buhari's support is the strongest are in the zone. Also, Atiku has never recorded a win in his own Local Government Area and all candidates he has openly supported over the years have lost in Adamawa, his home state. In the North-East zone, a high number of political heavyweights are on Buhari's side (such as former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu and and former governor Mohammed Marwa). The PDP gubernatorial candidate in Gombe is also currently campaigning for APC candidate, Buhari. The current governor of Gombe also campaigned strongly for Buhari in 2015. Clearly, this zone is an APC stronghold.

" In the North-Central, Atiku will garner 45% of voters support, while Buhari's support is projected at 55%.

The North-Central states are big in the on the agricultural sector and benefitted significantly from the Agriculture Revolution which has been tagged Buhari's greatest achievement. According to our findings, Kwara and Kogi have swung heavily towards Buhari by as much as 70%.

" In the South-West, 43% of voters are expected to support Atiku while 57% of voters will support Buhari.
The people of the South-West still hold a grudge against Atiku, Obasanjo and the entire PDP for the massive election rigging they sponsored in 2003 which saw the PDP pushing the South-West party, Alliance for Democracy out of power.

" In the South-South, Atiku is projected to receive 65% of voters support while Buhari will clinch 35% of voters.

The South-South is a traditional PDP zone and it appears that fact has not changed. While the PDP will win the majority, our analysis has shown that APC has made some inroads in Akwa-Ibom, Delta and Cross River states.

" In the South-East, 80% of voters are likely to declare their support for Atiku while Buhari will receive 20% of voters support.

The South-East is Atiku's strongest base. While it looks like Atiku is set to win, Buhari seems to have made incursions into three South-East states; Anambra, Ebonyi and Imo states.

CONCLUSION: From our analysis, a sample of 6,000 registered voters in all geographical zones across Nigeria, Atiku has the support of 2,150 registered voters while Buhari enjoys the support of 3,850 registered voters. This translates as Atiku 36% and Buhari 64%. Seemingly, the negatives of Atiku being corrupt and the aftermath of the 16 years of misrule by the PDP still lingers in voters' minds, adversely affecting Atiku's current Presidential ambition. The Venture Institute Projector is a subsidiary of the Venture Institute, an independent, non-governmental organization with no political affiliations.

In addition to the findings from this Institute, one of the world's largest political risk consultancy firms, Eurasia Group has predicted victory for Buhari, saying Saraki has been distracted by the battles he is facing in the National Assembly coupled with the weak campaign being run by South-East governors, who are not too happy with the emergence of Atiku’s running mate, Peter Obi, as key reasons Atiku may lose to Buhari.
Eurasia Group said, “Opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar has regained some momentum in recent weeks, but President Muhammadu Buhari remains favored to win (a 60% probability),”

Outside of Nigeria, many who keep close watch on Nigerian politics believe this election will favour the incumbent president. Alex Thurston is Assistant Professor of Teaching in the African Studies Programme at the Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
He said "Buhari is still the favourite because of his party’s continued strength in its strongholds in northern and southwestern Nigeria, along with the considerable advantages of incumbency and some specific liabilities of Abubakar”. Thurston is a well-known critic of the Buhari adminstration and a highly credible source with no bias.

Leadership Nigeria has also predicted victory for Buhari.
However, ThisDay newspaper, who are famously known to be in the pocket of Bukola Saraki are the only organisation to predict a victory for Atiku.

1. ATIKU USED PUBLIC FUNDS TO BUILD UNIVERSITIES
- How much to build his University?
- University tuition paid in dollars
- It contributes to high exchange rate
- it’s against the law to build a University and gain from it as a public official
- Who are the contractors and what else did they build for Atiku
2. ADAMAWA ONE OF THE POOREST NATIONS IN THE COUNTRY
- Atiku is from Adamawa and said he has liberated 45,000 from poverty but Adamawa is the 3rd poorest state in the country.
- He’s helping only less that 1% of Adamawa’s population.
- The road to his village was built by Buhari’s administration.
- If he’s not helping his own state’s people, how does he plan to help all of Nigeria.
3. BUILT ASCON $3.5 BILLION AND SOLD IT FOR MUCH LESS ONLY 7.1% OF VALUE $250 MILLION
- 92.9% ( $3.25 billion)o f the left over amount after the sale of Ascon was squandered.
- What will be the fate of companies Atiku plans to privatize (NNPC)?
4. INTELS AND ATIKU’S PERSONAL INTEREST CONFLICTING WITH GOVERNMENT
- Intels had monopoly in Onne, Warri and Calabar port.
- He used his influence as a customer to create monopoly for personal gain
-

