Politics / Re: Stella Oduah's CV Released By Senate by mokola1(m): 11:24am On Jan 09, 2014
There seem to be a theme running here among supporters of this unaccomplished woman. As long as she is an Igbo woman, all her incompetencies and the fact that she fraudulently spent over $1.5 million to purchase 2 BMWs are irrelevant. Is it any wonder that Nigeria is stagnant? For Nigeria to work and become progressive, the citizens must stop tribal and relgious defence of the undefendable. This woman should have been sacked a while ago, arrainged before a court to make a full account of all the monies spent in her Ministry on all those "projects" she has been touting to the nation. And the same thing goes to every single minister in this crime ridden administration.

Celebrities / Re: kaffy's Mum Adviced Her To Do Prostitution by mokola1(m): 6:50pm On Apr 29, 2013
I am astonished by some of the comments I'm reading. How can anyone with a shred of decency and fairness blame this dancer girl just because she is using her life story to inspire young girls who might be similar circumstances she was herself in not too long ago. Only twisted individuals can put the honour of such a depraved mother before that of an innocent girl being led into prostitution by the woman who gave birth to her. Haven't you guys got any shame? Her honesty and the rawness of her experience is what will inspire the countless number of impoverished girls who feel they have no other option and accept that prostitution is the last saving grace left.

Romance / Re: Would You Marry A Lady That Propose Marriage to you ? by mokola1(m): 4:11pm On Oct 29, 2012
As a guy I don't think its that much of a big deal if the girl i've been with for sometime and clearly love beats me to the that question of marriage proposal. If anything, I'd probably be angry at myself that she beat me to it. While I understand that there is a societal expectation that the man should ask the woman for her hand in marrriage, I haven't seen any law that says the opposite shouldn't be the case. For all those guys who say they would look at the girl as being desperate; my only response is they are weak, immature and need to start have a bit off balls. How stupid would this sound- a guy dumps the girl of his dreams because she said "honey i'd love you to be my husband and i want to spend the rest of my life with you". For me this conversation does not need philosophisation.
Politics / Re: Seadogs Holds Save Bakassi Rally. Pictures. by mokola1(m): 11:36pm On Sep 30, 2012
The issue of Bakassi is one that should unite all Nigerians without reserveation of any kind, especially at a time when relations have been strained between different religious and ethnic groups. the so-called ICJ ruling should be considered as nothing but an attack on the sovereinity of the Great Federal Republic of Nigeria. An attack every living being should stand up to defend against. The administration of OBJ was wrong to to even acknowledge any form of dispute on who owns Bakassi let alone participate in some Kangaroo court ruling that has demanded that Nigeria cede the land to Cameroon. Sadly, as Nigeria lacks any form of leadership i fear the current bunch of morons in Aso Rock will not voice even a squeal of disapproval. Not a single inch of our country must be given away and we must be resolute in standing up to the bullies from Europe and America who have no knowledge of the history and make up of our land and society yet sit in some courtroom in Geneva pronouncing declarations on Nigeria. Bakassi is Nigeria and will always remain so.
Politics / Re: National Media Tour of Projects In FCT-DAY 1(pics) by mokola1(m): 12:20pm On Sep 21, 2012
I can see that a lot of people are getting overly excited by the pictures of construction works going on in Abuja. I am not. here are some of the reasons why; since abuja was designated to become the federal capital of Nigeria, all these infrastuctural projects were commissioned and at different stages money had been allocated to develop roads, rail and bridges so my question is why has it taken more than 30 yrs for these projects to get off the ground? More importantly, where are the funds that have been allocated to execute these projects over the years? let me tell you a "secret", since the return of the shambles called democracy in 1999, almost $10 billion dollars have been approved and paid out to companies and individuals to provide power for the country but ask yourselves, are my confident enough to sell my generator because NEPA will always provide light? I think we all know the answer to that. So while some may jump in joy after seeing these projects I say it is too little too late and Nigerians are still being short changed. Fly over lagos at night and you'd think you are flying over the atlantic or a desert because it is almost pitch black. We haven't even started mentioning other parts of the country and probably best not to because the level of development can only be compared to bronze age.
Politics / Re: Bomb Blast: A Burden We Must Live With – Jonathan by mokola1(m): 3:30am On Dec 26, 2011
Goodluck Jonathan is a burden nigerians simply cannot afford to live with. This slowpoke is not qualified to be a primary school headmaster let alone the president of a nation of 150 million people. His statement has to be a joke. A sick joke. I think nigerians has to take some responsibility here as they voted to make him their president. The only way to save yourselves from this disaster is to revolt and have him stand down or litterally beg the military to oust him. Having the military disrupt the so called democracy nigeria claims to have is far better continuing with the sham and watch the country descend into a bloody civil war which has actually started. These are only the first salvos we are witnessing.
Religion / Re: Pictures Of Christmas Day Bomb Blast In Catholic Church by mokola1(m): 2:59am On Dec 26, 2011
It will be utter waste of life if christains do not promptly retaliate against boko haram and there are several reasons why this is the only course of action that can and nust be taken. Firstly, there is no point in expecting the government to seek retribution and justice onbehalf of the slained innocent christians as nigeria has no real government. GEJ is an imbecilic slowpoke who is devoid of any natural ability to think let alone solve problems.
Secondly, this terrorist group have become emboldened over the last 12 months and their attacks have become audacious and terrifying. This brazenness and attack on christians will only continue and make what we see in baghdad and afghanistan child's play.
Thirdly, we have no partners up north that we can work with to root out this menace.

