I've collected my passport already with Visa granted. I collected it last Friday. You can call UKVI on +442034811736. The TLScontact number seems suspicious, I wont advice calling, unless you can confirm. You can walk in to check if a decision has been made already.

Thanks a lot.

If you did standard, I think you'll just have to chill. I submitted on the 2nd Dec and I've not heard anything yet. Called twice and a decision hasn't been made. I'd advise not to waste money calling them honestly.

I'm going through the same, please how do I contact them. I would appreciate the contact number

Congratulations on your job offer, with regards to this I will also recommend joining the Nigerian doctors in the UK facebook group. it's really an active group where you can get advice on different trusts in the cities you mention. In fact, you can get to meet those who currently work there at the moment who can give you an in-depth analysis of the working conditions there.
Thanks so much for this great idea.

To be honest anywhere you choose to go in the UK is good in terms of your questions above.

However, I am biased towards Wolverhampton because its my locale and I like everything about it,its proximity to Birmingham (second largest city in UK), good balance of various ethnic groups (this is key for quick and easy adaptation), easy access to naija food, cheap and easy access to different transportation links (bus, train and tram), and so many other things.

Regarding weather, there wont be so much difference between both cities really. Wish you all the best in your choice.

Let me know if you choose Wolverhampton and have any further question, need ideas or help.
Thanks a lot. I feel so much better with your reply. I will keep in touch, it's great to have someone in a new area.

Hello house, I'm grateful for the counsel I've gotten from here. I got offers from 2 nhs, in peterborough and wolverhampton. I need insight on which area is better in terms of safety, transport, reduced traffic, housing, entertainment and shopping. Any advice is wanted please. I googled but only got scared with crime and danger I found online. Thank you.

You don't need to worry so much as your agency will continue to guide you. And then, read up online. Don't be quick to sign a contract except you have made enough research. One of the most important thing is, RELOCATION PACKAGE. Your employer need to fund the costs of most of your relocation processes.

Thanks a lot. I was given option of Peterborough, Huntingdon and Stamford. Please which area is best, in terms of safety, cheap accommodation, entertainment and other criteria that I am not aware of. Thank you

Please who has information on Taunton, Somerset. The best area to live, how safe it is, if any black population. My results when I researched talked on violence and being unsafe. Anyone living there or had in the past?

hi...

Please how does this work out? This job search will be successful by God's grace

Any recommendations for London based jobs?

Amen. Thanks a lot. I applied to the nhs and filled an application form through my agency and an interview date was given.
The interview was through skype and they just asked me a few questions on competence and why I wanted their nhs trust. They are to send a certificate of sponsorship which I'm told I will use for the visa application but it will take a few months.
I'm new to the process, so really don't have much information other than my field.

You mean if you get a job offer in an NHS trust that is 15km away from the nearest University you will reject the offer?
If I were you.
1. I would get an employment FIRST.
2. I would migrate to the UK and assume duty.
3. I would begin working as a Nurse in earnest.
You may discover that an MSc is the LEAST of your worries.
You may discover that working as a nurse, all you require are NVQs and lots of trainings and masters becomes Useless.

Thanks a lot. I have registered with an agency who are helping me to acquire a job

Hello everyone, thanks for your guidance to those with the dream to migrate to the uk.
I want to migrate to the uk soon but need advice on the cheapest areas to live in england with a university within 10 miles of the area because I intend applying for masters while I work.
I am a nurse and I have completed the exams I need to write here in Nigeria, I presently need to find an employer.
I'm not sure of the effects of brexit which is why I said areas in England. Every advice will be appreciated.
Thank you.

It's cold now so come with protective clothing. If you like original food like me, you can bring some. You'll get African food stuffs here but it's a little different to me.
My employer provided welcome pack. It was enough for a week thereabout. Spaghetti, plum, vegetable oil, tuna, tea and coffee, milk, margarine...
Thank you so much for the love. Will my employer also supply pots, pans, cutlery, iron or is it found in the rented apartment.

Hello everyone, what are the things one needs to bring along to the UK when packing my load or things you wished you had brought along Nigeria. Also, does the agent or employer provide any welcome pack and if so, what is therein. Thank you all

I have over 10 years experience but it doesn't reflect in my offer letter, I'm to start at the lowest pay in band 5. Please is there something I can do about it before resumption from here in Nigeria. Thank you.

Thank you, with regards to payment based on experience, is it the experience from Nigeria or from start of work in the uk. Then, how does promotion work over there from band 5 to 6 or is it by number of years spent

My ward experience
Resumption was 7am unlike our conventional 8
Handing over information have already been printed out and handed to all nurses and HCA taking over.
After handing over, I was taken round and put in a team.
Every documentation is on computer.
9am nurse in charge said I should go for break (this is the first time I am hearing break in more than 7yrs of practice), I was like, I don't want, she said I must go and take coffee or something. That's how I went to sit and chat a bit in the room .
I later realized that I have access to bread, tea or coffee and spread during that break.
Of course, another break starts by 12(lunch) after which our training continued.
Do I have any regrets so far?
No
I only miss swallow smiley

Thanks so much for this thread. Do they serve meals when on duty or nurses have to buy or bring from home. Then what shifts do nurses run over there. Thank you

I need advice. I need to send my documents to South Africa. I went to NIPOST and was told their ems costs 17797. Please if I send via registered mail, how much will it cost and the estimated delivery time. I can't afford the ems delivery.