- Lied about deportation of 29 beggars, cannot be trusted
-
6. GRANT AMNESTY TO LOOTERS
- Atiku’s plan is to legitimize corruption
- Granting amnesty means creating a lawless country
- Other criminals including Rapists, Thieves and kidnappers will get away unpunished.
-
7. SPEED UP JUDICIARY SYSTEM (FIGHT CORRUPTION)
- Why is he against immediate removal of CJN if he’s plan is to speed up judiciary processes.
- Why didn’t he do all this when he was VP for 8 years, why now?
8. AUTOMATE THE CIVIL SERVICE SYSTEM (FIGHT CORRUPTION)
- Why didn’t he do all this when he was VP for 8 years, why now?
- Atiku had all the opportunity and resources
-
9. OBI USED STATES MONEY TO INVEST IN HIS FAMILY BUSINESS

Politics / The Fictions, The Lies And The Facts In Atiku/obi’s Claims In The Candidates by Moana0635: 10:30pm On Jan 31, 2019
Yesterday, Nigerians watched with shock and dismay the barefaced lies and outright dishonest claims of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in the television show tagged ‘The Candidates’.

Let us tell Nigerians some of the lies they told in that programme, which some simple fact-checks would easily expose.

Lie Number 1:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claimed that at handover in May 2019, our GDP growth rate was 6%.

Fact Checked Truth: It is a well-documented fact that at handover, the GDP growth rate was 2.35%. The economy was on a free fall as the GDP growth rate had dropped for three consecutive quarters.

Lie Number 2:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claims recession was caused by the APC Government.

Fact Checked Truth: With a consistent and rapid drop of our GDP, their Coordinating Minister of the Economy at that time, Okonjo Iweala, former Central Bank Governor Prof. Charles Soludo and the Central Bank Governor at the time, now Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, warned the PDP Government and Nigerians that we were headed for a recession.

Lie Number 3:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claimed that security challenges were restricted to the North East during their time.

Truth: Nigerians will recall that the Boko Haram activities had spread all over the North East, North West and North Central. For instance, the UN Headquarters, Police Headquarters, a Bus stop in Nyanya, a prominent Plaza in Wuse II were all bombed during the era of the last govt. A church or Mosque was bombed every week in 2013/2014. The herders-farmers’ clashes were the deadliest in 2014, claiming over 1,300 lives in a short period across the North. Boko Haram occupied over 17 Local Government Areas and hoisted their flags, effectively establishing a caliphate in the North East. All these happened before the coming of this administration.

Lie Number 4:

Peter Obi claimed that out-of-school children grew to 13.5 million under this administration .

Truth: The figure of 13.2 million out-of-school children was a 2015 survey by UNICEF. An alarm was raised by several global bodies then because the figure had grown from 10.5 million in 2010 to 13.2 million in 2015, despite record earnings of the Government at that time. In other words, Peter Obi’s claim is self-indicting.

Lie Number 5:

That Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as a Customs officer, said there was nothing wrong at that time with setting up a company that had dealings in the Ports that were under Customs’ supervision.

Truth: The Code of Conduct for Public Officers was first enshrined in the 1979 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Atiku Abubakar co-founded the company, as a serving Customs officer, three years after the 1979 Constitution came into operation. According to Section 1 of the 5th Schedule to the 1979 Constitution, a public officer shall not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicts with his duties and responsibilities. By establishing a company involved in Port-related business at a time when he was an officer in the Nigeria Customs Service charged with managing the Ports, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar definitely put himself in a position where his personal (business) interest conflicted with his duties as a public officer.