It is for these reasons that christians must strike at the heart of this burgeoning terrorist group. They should start by violently killing the leadership of boko haram and move down the pecking order. Boko haram and its patrons should be left with no doubt of the resolve of christains to ensure that justice will be sought for the blood of their brethrens spilled. They should know with the most forceful effect that they do not possess monopoly over violence. If the hausa muslim leaders are peaceful meaning and believe in one nigeria then the only thing expected of them to join the rest of nigerians in crushing this virulent cancer called boko haraam.

If the actions i prescribe are not taken, it is a guarantee that the horrific scene withnessed today will be played all over again and probably with higher number of casualties.

For evil to succed a few good just have to sit by and do nothing.

Fight for your future christians, fight for your survival.

Whilst most of Nigerian muslims abhor this increasingly sadistic terrorists i'm afraid I don't think Housa muslim leaders are doing enough to join hands with the rest of nigerians in crushing this terrifying menace. Utterances are completely useless in the current circumstances. The only way to defeat boko haram and turn back the tide is is to cut off the head of the snake, that is, violentlently exterminating the leadership if this violent group. You could say fighting fire with fire because these terrorists cannot be reasoned with. But the most helpful group can only be leaders in the hause community sadly I haven't seen any meaningful effort by groups such as AREWA for example, suggesting credible solutions.

It will be a pity to see innocent hausa brothers being attacked in other parts of nigeria but it is almost inevitable that they might witness such fate as revenge. That is why the voices and actions of hausa leaders matter more than ever. A friend of mine always says 'evil prevails when a few good men do nothing'. I hope nigeria is not edging towards civil conflict but we will be complacent to think it is impossible to happen. We might just be witnessing the start of it. That is why now more than ever all nigerians need to make the destruction of boko haram the number 1 national priority.

Firstly in response to @Ezeufi; you must be the bumbest swine to have access to computer and the internet. You substitute common sense for idiocy and if this is your attempt at intellectual discourse then i'm afraid your parents have wasted precious resources in educating you.
Career / Re: Should I Spend N40m On Harvard Business School Mba Or Just Do Business With It? by mokola1(m): 5:26pm On Dec 08, 2011
It certainly doesn't cost 40million naira to obtain an MBA from Harvard. I have attached below a link detailing their fees structure for the next academic year; http://www.hbs.edu/mba/admissions/costsummary.html . It will be difficult to justify paying $84000 (13612200 naira) for an MBA if it is going to be used in Nigeria considering there are very few jobs that will pay a salary worthwhile enough to want a Harvard MBA. Having said that, if you were to seek employment in the US, Europe or any of the BRIC countries then it does make sense to invest such an amount on yourself. Having an MBA from such an institution does carry a premium itself and the kind of connection one will have access to can be priceless if one is smart, savvy and knows how to work such contacts (yes connections does matter too in the West).

Properties / Re: The Real Cost Of Building A 6 Bedroom Duplex (reloaded) by mokola1(m): 6:28pm On Nov 24, 2011
I only just stumbled on this website and i've found it to be an extremely useful forum. I am considering building a house in lagos next year and have been researching the whole process and what is needed. I find this thread started by brabus quite helpful especially with regards to cost of materials. Also all the inputs by followers have been interesting to read. While some have been mega sceptics and extremely cautious, all ponits of view have enhanced my understanding of what to expect and how to proceed with my project. Well done naairaland and cheers to brabus. By the way how much has been expended so far on this project?