Lie Number 6:

Peter Obi claims Nigeria has record poverty now.

Truth: Despite high oil revenue, according to the World Bank, extreme poverty under PDP grew to 112 million in 2013 through 2014, compared to 86 million today. India pulled their citizens out of poverty for over two decades by using the same methods Nigeria is now using today.

In summary one would have thought that in the course of the programme, ‘The Candidates’, Atiku/Obi would have modified the lies they told earlier in their campaigns and make it consistent with reality as most of them were already fact-checked by independent bodies and proven to be lies. Alas they have continued on the same path, believing that ‘If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed’.

The Summary of their Presentations:

First and foremost, Nigerians should take note that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar defined Corruption as "the use of your privileged position to either enrich yourself or enrich your relatives or even your friends". When this is juxtaposed with his earlier statement in Lagos, that he will enrich his friends if he becomes President, we can safely conclude that he will be fully in the business of corruption if he becomes President.

Secondly, Atiku/Obi made it clear to Nigerians that conflict of interests as a public servant should be the norm as, during their tenures, they found absolutely nothing wrong then and today, with investing public funds in enterprises they own or their families own. For instance, Kadaria ran Peter Obi into a ditch when she asked him if his family was not enriched as a result of using public funds for his family business ‘NEXT’.

Thirdly, their claim on experience in running anything public or private cannot stand any act of scrutiny. The Presidential candidate, who is easily a major contributor to our huge unemployment problem today as a result of his corrupt privatisation programme, counts this failure as a huge experience and wants to repeat same if elected.

Finally, their proposed Agriculture Programme which they claim to have put together to lift majority of the people out of poverty is a version of what is already being implemented by the present government under the Anchors Borrowers Programme and the Government Enterprises and Empowerment Programmes.

After watching Atiku/Obi on that programme, it has become clear to all Nigerians that our public institutions and commonwealth would be in grave danger if left in the hands of these dodgy and questionable characters who have no morals and no scruples about using and misusing public funds for private gains.

General Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo has no right whatsoever to talk about election rigging or free and fair elections. He shouldn't insult our sensibilities. Not all of us are idiots. Obasanjo is a political non entity in his native Abeokuta, talk less of his native Ogun State, his native South West or Nigeria.
Only those with a a poor grasp of politics think anything Obasanjo says can have a significant negative effect on Buhari getting re-elected. OBJ’s letter is the last kick of a dying horse. A toad doesn't run in the afternoon..He is afraid, fear has overwhelmed him.
He should have written this letter to himself in 2003 and 2006 when we witnessed the worst elections in our history.
Teacher don't teach me nonsense
Buhari wants a 2nd term and is being called a “tyrant” by the so-called DEMOCRAT wanted a 3rd term. Ha! OBJ worked against Awolowo,he worked against Abiola and he is working against Osinbajo now and some idiots are hailing the monkey. The man who supervised the WORST election aka “Do or Die” alongside Maurice Iwu ....
It is because of Obasanjo that elections in certain states no longer align with the regular four years as originally stipulated e.g Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Edo etc I am impressed Nigerians no longer believe Obasanjo because all he doesn't want is anyone equaling his record of longest serving Nigerian ruler. That’s why he wanted to go for a 3rd term after accomplishing absolutely nothing in his 8yr rule, stealing $16bn in the name of electricity generation. Nigerians have not forgotten so soon, dear OBJ. How many opposition has Buhari ordered to be killed? Unlike OBJ’s regime that killed opposition like rats. Bola Ige, Marshall Harry etc At his age, he should be restituting not causing chaos.

Our common sense Senator, Ben Murray Bruce has in a series of tweets, exposed his true feelings about PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar's decision to run away from the 2019 Presidential debate. It should be remembered that Atiku was also absent in the 2011 Presidential debate and come to think of it, no PDP candidate has agreed to attend a Presidential debate since 1999!! Obasanjo refused in 1999, he refused again in 2003, Yar'Adua refused to debate in 2007, Goodluck refused in 2011. Atiku has refused in 2019. PDP is a party full of cowardly miscreants.
